New in town and needed a optometrist that also dealt with contacts. Called to make an appointment and the receptionist was rude. Got to the appointment and the doctor told me off for having pink eye for the first time in 12 years of CL wear. The contact specialist tried to strong arm me into buying daily wear contacts and after I refused ordered them anyway. I never got a call that my incorrect lenses were in, when I stopped to check on them found out they ordered the wrong ones. Got the correct lens ordered, and was called to pick them up but only half of the order was in, and did not have trial pair on-site to hold me over to when the correct lenses arrived. The location is terrible and cramped in the Shop Rite. Very dingy. DONOTCOMEHERE

I walked in without an appointment and there was no wait(the eye doctor did spend a lot of time with me and by the time she was done, there were 2 people waiting for an exam). I do have vision insurance but I did pay an extra $ 40.00 as the additional cost for the contact lens exam was not covered by my insurance plan, which I already knew I would be responsible for. I had a very positive experience with this business. The eye doctor was very polite, the exam was detailed and thorough(for both glasses and contacts) and she was patient and took her time with selecting contact lenses for me as she tried several different ones before finding ones that fit properly and in which I had good vision. I was then asked to take them home, try them for a few days and wear them back in for her to check the fit. I also ordered new lenses(with the new prescription) for my own frames, which were ready in 4 days. Everything fit perfectly and the vision was excellent. I then ordered new lenses for my spare set of frames and they too, were ordered and ready in about 4 days. I did not purchase frames from them as my current ones were still in great shape. The staff was polite and I was called promptly when they said I would be to pick up my glasses. Also, the price I paid for my specific type of eye glass lenses was actually less compared to other eye doctors in the area.

The doctor was very rude, almost like she didn’t want to spend the time it took to ask me basic questions. The nurse/assistant also made me feel rushed. That I was unimportant. I was trying contacts for the first time and she was the least bit helpful in giving me pointers on getting them in. I opted to bypass the contacts after a few attempts and just go for glasses. While I was looking at their poor selection the office staff wrote up a receipt for me. Since there were no glasses that I was interested in I decided to hold off and go elsewhere. All of a sudden they added a $ 40 charge to my receipt when I told them I wasn’t going to buy glasses. Very sketchy that this wasn’t on the receipt beforehand and only added once I decided not to purchase glasses. I protested the charge and expressed my dissatisfaction with the entire appointment to an extremely rude gentleman(manager), but eventually decided to pay the charge and just get out of there. He «accidentally» charged my card TWICE the amount I was suppose to be charged. He immediately reversed it, but I felt that was to spite me for my complaints. They lost the business of my entire five person family, I hope it was worth it over $ 40. Bottom line is stay away unless you like feeling like a useless piece of crap and have deep pockets, they’ll pinch you for every penny!
