This could be the most under appreciated restaurant on the UES. I have dined here countless times and enjoyed the food, the drink and service. I don’t know the bartender’s name, but he’s on top of everything going on at the bar to a degree that I would call him a professional. That extend as to his interpersonal skills. It’s a Belgian restaurant, mainly in terms of its bar. The food is more eclectic. The parsnip purée is to die for. The soups and fish of the day are always good choices. In terms of beer, I recommend La Chouffe. In terms of wine, it’s the Gruner. The 5 – 7 happy hour is a good deal – lobster roll, frites and beer for $ 15. There’s no need to go to Belgium with B Café in East 75th Street.

Adorable joint tucked away in UES. No bottomless deal, but it’s not really that kind of crowd. Really good food and even better beers in a quaint garden makes for a nice, leisurely brunch with friends. The restaurant is garden level so it’s a little dark in the interior space. Only one bathroom means long line for the bathroom right next to you while you’re trying to eat your food. I did feel a bit rushed from the service(plates were prematurely cleared) but our server was extremely friendly. Food is reasonably priced and the selection is all delicious. Eggs Benedict has a smoked salmon option and comes with creamy poached yolk and fluffy english muffin. You also get frites as a side with spicy mayo and ketchup. Other standouts include the Norwegian salad for the smoked salmon fans, and a knowledgeable waitstaff who are pretty good about giving beer recommendations. Overall, really good experience and I would definitely recommend!

This place has all the frame work to be a great restaurant. It has a nice atmosphere, and a good beer menu. Unfortunately the food is a problem. Everything tasted a little off, I should have trusted my instinct and stopped eating. I ended up with food poisoning. In my life time I’ve only got food poisoning from one other restaurant. There are plenty of other Belgium options in the area, this place is obviously doing something wrong with the food, I will not be putting myself in a position to get sick again. Be safe, avoid seafood dishes.

Came here for dinner on a Wednesday evening. Wasn’t too packed. A party of 8, they seated us in an extended room at the back of the establishment. There’s a nice bar when you first walk in, which advertises a happy hour lobster roll and beer special. I don’t recommend this, as you get what you paid for. The lobster did not taste fresh and the bread was not well toasted. However, that aside, the rest of the meal was delicious. Crab cakes and tuna tar tar as appetizers, seared scallops for my main entrée. It’s hard to get tuna tartar wrong, and this one was just as tasty as any other ones I’ve had at other shops. Crab cakes were decent, not the best. A bit too dry for me. Scallops were nicely cooked and chewy. It comes with asparagus and a parsnip purée which I enjoyed, has the texture of mashed potatoes and definitely looks like it as well. Got the Belgian waffles and as a dessert, which was average. Would come back here to try their brunch menu sometime.

Let’s start by this place being hard to notice since I’d lived a couple blocks away for a year before walking in, but I’m glad to have found it. My girlfriend lived in Belgium for years and I frequented too, so we are into Belgo grub. We both agreed that everything was on point that we tried, including the availability of great Belgian beers and kriek for her. The ambiance is maybe a bit lacking, but we will be back to try more of the menu.

Great local place on the UES. My husband and I have been going there for many years. In my opinion, seafood dish is the best. When I bring my teenage children there, they love the hamburgers and fries.

I love B. Café. Whenever I’m in the area, I like to stop by for the egg sandwich and usually a beer. Ask to sit outside on a nice day, and you won’t be disappointed.

Your regular New York brunch place — which serves some good food but the standout here is the beer list and the outdoor garden ! It’s perfect for a summer afternoon .or even a winter afternoon in 2015! We were there on Christmas and the outdoors was still nice and comfortable . The food was your regular brunch affair with sandwiches, eggs, waffles and pancakes . The madam croque was good with a nice side salad. The Belgian waffles with chicken was a great surprise and the pancakes were nice and fresh — really nothing to complain about the food. The beers– so glad that we chose this place, they had the regular Belgian favs such as the Stella, Hoegarden and the leffe but they also had a few that were not so common– loved the triple Kramliet — this one is a must try for beer lovers . All in all a great place — in the quieter upper east side of NY

Waffle was OK but smallish and also was served on the same plate as the salad(with dressing lapping at the waffle). Waffle was served without butter and with a tiny quantity of maple syrup. Butter when requested took too long(my waffle was getting cold, ok?). Generally OK but only a 3 of 5 for moi

Ugh. 2 girls on, a line 8 deep, and one just keeps putting price stickers on cookies or something. The girl behind register is slow as molasses. I was afraid to order a bagel, so I opted for the cranberry muffin. It was decent. I’ve been here b4 and always the same deal.

I was here for brunch with friends and the food was amazing. We loved this place so much we returned again only two weeks later! First we started with mussels and fries. They had about five flavors of mussels to try, we chose the curry flavored mussels. They were mildly spicy and delicious. The fries were decent and served with ketchup, a spicy mayonnaise, and a plain mayonnaise. I got the pancakes with berries which were served with cinnamon butter and syrup on the side. It had a small amount of berries on top of the pancakes topped with whipped cream. These pancakes were very fluffy and some of the best I have had. We also got the eggs florentine and the waffles topped with eggs and bacon. You can have the eggs any style. The omelette was delicious and had a nice amount of vegetables and cheese. The second time I was here I had the Spinach, tomato and Gruyère cheese omelette which again, was excellent. My friend had the Norwegian salad which she said was excellent. Then we had the French Toast for dessert which also was great. It was very busy both times so it is important to make reservations for brunch. The service was excellent. The second time it seemed like they may have been rushing us. Someone took away one of our plates that still had a lot of fries left on it while we were still eating it. We told our waitress and she brought us a fresh order of fries to replace it.

Their salmon salad was good but it wasn’t anything special. The waiters were pretty slow and the place wasn’t even full. Wanted to try this place but probably won’t be coming back.

I’d say this is a hidden gem but clearly it isn’t because it was poppin off during Sunday brunch today. I’ll start with the«eh.» My friend called ahead and we were told to arrive at 1:30. We didn’t get seated until 2:15 because people had reservations. What was the point in calling ahead then? I don’t know. Annoying. Anyway, the food here is bomb, you can’t beat the prices and the portions are generous. My friend and I were being total fattys and got three meals to split — Benedict florentine, goat cheese veggie omelette and French toast. Both egg dishes cams with fries and greens. And the chipotle mayo that comes with the fries… oh boy. The French toast melted in my mouth — soooo good. Can’t wait to come back(and make a phantom reservation).

My boyfriend and I came here last night for early dinner. It was pretty good! We both shared the cheese croquettes. We both liked the peppercorn dipping sauce they came with. For the main, he got the beef stew and really liked it. I tried a bite myself and it tastes like beef brisket. I didn’t feel like mussels, so instead I had the chicken vol au vent which was creamy with tender chicken and mushrooms. It comes with a puff pastry. Both entrees came with their delicious, crunchy fries. Someone said they’re not as good as McDonald’s fries, but I personally think they’re better. They have a really nice selection of Belgian beers on draft. The 5 beer flight for $ 18 is a nice way to sample them. You get to choose what beers you want to try so when you come next time you know which one to get. I got the Lindemans Framboise which I really loved because I like fruity drinks :-) My boyfriend took a sip and said«This is beer??» Overall we would definitely come back! Next time I’ll try their mussels :-)

Great food(amaaaazzzinnggggg fries!) but the service is horrendous! It took an hour to get our food once we placed the order. And they didn’t bring the ketchup we asked for until we were almost done w the meal. It’s a shame because the food and ambiance of this place is great!

What I’ve tried: Brunch dishes– croque madame, egg sandwich, french toast Tip: Come here when you want some shady outdoor seating! There is a nice garden in the back with a fair amount of tables. Story: Came here for brunch a couple of times. The first time, I was very pleasantly surprised to see that they had a garden in the back with nice shade and seating areas. I’ve had the croque madame and have tried my friends’ egg sandwich and french toast. Both egg dishes were really great, but the french toast was nothing special.

Came here for brunch. They have a cute back garden patio, where my friend and I opted to sit. They have some interesting Belgian beers, and the«usual suspects» for brunch. My friend raved about their fries, so I had to get something that had fries. I ended up going with the eggs benedict. The eggs were poached well and the fries were indeed quite good. They came with an aioli and my friend requested hot sauce, which we mixed with the aioli.

This was my first NYC brunch experience and was extremely pleasantly surprised. I got the steak sandwich cooked medium which comes with a side of fries and a side salad. The fries were incredible and the steak was cooked to perfection. Only reason I didn’t give it a 5 stars is because the drinks were a bit pricey.

E-Scale: 10⁄10 GREAT food, they have Delerium in bottle and Lambic on tap(raspberry). The food(dinner and brunch) were amazing. Plus, the bartender and his geography lesson with the map behind the bar is pretty cool too. Its a small space so go during«off-peak» hours. Many belgium beers on draft including Lambic(raspberry), kwak, hoegaarden, stella, and leffe. More in bottles including Delerium(and Deleri noel during the holidays). For brunch I had the steak sandwich, it was absolutely well cooked and delicious. The meat was very tender and it also came with salad and fries. My boyfriend got the beef stew. For people who don’t like veggies this is perfect. Its a bit salty for me, but the bf loved it(he likes salty food). The french fries come with mustard, ketchup, and mayo to dip in. Some of the best fried I have had. Great with a meal or by themselves with a beer. My friends went once during happy hour and got all bar appetizers for $ 28 dollars. That includes: salami, pickles, olives, pâté, chicken skewers drizzled in hot buffalo wing sauce, cheese, and these fried meatballs in mayo. The salami was drier than normal but went really well with the mustard it came with. The mustard was very horse radish-y. I loved it. The chicken on skewers were dry but the sauce was amazing. You get 2 of them, but they are big. The best was the fried meatballs in mayo(you get 6 of them) The cheese cubes are served with the salami and both are great with the pickles. You get 2 types of pickles, regular pickled cucumbers sliced and the little whole ones. I personally do not like olives, but my friends who do say the kalamata olives are better than the green ones.
