Exactly what you’d hope it would be but at a price that can’t be beat. Two very decent slices and a can of soda for $ 3. No good place to sit in the joint so you’ll definitely want to grab and go.

I had saved this pizza joint on Unilocal before going to NYC and was ecstatic to see that it was across the street from our hotel. We arrived at our hotel around 1:30 and needed to get over to 30 Rock to see Jimmy Fallon by 3:15. We decided to try our first official New York style pizza. This place was what we expected — big, greasy slices of pizza for $ 1 each. You cannot go wrong with that price. Be aware that a bottle of water costs $ 4 so our 4 pieces turned into $ 8 instead of 4… Other than that it was fast and easy. We went outside and devoured our pizza while standing on the side walk. This is a go to spot! We Had been out all day and were hungry. Our eyes darted to and fro looking for a pizza palace. The year prior I had Two Brothers and loved them. Not realizing where I was I looked up from my hungry state and saw the mirage of two brothers pizza! Could it be?! I rushed in and immediately bought a large pie. I’m currently enjoying their amazing, fresh pizza. Don’t pass em up–

Just like the old saying«You get what you pay for.» Pure sh*t on a shingle. Also, there is no restroom. Avoid like an STD. A crime against NYC pizza.

Cash only! But really though, it’s a $ 1 slice of pizza. There’s a conveniently located sketchy ATM near the entrance of 2 Bros in the event you don’t have cash on hand. Now, I feel like I shouldn’t complain about a big slice of pizza that’s $ 1, but… 1. The slice is served at room temperature 2. The crust is too chewy for my liking 3. The ambiance is like an old hospital but greasier 1&2 can be alleviated by firing up the slice in an oven(but that destroys the supply chain of serving customers), and 3… not much you can do about that. But I’m here to eat! Honestly, the flavor of the pizza ain’t too bad. And if you’re like me and need soda with pizza, then buck up — it’s $ 1.75 for a can of Coke. Would I return? I think I would rather pursue my quest of trying other $ 1 pizza joints in town instead.

Our first NY pizza experience. We were all starving after the long commute from the west coast. I had pepperoni and meat lovers. Got a great Pepperoni slice, but the meat lovers wasn’t crispy enough. I’ll stick with pepperoni or get cheese next time. Will definitely be my go to spot for $ 1 slices.

Fine for what is is, $ 1 pizza(including tax). There are only two flavors, cheese and pepperoni(additional toppings can be added for extra, but they just go on top of the already cooked pizza). There seem to be other menu items as well, but most people came for pizza and when we went that was mostly all that they were serving anyway. My friend and I came in to grab a quick bite before going to see Matilda on Broadway. The slices are pretty large. The bottom of the pizza was nice and crispy, but the dough overall was thicker than what I expected for NY style pizza(I am a thin crust fan). I did move a little slowly trying to figure out how to pay at the end of the line(you just hand to cashier person or leave the $ 1 bill on the glass counter), so I was yelled at, but in the nice New Yorker kind of way(clearly, I’m not a local), lol. Pretty good and satisfying $ 1 pizza, but you get what you pay for and there are a lot of other places to choose from as well.

If you’re looking for New York pizza, this is the spot. Cheap $ 1 cheese slices with fresh pies coming out of the oven every few minutes. Not fancy but fast and delicious!

NAHBRO. Ordered 2 slices: 1 Pep w/pineapple(why? are you too cheap for ham?) and 1 sausage that was slacking on the sausage. Cheese tasted fake. Skimping on the sausage. You call yourself pizza? Oh and your service sucks, obviously the guy at the register would rather count some stupid change and take his sweet time with the line waiting to order pizza.

Had I not found this place on the internet I would never have eaten here simply because my doubting mind would have prevented me from eating at what looks like a low rent tourist trap. Thankfully due to Unilocal,I knew better and so this became a destination as we walked from Grand Central to Times Square. Service was quick and the pizza was fresh — and cost a dollar. Standing outside the joint and eating my dollar pizza off a paper plate, I have to admit that it was probably the best thing I’ve ever eaten for a buck. It isn’t the best pizza you’ll find, but I doubt you’ll get anything better for the price!

I would say a very solid 4 star. The slice was tasty and the crust had a great texture, however the fact that I can’t remember specifically what the pizza tasted like tells me it wasn’t anything REALLY special. Be forewarned, this place is hot as an oven! Wintertime– I think it will be ok in there, but we stopped in when it was low 60s outside and I immediately started sweating. We grabbed our slices and ate at the standup tables by the front. It was decent up there. And the price was right! I don’t remember what we paid but I remembered my wife telling the cashier,“no, we got TWO slices.” And their reaction was nothing more than a, «yeah, I know…» Good eats for next to nothin’. Now that’s my kind of place!

$ 1 including tax for a slice of cheese pizza — how can you go wrong, really? And to top it off, it was pretty tasty! Sure, it’s not 5* pizza on its own, but putting together the fast service, the fresh slice, and the price, I can’t see how it could be improved upon, really. Definitely different from the pizza we have in London, or from what I’ve had in Chicago or Naples — nice New York style pizza, eaten off a paper plate with a smile. Perfect!

A very good slice of pizza for $ 1. I liked it so much that I bought a second slice. Plain slice for $ 1 – WOW!!! I was hungry & it was great! You walk in & head toward the back – PLAINSLICES are sold at first pizza station area; any pizza slice with a topping is sold at the second pizza station. Line moves very quickly, lots of staff. Have your DOLLARBILLREADYFOR A PLAINSLICE. This 2 Brothers Pizza is on West 46th Street, between 5th&6th Ave, closer to 5th Avenue. I’ll post photos of my 2nd plain slice & the outside signage. I was so hungry that I ate the first slice before I could photo it. THEREISSOMESEATINGINSIDEINTHEBACK, where you purchase pizza. Some tall standing only tables in the front. You will also see some folks outside, standing & eating pizza. Overall, I’d say great dollar slice of pizza.

I would definitely come back to 2 Bros again. A solid value for NY Style pizza! I would recommend going at a peak hour. Visited at an off time and it was slim pickins. Only three types of pizza by the slice were available at the time. Or come really hungry and order a whole pie.

Native NYer here. I saw this place and remember the times I’d hit up these spots at 2am on weekends back in the day. So today I stopped here for sh1ts and giggles and it was surprisingly REALLY good. Got 2 plain slices. The thing I like about this place is that its so popular, the dollar slices are ALWAYS fresh. For $ 1, I’d much rather have this stuff than the $ 4 slices everywhere else. As much as any pizza snob would shun this place, its friggen pizza — cheese, bread, sauce — the stuff you going to get from the«top pizza shops» isn’t THAT much different! Also i find it hilarious they have now expanded into a more«gourmet pizza» with different toppings in the back, along with a new southern-style area. The pizzas with toppings didnt look as popular though and may have been sitting out for a while. If you want a slice with toppings, i think they are all around $ 2.50 — so plain is where its at. They now offer stuff like jerk/fried/roast chicken and plenty of different sides for dirt cheap prices — 1 meat and 2 sides was $ 5.50 and fried chicken pieces are only $ 1 each. The roast and jerk chicken were both ok. The fried chicken is REAL good. Highly recommend. Even KFC can’t beat these prices. Also highly recommend the Stewed Chicken pieces. They are crazy tender and the meat melts right off. The home-made chicken noodle soup for $ 3 was a bargain. Any deli would happily call it a «large» will definitely be coming back.

$ 1 cheese pizza at this location, $ 1.50 for pepperoni. $ 2.50 for 2 slices plus canned soft drink. Wondered if it was too good to be worth it. Well it was very good. But certainly not the best. For an ex New Yorker it hit what I wanted. Oilly flavorful with good crust. Stopped here today(may 2015) and also the previous time I was in NYC. Great location. Price can’t be beat.

Dollar slice pizza. A New York staple, but there is something special about this place. Pizza isn’t greasy and has great flavor. I attended night classes at Hunter College on 68th street, and when I would walk to Penn Station, this place was the best cheap eat that I could really enjoy. Will always be grateful to these guys for helping me through a lot of late night walks home.

Oh happy day this is my 300th review =) Before I wanted pizza, I used to just head over to Little Italy which is only a block away from my building but its quite expensive and always get full after eating 1 ½ slices. Now I will walked a little further to get my money’s worth at 2 Bros Pizza which is a buck + tax total win-win situation. There are always people producing massive plain cheese pies =) Make sure you have cash!

Bomb ass pizza. Its cash only. The deal is 2.75 for two slices and a drink. Otherwise they’re a buck a slice(speciality sliced are like 2 bucks). Talk about a sweet deal. You get in line, tell em what kind of pizza you want, they heat it up and you can hopefully find a spot inside this teeny hallway of a pizza palace or eat up outside. My hubbs loved the pizza here. As did I. Simple, quick and cheap.
