You are a good man, John/​Sadik! Not sure about the validity of the previous reviews, but I had nothing short of a great experience here.
I brought in a piece that I needed framed asap (within 24 hours) and he did framework for me in 5 hours. Plus, his frames were half off at the time.

I found this place through a Groupon and decided to try it with a small job I’d normally pay $ 70 for. He inflated the price to over $ 200 with a lame excuse about good glass. Besides that, his shop was dirty and disorganized, his mattes were limited, and he had no aesthetic sense.

I purchased a voucher through Livingsocial: $ 100 credit for $ 18 or so. I did the obvious thing to go into the business and get an estimate for the job of framing a soccer jersey (which came out to be 25-​inch by 40-​inch frame) BEFORE telling Djorou (employee working today’s shift around 5 pm). The frame cost was $ 18 per foot for nothing glamorous by the way. Out of the blue, the employee pulled out a $ 280 tag. After I bargained with him, he brought it down to $ 260. When the employee was ready to take my money, I informed him that I had $ 100 credit with my voucher. Long story short, the employee did not want to honor the voucher, cursed me out without me being rude at all, and told me numerous times to go f**k myself. I saw finished products at the place which look great but you will definitely get ripped off. I took my jersey, walked out, and plan on asking Livingsocial for a refund of my money.

I am so glad I found this place! I just got back from Paris and bought a beautiful 16×20 painting of the city from a street vendor for 60 euros… I get back here and realize that on top of framing it, the painting needs to be stretched. I went to 6 framing places in the 80s on UES and the quotes I got were insane! I didn’t want to end up spreading more than 5 times the amount I actually paid for this art (no disrespect to the street artist;). I stopped in this location and the guy was a love! Totally sweet and helpful and he quoted me 150 $ cheaper than any other quote. And the best thing is I went for the more expensive gold frame I didn’t dare ask at the other places. It came out gorgeous and very expensive looking:) He ended up fixing a broken picture/​mirror that was an heirloom. So grateful! I’m so glad I know about this place now… thanks again! –Natalie
