Great burgers and fries. A bit on the busy side but it’s nyc. I enjoyed my meal. Worth a try

Best place to go for a burger !! Been going there for a few years; and across the street to the theatre with the reclining seats ! Best duo for a nice evening out. I really enjoy the service, and atmosphere. Hooks above us while we, cool feeling.

Very disappointing today. There is always a wait and today was no exception. This is a special treat for my kids, but clearly this is a standby for others who crowd in and are willing to wait 45 minutes at 2:00 in the afternoon. It took over 30 minutes for our food to arrive, and no one came over to refill our water or see how we were doing during the wait. We had no napkins or silverware, and when I asked for some, the waiter brought us 3 sets, even though we were a table of 5. My napkin had lipstick stains on it. My waiter apologized, but then forgot to bring me another one. We asked three times before finally getting napkin sfor the whole table. Then they brought me the wrong dish. As I watched everyone else eat their lunch, I waited for mine. The prices have gone up, the service has gone down. And there are other places to get a better burger.

I see why this usually gets 3 stars. This is a basic restaurant with basic food and service. I ordered a ginger ale which was literally the most sugary thing I have ever experienced. I ordered sushi while my date ordered the ribs. The sushi itself was basic and dry while lacking any flavor at all. My date’s ribs were alright with the only thing saving them being the jerk spices which I’m sure any true islander would critique harshly. Everything was edible but I don’t think I would return.

It’s a perfect place for date night or girls hangout on a Friday night. My personal favorite is veggie burger but you must try their meat burgers — my friends say they are delicious! Also, the restaurant has happy hours for house drinks after 10pm. Just adds up to a great night!

I love this place ! Burgers are amazing and juicy! Staff is friendly and prices are decent. Loud busy atmosphere and great location right across from a great movie theater perfect for date night ! Parking is best after 7pm. I will be back for sure !

I highly recommend the Bar Happy Hour from 10pm-close(12±). Many Tap Beers are $ 4 and Cosmos are $ 5 and Wine is $ 5 as well. they have 3 Different Sliders for $ 2 each plus $ 0.5 chicken wings and $ 2 Sushi cones. I go 1 – 2 a week and I enjoy the late night at the % Napkins!!.

Itemized details below, but I don’t plan on going back. Onion Rings– Looked amazing, very crunchy as well. However, the batter was lacking in flavor and it tasted like I was eating crunchy cardboard. I thought the dipping sauce might have saved it but it was also really bland. I ended up using the onion rings as a ketchup delivery device. 5 Napkin Burger– Ordered medium, came out pretty bloody. I started at the juicer end of the burger and the first bite was gooey and good but the rest of the burger was really dry. I left wishing I had just gotten a Big Mac or a Double Whopper instead. The great topping combination couldn’t savage the basic burger underneath. Fries, Sweet Potato Fries– Could use some salt, Fries were soggy. PBT or the Portobello Mushroom Burger– Straight up dry. The mushrooms where lacking in flavor and the meat just isn’t juicy even served medium. I had to drown in ketchup to get it down. Service– No frills, just there to take your order and be out. Value– Too expensive for lackluster burgers

Forget 5 Napkin Burger go to BareBurger! After seeing a movie across the street we were starving. We looked around and 5 Napkin was right there! My friend had tried it before and sounded like she enjoyed her burger. I said I’d give it a try since I was ready to eat my handbag! First, service was slow. Second, I felt cramped since the place was crowded. Third, the food wasn’t that tasty. Fourth, it is way overpriced. Fifth, the place didn’t appear clean. Try it, you may like it! As for me, I won’t be back!

This place is totally over-hyped. There was a wait for this place. That I wouldn’t have minded so much if the food they had was actually any good! I did like that they took your number down to text you when your table was ready. My friend and I sat down and we looked at the menu… They had sushi on this menu as well? Seemed odd. The salads that came out looked pretty good. We ordered burgers though, because we figured, their signature dish had to be good? Nope. The burgers weren’t particularly that big and not that tasty… I ordered a medium rare burger and my friend ordered a medium well burger. Fairly certain that they mixed our orders up and she got the medium rare and I got the medium well. My friend didn’t even notice hers was pretty pink and soft still and mine was cooked to beyond coming back… So yeah… I was not too happy about that. To top it off, I finished that off with 1 napkin. This was a 1 napkin burger.

Rude bartender. Avoid. Usually when you sit down at a bar, it’s because you want to order a drink. Apparently, that’s not how it goes at 5 Napkin Burger. We sat down, the bartender(stocky bald guy) nodded in our direction, then walked to the other end of the bar, where he stood talking to some customers, who were waiting for their food. He stood there, chatting, ignoring us. For ten minutes. We left. If your idea of a good time is being ignored, go for it.

Big fan of 5 napkin, I even hunted one down in Miami, FL. So on a nice wednesday night in UWS, my friend and I sat outside and thy servers never forgot about us, as I’ve experienced in other patio seating situations. Had a great time, the classic 5 napkin is one of my favorites and the cheddar tots were stellar. They have a small but solid draft selection, 8 or 10 beers, a ton of bottle options and a full bar otherwise. Have an onion ring and some burgers, 5 napkin is always a great choice.

I’m from Southern California, which makes me a burger snob and connoseur(sp). My verdict here? To quote Jimmie JJ Walker(or is it JJ Jimmie Walker): «DYNOOOO-MITTEEE!!!» Onion rings were surreal, with just the right batter to onion ratio. I didn’t have their ‘signature’ burger, but rather, this blue cheese one, and it was awesome — a «plump» non-dry medium.(I don’t do bloody because blood drowns out beef flavor.)

We were between this place and Chipotle. I wanted to come here and get my beef on, so I thought I’d take a shot. Bottom line– overpriced, and not that good. When your gf tells you we should’ve gone to Chipotle instead and saved $ 40, it’s time to reevaluate some choices. I’ll start with the positive. The service is what earned both stars. Our server was great, attentive, and cared about making us happy and I could tell. Décor also was fine. Their French fries were very crispy. Here’s some points of opportunity– I started with the tomato soup which tasted like warm V8 and its only saving grace was the cheddar flake on top. Underseasoned, bland, made me very sad. A good tomato soup has a rich creamy flavor profile and almost buzzes at the tongue. We both got the five napkin classic burger for main course. I ordered mine medium well and it was fine. Again I feel like the seasoning was a little light but was better. I enjoyed the rosemary aioli and think it combines with the grilled onions and elevates the burger very well. My gf’s was undercooked and bloody. She ordered it medium but it was definitely more on the rare side and that really put a damper on everything. $ 55 – 60 is very pricey for a burger place. Either bring the prices down or elevate the quality/cookery or ideally both.

Love Five Napkin UWS! Surprisingly, the sushi was awesome. The extensive menu made me hesitant, but literally everything we got was delicious. The service was great! Our waitress was attentive and super funny. If you go ask for the manager Boston Brian! He came over to make sure everything was good, and was such a nice guy. Thanks for everything five napkin! See you soon!

Their happy hour has great prices and a decent selection. I never tried a hand roll before, their spicy tuna and cucumber hand roll was pretty good. The bar tender was amicable and attentive. It was affordable and had a cool laid back ambiance. Will definitely keep coming.

Came in for sunday night happy hour(10p — 12a) after a movie. $ 5 cosmos and wine, and $ 3 beers, as well as sliders and hand rolls for $ 2 a piece and $ 0.50 wings. I had the sliders with rosemary aioli and caramelized onions — the toppings were great, but the burgers themselves had no seasoning. Cosmos were good and so was service at the bar. Will definitely come back after watching a movie on Sunday night. But won’t order a burger.

Pancakes were on fleek!!!(I can’t believe I just used that word). My pancakes were bursting with blueberries! I mean BURSTING!!! I was going to go with a burger considering the name of this place and the waiter said they are known for their burgers. I also saw some good burgers around me and no one with pancakes. So why would I get pancakes at a burger joint!!! Well, my Aunt is an awesome cook. No really, wherever she goes everyone wants her to cook. She’ll make a simple wrap and people think it’s the best thing they’ve ever eaten. Cooking is science and she has this down pat. One of the reasons I keep coming back for a visit. She kept telling me about the pancakes and for some reason I didn’t believe her… at first and then I got knocked in the head with some sense and remembered she knows what she’s talking about. Now I love Cracker Barrel pancakes… when they’re done right. Thin and crispy edges. mmm… These joints were better. I toe those joints UP! A couple side dishes of lamb sausage added that salt component I need when I have something sweet. I didn’t think I was going to eat all of the 5 pancakes, because I was hungry but not that hungy, but I couldn’t leave not one morsel on that plate. The blueberries were so fresh. The syrup was perfect, with a rich robust flavor and it was warm. They brought out the butter at room temperature so it was kind of soft(you have to request this). I love that this place is only several blocks down the street from the apt. Def. going back for Sunday brunch next time. My only gripe… they brought out my pancakes without my sausage. My aunt and I both waited like 10 or more minutes for this. I mean I NEED to eat both of my dishes together. If necessary cook the sausage first and put it in a warmer, considering pancakes cook faster. Time management people! But gold star for the pancakes!

An additional star simply for the toasted marshmallow within my s’mores shake, which I wouldn’t even have found had I not looked inside. Awful service*, overpriced and underwhelming shake = won’t be back, don’t understand why it was so packed at 5ish given happy hour is 10pm-close here. SMORESSHAKE — shake itself was a joke, and underfilled because they don’t seem to understand displacement well enough to give you the ounces you deserve $ 6.00 $ 0.53 Special Offer -$ 5.00 Total $ 1.53 *How it can take 17 minutes for a shake, all the while the bartender grumbled and evaded my payment(«I don’t really get that whole thing», before asking 2 other colleagues and eventually summoning the courage to enter the 4 digits himself). A colleague placed a to-go bag on the other end of the bar as if it were leftovers for a table or a pending delivery, but 5 minutes later the bartender decided it was time I be handed it «oh this is yours by the way». It was also another stellar hospitality touch to be inelegantly reminded 4x to not bail on the bill via MyCheck.
