A & A Shoe Repair

I brought in a watch to have the steel bracelet resized and it was a terrible mistake. The guy started hammering the watch to connect links on a glass counter top without any protection and ended up scratching the bracelet in multiple places and also creating a deep scratch on the bezel of the watch. He also lost a bushing and inserted the pins in wrong direction. He has zero clue how to do this.
I took the watch to Pauler’s jeweler to have the scratches polished out. If you want watch resized or for simple repairs goto the barber shop on the northeast corner of 86^th (subway station).
Avoid this place like the plague.

I brought in an expensive piece of leather to this shop.
I presented the item to the polite men working at the shop, and explained to them that I need additional holes made so that the garment will fit me.
I asked them to make 4 holes on each side.
I would definitely recommend this shop if you have leather items that need to be altered.
They say that a certain population keeps shoe repair shops in business -:wink: and that was apparent in the friendly service I received!
I returned later in the afternoon to find that my item was ready early.
They did a very good job.
The only complaint I have is that I asked for 4 holes to be made on each side of the item, and they made 3. They did in fact charge me for 4 holes on each side. I do not know if I should return and ask for another explaining I paid. I am sure it was an honest mistake. I did not want to stand there scrutinizing it for long. I may consider bringing it back for the rest, but only if the item does not fit.
So this shop definitely gets my approval despite their mistake. The work itself was very good, and I will take «items» here in the future if needed.
