1 Bite Mediterranean

I think the name of this restaurant fits it to the tee. 1 bite of the food is all one can really manage. Actually, the food was just average, maybe below average when comparing to other great Mediterranean places in NYC. But the owner or manager was a complete douchbag, rude as hell. That’s the reason why I would not be coming back and will advise my friends and the Unilocal community as well.

Worst restaurant ever!!! The ambiance is heavy and the owner totally freaked me out! I say that if you can’t even treat your customers with respect then imagine what´s in your plate! This guy should be reported as violent and dangerous! Do not go there!

This place is terrible. I’ve ordered from here constantly for over 2 years as it is near my workplace and used to be reliable. They were formerly called Dardanel, but shamelessly changed their name to «1 Bite» so as to appear first on the Seamless order list.
Tonight was the final straw. Since they became «1 Bite» delivery guys developed a tendency to call well in advance of 10 minutes prior to arriving in the lobby. I understand that sometimes delivery guys are left waiting for a long time, but the 1 Bite guys were the worst about calling too soon. Tonight I waited in the lobby for just over 20 minutes before I came back up to call the restaurant (I work on a very high floor, the elevator ride alone is a few min. each way). The manager called the delivery guy to confirm his location, then got back on the line with me and had the audacity to accuse me of providing an incorrect phone number. She blatantly lied and told me that the delivery guy had «waited and waited» but that I never showed up. I cannot believe that she thought she was going to get away with being accusatory toward a regular customer.
Needless to say, this is absolutely my last time ordering from this establishment. I’m also going to advise my colleagues not to order from here any more. The manager should be ashamed of herself.

I used to love this place — and some things are still excellent — i love the lamb adana wrap. But, I always feel ripped off at the Shepherd Salad. the past few times I’ve ordered the veggies haven’t been fresh, and it tastes like the salad has been sitting around for three days. Decent food, but definitely has gone down hill somewhat in the past few months.

Once our food arrived, everything was fine… but leading up to that moment we weren’t really sure what we were in for. The place was empty when we walked in. We were told we couldn’t order from the set lunch special menu because we were sitting in and not taking away. Okay fine, but we were a bit miffed because the sit down menu was way more expensive than the take away menu. I can’t fault the food when it arrived though. It was quite good. I’ll go back, but probably do takeaway next time.

I am on a diet and went on Seamless hoping for a good salad… I ordered from 1 Bite Mediterranean and I am sooooooo beyond happy with my choice! I had ordered an arugula salad with salmon, and instead got an arugula salad with delicious grilled salmon, dry apricots and fig slices, tomatoes, and sunflower seeds. The dressing was kept on the side, despite not ordering it this way, and a got a wonderfully large, and tempting piece of bread. The order came 10 minutes earlier than I had requested. The salad dressing is light and perfect! I am very happy and will definitely be ordering from here again (through seamless). Great lunch!

My Husband and I had dinner here approximately 8 months ago when it was Dardanel, the food was good, they served the entrees with grilled vegetables, rice, and some other shared sides. The portions were perfect: one entrée=one person. Wait staff was attentive, but not overly fast. I also would order their lunch special through Seamless — a nice lunch for $ 10 + tip. Fast forward 8 months, a friend and I decided to go for lunch since it was good, healthy food, at a good price. It has not been renovated, but the name and menu has changed. All food is a la carte, lunch can easily top $ 20 for the same combination that I previously had for dinner for $ 13.50. Quality was good, but quantity was lacking. It was far from crowded and I can see why. Also, the food took a very long time, considering we were the only customers for most of the time. Considering that there are many other great restaurants in the area, I probably will not be back (unfortunately).

Food was decent, but delivery very slow. Quoted 20 – 35 minutes and took an hour.

Tried this place for the first time. I ordered it for delivery and the food was here within 20 minutes. It was hot and fresh. The food itself was very very good! They even put in little mini candy desserts which were yummy! Can’t wait to eat here again. Highly recommend it.

A very good local Turkish place. Good, healthy food at good prices, and good service to boot. Try the chargrilled spicy lamb platter for $ 9.50 or the grilled bronzini for around $ 19.

Decent for delivery, but I’d go with Ravagh for kebabs and such.

I order 1 Bite for lunch at least once weekly. The shepherd salad is still one of my all-​time favorite Turkish dishes, but most recently I opted for the eggplant salad, and it did not disappoint. Delivery is great for me because it’s super quick, and they offer a few little one-​bite add-​ons like yogurt, some sort of eggplant tomato sauce, and a gelatin dessert with an almond in the middle. Yum.

Owner is very rude. Restaurant was empty and he would not accommodate a request to make an item on the takeout menu. Told us to leave and lost our business. Terrible service! Do not go here! Will be out of business. Staff had attitudes and lost only customers in their restaurant. Many better places in the city.

It was called Dardanel before… Just read the previous reviews on this restaurant and you will understand… I do not recommend this place. I have to say that the service was good but the owner was extremely violent with one of his customers that day. He started to scream at her for no reasons. Everyone got scared. I will never go there again. Also, I am very sensitive to the decoration and cleanliness and I can tell that this guy prefer to go for cheap than quality… Attention to details hasn’t been made and for this reason it is not a good restaurant.

Food good, however very small portions for the amount you pay.

Just ordered from here and I was very satisfied. I wasn’t very hungry so I just ordered cheese rolls and fries. The cheese rolls were yummy and if I had a plate of them in front of me I’d probably devour the entire thing. I’d want something like that if I was hosting a party. The fries were a little soggy. I’m a crunchy fries kinda girl but fries are fries. I won’t ridicule them on their fries since today was a rainy day and with the heat from the food they may have turned soggy on their own. I thought it was super cute that they gave me complimentary turkish delight. It was the cutest thing and made me smile. I think it was because when I ordered (I ordered on the phone) the guy asked if it was my first time ordering from them. Regardless of the reason, it was well appreciated (and quite yummy!) and shows that they care about complete customer satisfaction. All in all, I will be ordering from them again, hopefully when I’ve got a bigger appetite so I can get some of their food food. But I’m sure I’ll be getting cheese rolls on the side ;)

The food is very good but the delivery and customer service is beyond lacking. Delivery is always late and on more than one occassion the order was completely wrong.

I was a little concerned before I went when I saw there were no reviews for this place, however it was previously called «Dardanel Mediterranean & Seafood» and recently has been renovated so I couldn’t find anything about them!
I’m so glad we decided to eat here — it was amazing!
The restaurant is pretty small. The front portion is pretty narrow and you have to walk nearly halfway through the place to get to the «hostess stand, but it opens up in the back. Regardless, I thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance. It’s rustic, with wooden tables, chairs and leather booths.
Our dinner was awesome! The fresh bread was absolutely amazing, the food was fresh, and hot out of the oven. Per the recommendation of our very attractive waiter, we ordered the zucchini pancakes, shrimp caprese, hummus, and crispy feta.
So yummy! The only caveat is to ask for FRESH bread! Our first loaf was straight from the oven and it was so soft and tasty. The next one had been sitting out and it was not very good :(
Those 4 tapas (plus unlimited bread) was $ 30.00 + tip.
I’ll definitely be back if I’m in the neighborhood!
