I like Cyrk as a cocktail bar. The French Circus theme is charming and quaint without being twee. I know it says Italian, I know they serve pizza, but I don’t get an Italian vibe from them and I think their food isn’t the reason to come here. This is a perfect spot for a date, or any low key night. You can definitely have an intimate conversation here(as long as Tribeca parents don’t decide to bring their kids in for a pizza party– I mean seriously guys, this isn’t the place or the appropriate hour). Service was off the night I went. Me and a friend drank for about two hours and were never asked how we were doing. We asked for menus but were never asked what we wanted to order. Despite it not being very busy it proved hard to get anyone’s attention, so when we finally did get it we asked for the check. Everyone was extremely nice and polite, I think they just may need to reorganize how they serve customers. I’ve also ordered delivery and they do a lot of thicker white pies, while I’m a fan of saucy thin ones, so it’s hard for me to really judge their food. I will say I think duck bacon does not compare to regular bacon. Get excited, it’s something you don’t see too often, but I don’t think it lives up to the hype.

Tucked away in a side alley in Tribeca, I couldn’t have wished for a better venue to host our post-city hall nuptials than with Sarah and the all-star team at Bar Cyrk. From our first email correspondence to putting together a tailored itinerary of cocktails, appetizers and pricing options, and the actual service and follow-up all went perfectly. My fiancé and I definitely did our homework trying out various cocktails bars in the vicinity and nowhere else including the over-priced and over-hyped Bennett nearby offered the level of service, food and quality of cocktails as Cyrk. We are so happy with our choice and recommend it to anyone wanting to host an event there or just wanting to stop by for some wood fired pizza or small plates. Did I say the cocktails are great?

Love this place. Bar staff is so friendly, especially Matteo. They remember and hug regulars. Sophisticated drinks, casual but elegant vibe with an old world feel. The bar is circus themed, but it’s not gauche. Reminds you of something out of a 1940s movie with crystal chandeliers, flowers in tall glass vases and deep leather banquets. The pizzas cooking in the wood burning oven smelled amazing. Try the Chico, a refreshing grapefruit and infused gin cocktail(created by Matteo).

Unassuming location in between Hudson and Broadway. It would be easy to walk right past it, but the magic is INSIDE. It’s beautiful in there, feels old fashioned and glamourous. Beautiful décor, everything from tabletops to seats to the lighting at the bar. Like a gorgeous french circus. Lots of pretty people the night we went. Great for a date, great for ladies’ night. Small place, tight squeeze at the tables, but well worth the intimacy given the dark and the whole feel of the place. Love the music they play, and the menu is AWESOME! Love the pizza! Good drink selection, those cognacs kept coming, glass never empty. Really love this place, next time i stop by i’ll drop pics.

Did pizza takeaway. The pizza was good but the service was bad. Called in my order and they said 20 minutes. I arrive 20 minutes later and they have no record of my order. Had to wait another 20 minutes. The pizza is 4 out of 5 stars. The take away service was 0 out of 5 stars.

Great food, creative menu! The plain and circus ball pie were insanely good! The service was slow and forgetful but at least they were extremely friendly… so because of that I will look past that. Try the place but call ahead if its at night… they can get crowded.

This place was very beautiful and a great lunch spot while I was serving on jury duty across the street. Would come again if I were in the area. Ordered a slice of pizza($ 4) and a beer($ 8). Very friendly service.

I came over the weekend with a girlfriend for a quick drink in between events. This neighborhood is pretty weak in terms of nice spots for a cocktail. I turned to Unilocal and found this gem! The décor is stunning, the booths are intimate, the service was fantastic and most importantly the drinks were wonderful! If I catch myself in this neighborhood again I will definitely stop by. Don’t be afraid to create your own cocktail– I had a sparkling St Germain cocktail!

My brother and sister in law had their nuptials dinner here. The place is beautiful and very inviting. The music was perfect for the occasion. Frank Sinatra and such. The food was delicious. The service was impeccable. My plate was never empty and glass was always full. I highly recommend it to anyone who would like to throw their get together here. Preferably first part of the day because it gets crowded and noisy in the evening. Thanks for the great experience.

I visited Bar Cyrk with Joelle G. when they first opened and was quite impressed with how smoothly things were run. Friendly, attentive, efficient service coupled with delicious food and drink are always a winning combo for any new player in the restaurant game. My recos: The Ringmaster: Their signature pizza with fresh and aged mozzarella, grated parmesan and tomatoes, finished with imported olive oil and fresh basil. Tangy where it needed to be, crunchy where it needed to be, cheesy when it needed to be – you get my drift. This one’s a winner The Circus Ball: For the pizza lover who only likes white pizza(why it gotta be about color?), this should hit the spot with its mix of cheeses and and shiitake mushrooms, drizzled with truffle oil Egg Cream Cocktail: A potent medley of Valrhona chocolate, Crème de Cacao, Dark Chocolate Godiva and Seltzer for when you just want it thick, rich and creamy The Wildcat: Muddled strawberries, Florence fennel and vodka come together to sing in your mouth Sour Mango Martini: A more finicky option for those with more finicky tastes(i.e. not a crowd pleaser) Wonder Wheel: Perfect for hot summer days when you want something refreshing like muddled cucumbers, grapefruit reduction, rum and seltzer What really earned the seal of approval from me was the unexpected bonus of being treated to their coconut and tequila cupcakes. When asked why we were getting these, our server just shrugged and said, «Why not?» He did try to not-so-subtly push his fellow server as a potential date, but we politely declined between bites of free cupcake.

Great spot for brunch, and clearly a nice place for a date when they turn down the lights. Their brunch menu is extensive and well priced, I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say everything on their menu looked delicious. I got their poached eggs with duck rillettes on an english muffin and hollandaise sauce and it was spectacular. My friend got their pancakes with strawberry compote and was not disappointed. Their portions are generous and their waitstaff attentive. I’d also recommend trying their grapefruit soda which was refreshing. This place would be hard to find if you didn’t know about it though as there’s not much on the street to tell you it exists or to excite curiosity. Cyrks’ off the beaten path location does add a feeling that you’ve discovered a hidden gem and I suppose would make you seem in-the-know to friends.

It was a quiet rainy Sunday night that brought us to Bar Cyrk. My sister had said they served a good pizza and I can’t resist trying a new pizza place. I would have never thought this was a pizza parlour by the name. The modern interior was comfortable with banquettes and bar seating and just the right amount of noise level. We decided to sit at the bar. The bartender was friendly taking our drink order and we decided to try the pizza of course. As pizza goes, it was pretty good. We opted for the Calliope. The crust was warm slightly charred and good flavor from the tomato sauce and ingredients and the duck prosciutto was a more upscale take on prosciutto. Having pizza is such a decadent interior seems out of place but yet right. This is Tribeca after all.

I think people are starting to realize Cyrk is a pretty great cocktail/bar/dinner/pizza place but it’s also one of the best breakfast/lunch/café places in TriBeCa all day long. Unbelievable brunch/breakfast prices(like 9 bucks for pancakes, with fruit?), great food, and delicious coffee in a truly kid friendly peaceful environment. Lunch isn’t easy in this neighborhood — and this lunch is good. To be honest, I don’t know why it’s open all day. I am guessing the pizza ovens need to heat up? The quirky space is more suited to cocktails/night, but if you can get over those things you will be treated to one of the best all around joints in the area. They do a lot right here. Bar, Pizza, Coffee, Cocktails, Breakfast. And I think that can be hard for people, when a place is not easily definable.(if we were in Europe, this place would be extremely normal) Don’t let the variety stop you from enjoying any one of the things they are putting out there. Affordable, well designed, chill, good food, awesome people. TriBeCa needed this place so badly. It’s tucked away off Hudson on Thomas, so it can be a little hard to see.

I have to disagree a bit with the norm here: I thought this was kind of a strange place. First off, the block Bar Cyrk is on is deserted and looks pretty sketchy. I thought I’d taken a wrong turn(perhaps literally) when I saw the door and walked in to a pretty damn decadent bar. Big ass chandeliers, dim lighting, lots of glass, the place looks very pretty in direct contrast to outside. They also have pizza including a wood burning oven, although I was here strictly for drinks. Service was friendly but a bit hovery until they filled up(place was empty at first, ~8pm on a Saturday). I actually didn’t try a drink, sticking instead to beer. I did try my friend’s drink though which was a fruity girly drink with raspberry; it was definitely good for what it was and clearly well made. Perhaps I should’ve done a cocktail instead as the beer, while having a decent selection, was underwhelming. I ordered an Orval, which is a famous Trappist beer that’s only served in the bottle. First they couldn’t find it and almost opened the wrong one before I was able to stop them. That’s not a big deal, as people probably get cocktails here more than the beer(although it does beg the question«why offer it?»). But they then poured the beer out in a pint glass, filling it up halfway. I’m not normally not stickler for this, but they had a half dozen other options for glassware which were better than putting this in a pint glass. Not only that, but the beer was kept far too cold and didn’t taste like it normally does. I’m not sure what they did wrong with it(temperature, light, some other kind of improper aging, etc.) but it wasn’t cellared correctly and the product clearly suffered. Normally I wouldn’t rant that much about this, however if you’re charging $ 16 a bottle then you’d better keep it properly. All in all the place was nice inside and it was overpriced for the location. Wish I got a cocktail instead. Too bad, as I wanted to come back to try the pizza before I took a sip of that beer.

I love this place. It’s hidden down a small street in Tribeca(and I’m almost hesitant to write this review because it’s a tiny place and I can imagine it will soon be packed every night). My fiancée and I had some late-night pizza with some other neighborhood locals here when it first opened. The truffle pizza was incredible. The drinks were great– we tried the saffron-infused old fashioned and the chocolate egg cream. Both were inventive and delicious. Desserts were amazing too. Love the classy yet circus-themed atmosphere. We will definitely come back soon and try the brunch!

Bar Cyrk NY Manhattan TriBeCa 6pm Thursday 25th June 2015 Four Stars It is expensive but it’s definitely worth it. You would never happen upon this small coffee/cocktail because it’s on Thomas Which is a quiet street between Hudson and Broadway. They have an interesting cocktail list featuring a saffron old fashion, an artichoke Negroni, and a spiced bourbon with matcha. The cocktails range from $ 15-$ 18. I had a Bulliet Rye which was &16. The inside is sleek and modern with a retro circus feel. I tried their grilled cheeses and they were crispy, buttery, and fantastic. The wait staff was attentive plus their drinks were spot on. I hope more people come and try this place out.

I love this place. Hands down one of the best pizza spots in the city. The drinks are A+, the servers are super cool(and cute), and the food is delicious. If you’re looking for a first date spot, or a pace to bring a group(it looked like there’s a cool communal table for groups or work parties) this place is a great option Other than the pizza, I recommend the sliders with cheese and duck bacon.

This place is SUPER cute. It’s a hidden little gem with perfectly dim lighting and mixologists who can satisfy the pickiest drinker. I always get their passionfruit champagne concoction(forgot what it’s called), however, my friends always order specialty drinks from the mixologists and are never disappointed. They have infused fruits etc.(you get the point). They also are known for their PIZZA. We had the pizza sampler and it was the perfect addition to a night filled with cocktails. This place is a bit on the small side(which makes it so great) so call ahead to see if they have availability(but I’m sure you’ll be fine). Be prepared to sip on some savory cocktails. YUM!

Good concept and attractive décor. Cyrk is new and needs to work out some weak spots. I ordered a classic cocktail that was not recognized by the bartender. It was not a stump the stars order. Patrons are encouraged to order from the menu which consists of several(~10) house recipes. Lots of infusion, herbs and flavored syrups/elixirs. That’s OK but if that’s the product, it needs to be really special. To the point that we don’t need to contemplate an old favorite. We thought the parm and truffle popcorn would be a good snack. Way over-salted. Clumps of melted parm with no hint of truffle. It did not taste good. Spread the park lightly rather than concentrate it in pieces. Lose the salt! Good music and attractive crowd.
