My boyfriend and I love this place. Customer service is always great. Wine is always awesome.

Vitor, the owner, makes you feel like they are cooking just for you. Amazing pastas, delicate seafood broths and an intriguing and reasonable wine list. I ate here 3 days in a row this week. Ok. Actually 4. It’s that good

Not surprised to see Aroma hold 4 stars with over 200 reviews. The food and service is excellent. So are the wine choices, of which there is an abundance. Went there with no reservation and took bar seats. Within moments we had awesome wine and 20 minutes later we were eating fantastic food. Between my 3 friends and I we had spaghetti, salmon, pasta fagioli, and if the wine wasn’t so good I’d probably be able to remember wha my other friend had. I wish I’d gotten the names of the employees who served us(they were there Saturday April 2nd). Aroma is a very chill and classy place to go if you want to avoid the noise and impress your date. Even the bar seats were cozy. The prices were reasonable too, even if the servings were a tad small and left us begging for more.

Get out your wallets folks — $ 80 for a half a bottle of Italian wine — but wow. Great atmosphere, and service. We were only here for 20 minutes to get a drink — at the tune of $ 40 a glass, lol, but we were in love with the place. So rustic! So Italian! And it was Valentine’s Day so my honey spent the money.

Really pretty restaurant. I love the décor. The staff is great. Very attentive and friendly. But the food is just not good. Started w/the braised octopus, meatball and gnudi. The meat of the meatball tasted weird and had pieces of fat and the sauce was tasted like it from a can. The octopus was ok but not great. The gnudi was not gnudi. It was ok but strange. I can’t describe it. For entrée had the fusilli w/oxtail ragu and the black ink linguini. Both pretty bad. The fusilli had no flavor and the sauce again was like from a can. Needed salt. And the oxtail ragu was just chunks of meat. And the black ink linguini had more flavor but just ok. The menu looked really good but the execution was poor. Would not go back.

First review on Unilocal, but since that’s how I found this place… I think it deserves the attention after the wonderful experience I had. Having been led astray by enticing Unilocal reviews before, I made reservations for Valentine’s day about a week or two in advance asking for a cozy corner– if possible. My wonderful date and I were greeted and served by Martino who took great care of us throughout the meal. We partook of the Valentine’s day pre fixe menu for dinner with the wine pairing. I intended to treat my date to a romantic dinner for two and Aroma and Martino definitely delivered on that part. All staff were polite and courteous, the lights were dim, the music was slow, romantic, and in another language. The food was great-down to the olives that came with our bread(try the salmon). In sharing wine with my lady and noticing how her parings didn’t go with my food speaks enough for how deep into the details the chef went to assemble the menu. I love the place. Even at the end when my date and I had finished our desserts and finished our wine, we were not promptly ushered out of the door. In fact it was the opposite, Martino invited us to stay and chat as long as we wanted while we finished our drinks or even order more(if we so decided). I can’t speak for how this place is during normal hours, but judging from this one visit, this place deserves its reputation on Unilocal.I’d say they deserve more stars. TL;DR The food was great. The service was impeccable. The atmosphere was as intimate and romantic as anyone could ask for. 10⁄10 would come again.

OMG! I’m a picky person but this place is amazing. Cutest little Italian restaurant with amazing wine/appetizer/food/dessert. I’m not a Risotto person but got it based on the recommendation and was blown away. Octopus salad was also amazing. The same as Tiramisu. Make reservation as the place is tiny.

Very cozy. Almost like being in someone’s home. Our waiter was hilarious and service was very good. Food was rustic and very good. We shared the arancini, cheese and meat plates. The pastas were lovely. A quite enjoyable evening.

Quite a charming spot! Usually you need a reservation day of otherwise you can sit at the bar/booth. They have a downstairs area built very similar to Europe itself, through a hidden stair way and around a steep turn you’ll find too cozy dining rooms. The food was delicious. We had a vegetarian pasta dish and the salmon/asparagus dish. The pasta was more of my favorite because I would prefer a rich sauce versus a vegetarian sauce with my fish. The desserts were about $ 9 each and the chocolate molten brownie was awesome, I ate the entire thing myself! :-D Wines can run you quite the tab — ranging from $ 15 up a glass :(The staff is VERY nice. The manager, Aliana is super friendly, she chatted with us for quite a bit and has wonderful inspirational stories. I’m glad we tried this spot and it will be a go-to when we are in town. :) Enjoy!

I came here on a Friday night and overall had a great experience. The dining room itself is in the back of the restaurant and is intimate and cozy while the front part of the restaurant is more of a walk-in, stand-up, loud area. The dining room is definitely more of a date ambiance than a catch-up-with-your-friends-loudly deal. We sat in the dining room which made for a great date. We both got pastas to start with, a bottle of wine, and dessert to finish. The pastas were pretty good, but I wouldn’t say they were amazing. I got the strascinati with lamb sausage and mushroom, and it was pretty good. Definitely very mushroom-y, so if you don’t love mushrooms, don’t get it. For dessert, we got the sorbet trio, and it was really good. The homemade sorbet is flavorful and fruity, and it’s served on this amazing soft biscuit. Overall I think this is a great date spot and I had a good experience. I think if I’m here again, I’d try an entrée as opposed to pasta, but other than that I have no complaints.

We love this place. They expanded into the apartment behind the Resturant. First the staff is immensely helpful. Second the olives are marinated in their own olive oil and nothing short of amazing. Fresh mozzarella and basil with roasted cherry tomatoes was devistatinglty yummy. The wine –a decanted brunello. Dinner: lemon tagliolini, New Bedford sea scallops, pink peppercorn, prosecco or the salmon or the anything on the menu Just the right amount of lemon! orecchiette ortolana, kale, broccolini, cream of cauliflower, shiitake, pine nuts Spicy and earthy what a combo!

The food was adequate. However, I asked for iced tea to drink as I can not have alcohol. I was charged $ 12 for my iced tea! I could have gotten something much better for $ 12. Overpriced and unreasonable. Very disappointed.

We had reservations for a table at 7:30 on a Friday night. We were given a choice of tables on the main floor or the lower level. Knowing previous review comments to stay away from the lower level unless you wanted to dine solo, we opted for the main level. This is a small restaurant and the décor was all about wine. Our server, Martino, was friendly and offered a great suggestion from a small but very selective and Italian heavy wine list. We wanted the steaks or the short ribs; we were informed politely they were«out”(at 7:30PM!). So we ordered pastas and I will have to say, the dishes were disappointing. The pasta was obviously home made, but the entire dish was missing flavor. In a word, they were bland. One appetizer we ordered was the meatballs. Not bad overall, but we had much better for much less. The ambiance was great, but I am giving this 2 ½ stars because the food simply did not meet the high scores by other reviewers. The Scorecard: Value for Money: C Ambiance: A… Cool place Service: B… … friendly and prompt Food: C… Average at best

Every time I come here this place doesn’t stop to surprise me and please me. The ambient is so welcoming and romantic that’s the only place you want to be in this cold winter. Perfect for a date, a friendly happy hour with friends or a nice and cozy dinner with few selected. Wine selection is always updated and of high quality and served by the flawless service of Luis at the bar. And the food is always surprisingly amazing cured by the touch of Chef Vito. Definitely coming back again!

We ate there last year. We’re going to try and make it back in a couple of weeks Vito. We had an amazing time and you gave us a grand tour of the place. Looking forward to it. If anyone is looking for a chance to leave the country without getting on a plane, go here. You’ll feel like you need a passport, but the only thing that’s required is a cab ride home after all the wine.

Recently stopped in for after-dinner drinks. This place specializes in authentic Italian cuisine and serves only Italian wine. We sat at the bar and were served by Luis from Spain. He was extremely friendly and helped us choose a nice half bottle for the night. We told him what we were looking for and he was able to deliver. The bar is nice and quite well suited for conversation. We even got to know Luis a little bit. The restaurant looks small from the outside but there is a dining space towards the back and also 2 private dining rooms in the cellar. A bonus of sitting at the bar was that I got to see all the dishes come up through a food elevator located at the bar(the kitchen is in the basement). It all looked delicious. I hope to come back and try the food.

Not to be confused with nearby Aroma Espresso Bar /Café, this spot boasts a subterranean event space(farmhouse room) down a harrowing set of stairs*. Our charismatic Spanish server was both enthusiastic and informative, with a 3-wine tasting, a family style burrata aperitivo to share, and a 3-item aperitivo to follow(arancini, veal meatball, other meatball). Solid food and better service; didn’t foot the bill so skipped the Unilocal checkin deal. *These could certainly be dangerous for those who imbibe more

We were visiting New York to catch up with some friends who live in the area that we hadn’t seen for a long time. We ended up meeting at Aroma on a Friday night. The restaurant is small; so small in fact that we were seated in the the downstairs area in the wine cellar where they normally hold private events. They sat another party of 3 in the same room as us. Once the wine started flowing we got too loud for them, and they actually tried to shush us. But, not a single f*** was given and we just kept doing our thing. The menu can be pricey, but at least for the food that my wife and I tried, it feel like the appropriate price. I ordered a special of duck leg and she got the black linguine with squid and lobster broth. The duck was cooked very well and the meat was tender and rich; the portion was of a good size. The pasta was good but I failed to taste the lobster broth(it may have gotten overwhelmed by the squid). The wine selection was good and they had a range of prices(To paraphrase Homer Simpson: «Give me your second least-expensive bottle of wine»). The sangiovese we tried was phenomenal. It was my birthday weekend and my friends arranged for the waiter to bring a birthday dessert to the table as well as playing a special birthday song over their sound system(and I’m not saying the song because it’s embarrassing and there’s a long story behind it). I didn’t notice any speed issues with service but then again we were too busy drinking and chatting to notice. This is a great little restaurant and it’s perfect for catching up and chatting with friends.

I went here on a first date, and it was the perfect atmosphere for something casual but also had a super cozy feel for a more intimate occasion. The service has to be commended because we dealt with at least 3 different hostesses/servers, and they were all as hospitable as could be. Everyone from the woman who sat us to the bartender to our server(the absolute most adorable guy straight from Italy) were all extremely welcoming. The wine selection was great, and they have options to order half-bottles which was perfect for two people. Food is a bit pricy, but we had a really delicious cheese plate that came with some awesome spreads and jams. They have a decent amount of seating, but it’s not huge. Adds to the cozy feel of the place though! I would definitely recommend this place and will for sure go back on another occasion.
