49th and 2nd Fruit Stand

I sometimes buy fruits and carrots from them in the morning. In this area, Midtown East, pricing of vegetables and fruits at supermarkets is expensive, but this vender’s pricing is cheap. Their fruits and vegetables seems always fresh, too.
They are there except winter. Sales person changes by the day or the time of the day. I think I saw at least 3 people who work there. One person was nice, one person was okay and the other had a emotionless mask. One day, when my coworker wanted buy fruits during lunch time, the sales person was away and his friend or a stranger was standing there. He said he was asked by the sales person to watch the shop. My coworker had to wait for the sales person to come back. In the morning, there is no problem, though.
Update: In September, I passed by this area after midnight and the vendor was still there! I wonder what is there bussiness hours.

Thank God for this fruit stand… otherwise I would be at the mercy of Morton Willams located kittycorner. I now get 90% of my fruits and veggies from this stand. They are usually set up early in the morning and well into the night. They keep the NW corner cheery and animated.
One minor quibble… they label everything as being «sweet»…when sometimes they are not. sweet bananas, sweet asparagus, sweet apples etc.

It’s probably weird that I’m waiting a review for a fruit stand but these guys are simply the best. They are open all night and on the weekends, which is hard to find in Midtown East since it gets pretty quiet on the weekends and they have the best prices. I’ve seen some fruit stand guys change their banana prices every other day and here it’s 4 for $ 1 all day, every day. The fruit and veggies are always fresh and I love that they have a variety of items to choose from… asparagus to strawberries. Job well done. P. S. NW corner
