Bareburger

I’ve never understood why places like Bareburger have to make something as delightful as burgers so very complicated. The menu is a mile long, and it includes things like «chickpea onions» and «stout onions» as garnish options, as if these are common foods. I say, just make a great, high-​quality burger instead of making an overly complicated, medium-​quality burger.
That said, there is a lot on the menu I haven’t tried. Let’s see, there’s the «Fire Quacker Burger,» which consists of duck, pepper jack, habanero mayo, pickled jalapeños, red onions, SPINACH (wtf? why? nothing against spinach but why here?), and tomato. Honestly, I don’t think any of these items go well together. Maybe duck and some high-​quality mustard and pickles would make sense. Or duck and something sweet-​spicy. But not all of this stuff.
What I have tried, however, hasn’t been great. I just had a burger on collards and, while that’s not ever going to be the world’s most amazing burger, it shouldn’t be soggy and really cold, like the collards just came out of the cold. Not should the cucumber and red onion in the baby gems salad so obviously have been put in the freezer or in too-​cold storage. The taste is ruined, leaving the whole salad bunk, not unlike the brussels cole slaw. It’s not that hard to make this stuff, but it is hard if you’re making hundred food items that are all really complicated.

go to ANY of their locations, you will leave fat and happy. My favorite is on 7^th Ave in Park Slope, but Billy and crew kill it at every location.
Amazing meat choices (bison, elk, boar, etc…) and flawless execution.
Milkshakes AND beers on tap… sheesh…

A 4−5oz patty, no fries, $ 13? Think not.

Burger snob being slightly less snobby today. Instead of a beef burger from which I could berate and criticize ad nauseam, I threw a wrench high in the air and instead purchased a duck burger, called the somethingarather with a clever pun. I really did enjoy it. Probably in the top five. er. ten burgers I’ve had. The house made mayonnaise. definitely a top five! Yes, I have extensive spreadsheets that rate the quality of different mayos from around the world.
There was an insanely large group of us. They seemed to stutter a little with coming to start our orders, but I guess they were waiting for all the fashionably late people to come? So all our orders went in at once, but they came out reasonably fast (all things considered) and the food was great! Our server seemed a little flustered or maybe slow, whatever. it was a large group and it was chaos everywhere so no negative points really.
I would love to come back and try other burgers but unfortunately I will not be back in NYC for some time (probably)

We ordered an elk burger and a bison burger (build your own) and both were good! I appreciated being able to choose healthy, organic options.

Came here for dinner a couple times and the burgers are pretty good. The service could be better though. Our table didn’t even have napkins and our waitress didn’t check up with us at all. I could understand if the place was busy, but it was half empty so not sure why it took so long to get our food.

Great selection of organic meats, vegetarian, and gluten free options. Started with the crispy Brussel Sprouts which were to die for, then had the SoCal burger! Loved every bite. Fresh organic ingredients made right!

Very interesting. You get to choose your meat sand cheeses. We had a duck burger, elk burger and bison burger. The fries come with lots of dipping sauces. Worth checking out!

Amazing food. You don’t feel like «exploding» because of the food quality. Excellent stuff also.

Terribly slow service at this location.
Also, the menu changes constantly. Just when you’ve figure out what you like, they totally change it. The menu visuals are confusing as well.

Before I start, the food is wonderful.
I’ve checked back into this place about 5 times. Every time I’ve eaten there, it’s the same problem. The service is really bad. I’d probably blame the management for letting their employees slack off so much. Some nights it has been busy, some days it hasn’t had more than 4 tables being served. The employees have these group meetings at the bar, at least three of them, and just chat for 2 – 3 minutes. The appetizers are always coming out 30 minutes after you order with your food. There will be 4 employees working the floor and its troublesome that you have to wave one of them down after 15 minutes of not being checked on.
Tonight we left the one in the east village and went to the one in Soho because we stood at the front for 5 minutes and was not greeted by any hostess. The restaurant wasn’t full and… Again… The employees were having a gossip chat at the bar.
If you’re looking for better service, go to the Soho location

Bareburger? There is nothing «bare» about these burgers… they are packed full flavor & topped with delicious condiments & accompaniments that accent the burger that much more.
The menu has a great menu option where the top half you can build your own burger or the bottom half where there are actual menu options. Bareburger is amazing because Not only is the actual burger made from ground beef, they also have bison & elk to choose from… let alone veggie & turkey burgers. The food is top notch & so fresh. They advertise everything being organic & you can tell. Such a perfect burger. I can’t stop thinking of how good my burger was.
Décor is great! Having a very funky hip vibe throughout the dining room there is also sliding glass doors which when opened to the street/​sidewalk area giving that inviting feel to come right in.
Staff is great — everyone seems very friendly & helpful. I was pretty impressed with one of the servers & how he knew the menu pretty well.
There’s a small bar area with a nice counter & stools to indulge. Nice selection of beer though.
I strongly suggest because I can’t stop thinking of how great my burger was!

Appreciate the management reaching out to me and explaining why that night was so crazy for them, I came back on them and the service and food (great buckaroo burger) was good as I’d expect. I am hopeful my bad experience before was an abnormality, and I will for sure give them another look in the future.

Food made me sick! Do NOT order a milkshake unless you enjoy being doubled over in pain followed by an hour on the toilet (or more, not sure if it’s over yet)! I read some other reviews that said they were good and thought this was a safe place to order one from, but judging from the pain I am in their machine is bacteria ridden and probably never gets cleaned! Holy !$!@

We were here on a busy Friday night but the service was putrid. It took us 20 minutes to even get a waiter. Then our appetizers arrived about 30 minutes after we ordered them. We weren’t really informed about what was going on.
The actual quality of the Elk burger I had was pretty good, although the patty wasn’t that large. We also tried the zucchini sticks and fried brussel sprouts, which would have tasted much better if they arrived in a more timely manner.
Maybe it was an off night for the staff, but I would not return and question if I would visit the one on LaGuardia Place now either. Especially for the price you have to pay here.

Went here for the first time yesterday. The place was relatively empty only a table of two were seated.
I ordered the black bean burger and absolutely no complaints here, it was excellent only wish it came with a side of fries, the burger looked lonely on the plate lol.
The waitress was nice and friendly and since it was my friends and I first time there she quickly gave us summary of the big menu.
Also the burger was a bit small and not too filling. The place is also a bit expensive with small servings.

Good burgers, still prefer 5 guys. Kind of stinks that the burgers are served a la carte. I was not a big fan of the onion rings nor the fries, although the sweet potato fries were good. Not too much to note. Good burgers, good sweet potato fries and good beer, so I am a fan.

Not a bad burger spot. We went on a Sunday night and the place was dead. There was our group and maybe 2 other parties. There were at least 7 people working however. Our waitress mentioned the pitcher special which we ordered. After a solid 15 minutes, we still didn’t have our beer. Mind you, we were sitting right in front of the bar. We flagged down our waitress who was genuinely surprised we hadn’t received our beer yet. She then told us that the reason it was taking so long was that there were no clean pitchers… This seemed odd since they were advertising a pitcher special, there was no one there, and there were plenty of employees just standing behind the bar. My thought is that the dishwasher called off and no one wanted to lower themselves to fill in.
Anyway, we got our burgers (still no beer) and they messed up one of our party’s order. Everything was okay considering they were out of a bunch of stuff. I can’t say that I can complain about the quality of the meal, but the staff problems really put a hamper on the meal. We finally got our beer, for which we were still charged, and they still didn’t have any pitchers. I’m sure there are plenty of other burger joins in NYC you can patronize.

Oh, what can I say, but, Excellent, as always.
Their fries are tasty and the sauces that accompany it are delicious. The burgers are always cooked perfectly and taste great. I love their milk shakes, esp the newer flavor — hot honey!
