Artopolis is a great café. The coffee is constantly good and the food definitely satisfies. The staff is always super friendly. It’s a great place to get breakfast or a post-work coffee.

Good prices for a place near Columbia University. The banana nutella strawberry crêpe was very generous on the ingredients. Wished the crêpe was a bit crispier. Omelette and sausage crêpe was tasty but not quite salty enough. Needed something a little more. The potatoes it came with were on the soggy side of crispy. The house blend coffee was drinkable but nothing to write home about. All in all a decent place for brunch that won’t break the bank.

Artopolis is one of my favorite places to go to with friends. It’s close to campus, it has a nice ambiance, and the menu has a wide selection with great brunch deals on weekends. The food has also improved over the past year or two. My favorite savory item is the Spicy Chicken crêpe and my favorite sweet crêpe is the Seasonal Fruit with Greek Yogurt and Nutella — it’s not too sweet and the greek yogurt makes it quite filling. Sometimes service can be slow, but you can ask for things if you’re in a rush.

Love the crepes! Mouth watering desserts on display — tried the tiramisu! Can’t wait to check out the rest.

Came here for brunch when visiting some friends at Columbia University. We walked over and arrived around noon, so it was pretty busy as expected. We wanted crepes and waffles so this was the perfect place to go! We only waited for about 10 minutes and were then seated by at a nice table by the window. We were quickly greeted and brought over water and our drinks. I ordered a cappuccino, one of my friends got a latte, and the rest coffee. The cappuccino was really strong and delicious! All of my friends mentioned that the house blend coffee was also very good. The latte had a really pretty design on it as well. I decided to order the nutella and mixed berries Belgian waffle. It was presented beautifully and was even topped with vanilla gelato. The fruit was fresh and the waffle was fluffy and warm. It was just what I wanted and filled me up! My friends also got some crepes — the apple compote and mixed seasonal berries crepes and they looked very good! They all come with drizzled warm nutella sauce and for some reason, it tastes a lot better than regular nutella. Super yummy and complements the seasonal berries. I couldn’t help but notice the plethora of desserts I saw in the restaurant and being brought to other tables while we were eating. All of the tarts, pies. and cakes looked amazing! I want to go back just to try one of the cakes. The food and dessert here are a little bit pricey but for the area it’s on par. Also, there is not too much seating so around the afternoon expect to wait a little. I gave 4⁄5 stars for the delicious coffee and brunch food, and amount of dessert options. However, there was a bit of a wait and it’s a bit expensive. Other than that, we had no problems with service or anything else!

12PM, starve to death. Gotta get out and have some breakfast. 114 street, a small board with its name on. At first I didn’t noticed the«wait for table service» sign. I ordered a breakfast combo at the cashier and I told her for 3 times I want it here. I believe she repeated«to go“till the last time. Then i noticed the«table service» sign, and I waited and waited until the guy finally noticed me. I asked my server if I need to order something else and she said no. Then she asked the guy and told me I have to. I added a strawberry banana crips. My breakfast were decent. The combo(sausage, potato, egg crumble) was actually a wrap cut in half. The wrap was crispy and inside were hot and flavored. Quite nice Id say. Crepes was standard. Creams on both sides.

There are several aspects that determine the quality of a café, and the variance of Artopolis’s quality across these dimensions is high. However, I think the reviews are currently biased toward evaluating Artopolis along only one dimension(sit-down service/food), so I wanted to contribute my two cents. This is a great place to get coffee to go in the morning. The line is never more than a few people long; there’s usually just 0 people or 1 person ahead of me when I go, whether I’m there at 8 a.m. or 11 a.m. They are the only café in the area that has my favorite syrup – Nutella!!! Add it to a latte or café au lait and thank me later. Their plain lattes/coffee are also better than those of Starbucks, though I am admittedly not the most sophisticated coffee drinker and cannot compare it to all the cafes in the area. I noticed several reviewers didn’t like that their food’s Nutella was syrupy and not like the spread. I too would be dismayed if I wanted actual Nutella and got the syrup instead, but the syrup is great for coffee drinks. :P The sit-down service was pretty slow the few times I’ve sat down here, but the baristas are super speedy and nice! The one who is usually there when I go has already memorized my detailed order. :) I’m not into their baked goods. There’s something artificial/possibly stale about their mousses/cakes. Their macarons are pretty good though. Get coffee here!!!

This place was alright, but not what we were looking for. We just wanted to go to a coffee shop like café, but this place was more like a restaurant that also serves coffee. The coffee was okay, but overall it’s not a place to sit and relax.

I come here almost daily. It is my favorite coffee stop and dessert stop. The brunch is also very good and often made two step away from you at the counter. I have taken everyone that has visited me here and they loved it! With your brunch you get a drink and a full meal(unlike most places in New York where they half your meal for a drink and maybe even raise the price). It is a bit pricey but I haven’t had a bad experience yet!

I don’t understand why this place got such low reviews. I understand that the service is sometimes slow here, but I’ve never had a bad experience. I would come here all the time when I lived in this neighborhood. They had pretty delicious crepes that I would order with a coffee. They have an awesome brunch deal where you get your coffee with your meal between certain hours. They have outdoor seating, which is really nice in the summer time. It also never gets too busy, so you’ll always have a seat outside or inside booth. I also found it was quite enough to journal or read a book. I’ve even brought my computer to do work here because they have free wifi if you ask for it. I think people need to try it before they are quick to judge about this place.

The cookies and macaroons are good. It’s also a good crêpe place.

Coffee shop meets casual dining meets small bar! I’ve been coming here 3 nights a week for nearly two years for coffee, pastries and the occasional dinner. Everything is excellent from the quality of food, awesome décor, amazing staff, great music playing at the perfect volume to still have a conversation and now there is happy hour until 10:00pm!!!

Nous n’avons pris que des boissons fraiches donc je né noterai pas la partie nourriture même si à la vue de certaines choses je n’aurais pas été tentée si j’avais eu faim. Mais les boissons né sont pas trop chères et on nous laisse prendre notre temps.

We dropped by to get takeaway 2 cups of espresso and 1 café au lait. As paper cups of hot coffee were too hot to hold. My partner decided to sit at chairs outside the restaurant so we sat and waited a bit(it was about 2ish) A waiter came right away and almost threw a menu on us. A few minutes passed, he came back and said that we were not allowed to sit with not a nice tone of voice. Almost chasing us away. We are all civilized people and we listen. Just tell us with reasons we will understand. He’s such a person with a bad attitude/manner. Definitely not come back here! Coffee was not that good also.

If you are in the mood for the kind of lite, brunchy fare Artopolis offers(savory and sweet crepes, salads, sandwiches, assorted bakery items), you will do just fine here. Not amazing, not life-changing, but totally, completely fine. For savory, I recommend the ham and cheese crêpe with honey mustard; for sweet, try the nutella crêpe topped with strawberries and bananas(a classic). I’m disappointed they recently eliminated their wide selection of gelato. Although I understand it’s probably a costly venture if business doesn’t pay, I might still keep some vanilla or chocolate on hand to accommodate those who like it on or with their crepes/waffles/breakfast goods. Service and atmosphere are fine(again, there’s that word!), but forgettable. Come here for a late night treat to catch up with an old friend or at the tail end of a good date.

The environment is okay. There are way too many chairs and tables in this tiny area inside. However, I do not like that there are so many flies in there. The moment I sat, a waiter came and assisted me right away. After I got my food, no one came to see if everything was okay or if I needed anything else. Bummer. The food was okay as well. I got the goat cheese and mushroom omelet(egg white) in a crêpe. It could’ve used a lil more flavor. The meal also came with potatoes(amazing!) and coffee(watered down). For about $ 11, I probably wouldn’t try this place again. Sorry guys…

Artopolis is the absolute neighborhood go-to for espresso, pastries, crepes, salads, and more. The amazing coffee/seating/internet combination is simply the best around Morningside Heights. Service is always friendly and even after only a few visits the employees remember your favorite orders and treat you like a regular. Favorite items have got to be the Greek yogurt, Greek salad, croissants and the black beauty smoothie. Only complaint is that croissants run out fast in the evenings!

Artopolis? How about Atrocialis becasue that is what my experience was. Atrocious. Let me just start by saying«If you cant be busy, you cant be in business.» I do not find it acceptable by any means to say that our service or food quality fell off due to the fact that we were busy. I sat outside at this little Café on Amsterdam, waiting for my sn to do his Boy Scout project. I asked inside before I sat down and the nice lady behind the counter said seat yourself. My waitress came about 15 minutes later. After I had already got my own menu. She was pleasant but this was going to be a long day. She took my order and came back 20 minutes later with coffee and warm bottled tap water. Warm bottled tap water? I finished that cup of coffee and waited. 30 minutes later my breakfast burrito and chips came and she asked if i wanted more coffee. Yes please. The burrito inside was good. The totilla it came in was stale at best. Not toasted. Stale. 30 minutes later the waitress came back and said«OMG. More coffe right?!» 10 minutes later. She came back. Seh said would you like a cookie for waiting so long? A cookie? Really. She mentioned that the restaurant was not used to being that busy. Really? On a Saturday morning, acroos from St. Luke’s hospital, down the street from Columbia University on Amsterdam avenue you place is not used to being crowded? Well after that last cup of coffee, I walked to my car a block away, without even being noticed and walked back to a still empty cup and no check. I asked for the check and one more cup of coffee which I propmptly drank and paid the check. I am not a upper west side regular, but I know this I wont be going back here… ever.

Have been here twice, once where I tried the hot chocolate and another when I tried the chocolate mousse cake. The place is a little expensive and one of the times the guy working there was sort of rude, but the food itself is very good. The chocolate mousse cake is all you could ask for if you’re a chocolate lover– I’d highly recommend it. And the hot chocolate is honestly phenomenal– some of the best I’ve had. UPDATE: Lowered the review because I tried the strawberry banana nutella crêpe and was so, so disappointed! It was honestly one of the worst crepes I’ve tasted. On top of that, the workers were extremely rude about my family sitting with me when i had very clearly bought food.

Wide selection of pastries, desserts, and decent coffee! Lots of flavors, but I just went with the original house blend. PS. They keep milk, cream, soy milk, and sugar on the side in Keurig-looking dispensers, if that saves you any trouble. They have plenty of seating so if you like you can wait to be seated(indoor or outdoor).

I rarely ever give any businesses five stars, but this one is defiantly deserving of it. I started coming here pretty often as a Columbia student as this is right off campus and is a really nice location. Food: My favorite here is the strawberry banana neutella crepes, it is addicting beyond words. I eat it one day and still crave it the next, this is in part due to the fact the the crepes are crunchy, fruits are fresh, and of the famous neutella effect(I once ate a whole bottle of neutella over a weekend because it’s so addicting). 5⁄5 Drinks: I enjoy the coffee, cappuccinos, and especially the mimosas here — they are indeed top class for this joint! I love it when its the weekend and you get to order the bottomless coffee and mimosas, because I leave smiling and slightly buzzed. 5⁄5 Price: The price here is really good for what you get. Especially for brunch when you can get free mimosas and coffee with any entrees or pay a little bit to upgrade to bottomless which is what I do. On the regular day it’s a little more expensive, but this is Morningside Heights in NYC which in that standard the price is very justifiable. 4.5÷5 Location: I love the location, it’s perfect and is in a safe place. The place itself is very nice and cute, kind of have a French/Italian theme influence to it. I enjoy seeing other Columbia students and professors hanging out here every day talking about their research and life. It’s a must visit if you are a visitor and a great place for Columbia members. 4.7÷5 Overall: This place is worthy of a 5 star.
