Stay away, my wife just had her wallet stolen there, she should have known better than to go to this store.

If you’re interested in standing in line for a ridiculous amount of time, Kmart in New Windsor is your store. The one or two registers continually have stoppages to either find a price, check a price or dispute a price. The store always seems empty until you go to the cashier to check out. If more than one is open, you are lucky, but will still wait an inordinate amount of time to check out. The shelves are bare. Often out of stock. Assistance is poor. After several attempts to get the knife cabinet open to buy a swiss army knife, and 20 minutes later, I was told the person who has the key left the store. Stay away from this store!

This store could use a lot more overhaul and training in customer service. Basically, sales items are frequently out of stock and it has long lines at the checkout due to too few open registers. Management is poorly trained to address both issues. Rainchecks are difficult to get w/o a management merry go round of «approvals.» Checkout lines are blamed on «shift changes» and customers are expected to be patient. In addition the product aisles are in disarray, especially in the toy section. It appears the kids use it as a playroom. Auto and toll sections are basically stocked with many sale items frequently out of stock. This store is basically OK for thoise not wanting to travel the extra 10 minutes to the Suiper WalMart. For tools and auto supplies it is better to get out to the nearby Sears for more choices and better chances of it being in stock. This store rates a C for«if you have no other choice alternative»

Not sure how this store survives since I rarely if ever go on to shop here other than for a few sale items. The store is not bad in size but does lack in discounts otherwise I’d probably shop here more often. It has a simple layout with an expanding tools and hardware section since Sears purchased the franchise. The location even has a small eatery but rarely have I seen it crowded. It even has about three isles of supermarket items along with it’s pharmacy. Overall not a bad spot that does tend to get crowded with lack of cashiers.
