Benefit Brows-A-Go-Go

I usually see Leslianne who is fantastic, very knowledgeable about waxing and great personality to boot. My first appointment was with another esthetician, she was ehhh, late for my appointment and not as attentive as she was leaving me to attend to another client and sent me to another esthie to apply the makeup… But ever since I started seeing Leslianne, it’s been a great experience.
It’s super easy to book an appointment online and they stick to the appointment times. If you want, they even fill in and apply makeup to your brows so you leave looking fabulous. Highly recommend!

Came here for an eyelash tint for $ 23. Really great service — explained each step, and cleaned eye area well afterwards so it didn’t hurt.

Trust the reviews, Marcus is amazing with brows! Since finding him/​benefit my brows have never looked better. They are quick here but not rushed and there is no pressure to buy additional products.

Abysmal. Unless you like skinny, uneven brows. You do you boo boo.
Let me explain. The shop for starters is a complete sh*t show. Your eyebrow «expert» is also a sales associate so she will stop between waxing/​trimming to take care of customers. The checkout experience was confusing and awkward. There doesn’t seem to be an option to tip via credit card, something I read was possible. And lastly if the place is going to be so crowded with the next guest breathing down your neck, they should enforce a strict reservation only to keep things pleasant.
Now for the actual eyebrow experience. I heard about something called eyebrow mapping? My stylist mentioned the word, but she certainly didn’t implement it. Isn’t there some measuring involved? Okay maybe she did it all in her head.
I got tweezing and trimming done. In the end they were much thinner than I wanted and started to far away from the bridge of my nose and ended too soon. I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt and say that maybe she needed to tear off most of my brows fullness to reveal the best shape possible? Ok. But then there was the trimming. She did a blunt chop to the underside of my brow and now it is certainly uneven and pokes out…
The worst part of all was how she filled them in. A red brown color (nothing like how I came in) and all one depth– meaning no lightness at the beginning and darker at the arch. Just one uniformly colored brow that looked drawn on with a marker.
I stared for a while in the mirror. In horror. I actually wanted to cry. But instead I ran to Sephora to fix my angry looking red brows. Ick
These people are definitely not artists. But if you don’t care much for your brows then I guess they’re a great option for under $ 30.
Maybe you’ll get lucky with a great eyebrow artist but if you’re a walk in like I was and just get planted with someone, chances are you will be walking out with clown brows.

My eyebrows mean EVERYTHING to me ladies. We all know they really define your face.
I’ve grown my eyebrows for a long time and it took them more than a YEAR to look good and full!!!
I came to benefit bar, because I knew they were good. I even paid taxis back and forth specifically to that place just to not go to a regular wax place.
I specifically asked for my eyebrows to stay thick, but she basically took all of them off. When she handed me the mirror I was literally about to cry
Worst decision I’ve made

I walk by this place every day and finally went in for a brow wax/​tint – couldn’t be happier that I did! Marcus chose the perfect color and my brows have never looked so full. I have dirty blonde hair but a lot of my eyebrows were super blonde and made me looked washed out. They’re now «graphite», a light brown color, and I’m in love. Wax and tint was $ 36. Would be so fun if this was more of a dry bar type atmosphere (drinks, a little more relaxing) but it was surprisingly quiet despite being right next to the street and subway, had good music playing, and was very clean. Will definitely be going back. Thank you Marcus :)

I had an amazing experience here. I had very attentive professional service. I made a reservation ahead of time for an eyebrow wax and eye lash tint. My aesthetician was friendly and took me through the whole process and explained each step, since I was a newbie to last tinting. I got thirsty in the middle of my tinting process and I asked if I could have a glass of water. She went above and beyond and procured a bottle of water. If that bottle wasn’t there, she was going to run next door to buy one for me. I couldn’t believe how kind a gesture that was.
On top of being a wonderful person, she did a great job. The store has a lot of walk-​in traffic that they are unable to accommodate (reserve ahead of time!!!). My aesthetician professionally addressed all these women looking for a service while still making me feel attended to. I’m very pleased with my lashes and my eyebrows are great. I’m 100% going to return to this location soon.

Stephanie used to be my go to, but when she left I started going to Marcus because of his positive Unilocal reviews. At first, he was great and I was happy with my service; however, this go around he DESTROYED my eyebrows and left me with pencil thin, non shapely brows (that don’t even match!). I had spent years growing my brows out and had finally gotten to the point where they were thick and full. All I needed was a clean up, and I ended up leaving with half the amount of brow that I came in with. I expressed my disappointment and my service was comped, but a free service does not make up for ruining eyebrows that may or may not ever be the same. I have purchased a $ 50 brow growth serum and am now hoping for the best. I would beware of visiting the salon if you like your full, thick brows.

Terrell changed my life!!! I never had a wax done, let alone a tint (did everything myself my whole life) but finally got sick of having my eyebrows sweat or rub off since I drew them on every day. The final straw was when I emerged from the pool with half a right eyebrow still on. They were very patchy from over tweezing over the years and also a mix of very light blonde and dirty blonde hairs which would make me look ghostly when I didn’t have my make up on.
I decided that maybe darkening whatever I had left would make it at least look like I have SOMETHING there. I was very realistic in my expectations and was not expecting to leave with what I did. I have gorgeous ful looking darker brows that even my boyfriend, who never notices these things, noticed. Somehow he got all the fine hairs that I didn’t even know I had and now I can’t stop looking in the mirror… I’m that amazed. For the first time in YEARS I was able to get out of the shower that night and not have to put any makeup on. It made that much of a difference. Will definitely be back regularly.
Also, everyone else there seemed friendly and the service was very quick. I didn’t have an appointment but was taken right away and out within 15 minutes or so.

Where did Stephanie go? I’m scared to go to another person. She would work her magic on my brows.

This is was my first time getting my eyebrows. I scheduled an appointment online which I highly recommend since they do get busy and you would want to secure your spot.
Marcus did my eyebrows (tint, wax and shaped), he was really friendly and attentive. He asked me how dark I want to go and I wanted it to be more natural since it was my first time. Process takes about 15 mins.

For the 24 ollars you pay for a brow wax and shaping I can get much better quality on my brows in a regular nail salon and it would take less time. This place is a lot of fluff and not really good.
I could have probably done a better job myself had I spent the same amount of time.

The Brows-​A-​Go-​Go location definitely lives up to the Benefit brand.
Marcus was my technician, and he was great. Really attentive and did a great job. I was very happy with the result, and it was done in record time. They’re very efficient here!
The location is quite small, but it’s beautifully decorated. I love the pink everywhere — it really does make you want to play with the make up like it’s your mother vanity. So much fun!
Benefit has just introduced online appointments, so I gave it a shot. It was super easy and plenty of appointments to choose from. Makes the whole process so much easier.

Raquel is amazing! Best brow tinting, shape and wax. She takes her time to carefully tint and wax brows. The process is painless and the outcome is pure fabulousness. I’ve never had an arch before Raquel whipping my brows into shape. They are fuller, darker and fab!

I love this spot. I feel so much more comfortable here than at the former Bloomingdales location. Stephanie does a wonderful job on my brows and introduced me to some great products. It’s a small store, so I recommend making an appointment first.

One of the best brow bars in the city, with a cozy but chic ambiance and very personable aestheticians. This is one of their newest locations, and while they do accept walk-​ins, it’s best to schedule an appointment online.
I highly recommend Heidi, whose perfectionism and skills ensure that your brows are perfectly shaped each time. I have been loyal to her for years now (following her to multiple Benefit locations), and been impressed with her consistent precision and warm personality.

Wow, a world of difference from the other benefit stores in manhattan. I love that this is the basics and they don’t try to sell you anything.
