The first time I had eyelash and brow tint plus waxing it was very good. I made a second appointment with the same individual and it did not meet my expectations. My brows were not well shaped and felt rushed as I had to wait in between each procedure as the operator go busy helping another customer. I will not return in the future.

I used to go to the Benefit downtown quite frequently until someone REALLY messed them up… My eyebrows were extra ratchet, I was in the neighborhood and it had been a few years, so I decided to try this one. My skin isn’t very sensitive, but this wax really irritated my skin. It was burnt, raw, and very tender for a day and a half. I think she took off way more of my brow than I hoped for, even though they were a nice shape. The full face makeup after is always a turn off and I should have known better and just asked for the cooling gel and to pay. It wasn’t the worst experience, but I can’t say I would recommend.

Always was a loyal customer to a competitor NYC eyebrow shaping chain… However I was accompanying my friend to her appointment at this location and I was convinced I was a great candidate for eyelash tinting. I decided to make the choice to try the tinting and what a great choice. (I have naturally long, light eyelashes)
The aesthetician Cherie was great thru the entire process explaining each step and even making me feel 100% comfortable while in an unusual uncomfortable position. I even got an eyebrow wax and am not upset I «cheated» on my regular place.
Next time I may try eyebrow tinting as well as I have a few light patches!

I hated this place. It was so bad. I’d never gotten my eyebrows tinted/​done and I wanted this to be a special first time with my boyfriend. I had to make him wait outside so he didn’t have to see and hear me yell and demand a manager. I am so disappointed. The woman who «helped me» didn’t put the right amount of tint lotion in and she left for 20 mins to talk to her friends.
At the end, a woman did my eyebrows to fill them back in and she filled them in with brown. I have jet black hair and it did NOT look good at all. Even my boyfriend said it didn’t look great, and normally guys try to support you whilst you fume and storm out doors.
NEVER GOING BACK. EVER.

I had a lash tint and then go a massive eye infection a few days later. I can’t be 100% confident I got it here but they don’t open a new tube for tints. They use Vaseline around your eye and I can’t be sure they don’t double dip because my eyes were closed.
I won’t be back.

Love this place! All the girls are so nice there! Brittany did my spray tan and she was amazing ! I can’t remember who did my make up but she was great too! It’s a fun environment and everyone is nice !

Not impressed. Went in today and the girl who did my brows doesn’t even know how to trim. The hairs now have rigid points to them and do not blend in together. I also just spent 20 minutes cleaning them up and tweezing several hairs she missed. The overall appointment only took about 10 minutes. Once I asked her to fix it up she said she thought they looked great but sure… she spent about 30 seconds and I left it at that. The man after to applied a brow gel and concealer was great and his makeup usage hid all of the flaws from my waxing appt. I’ve been to many other great benefit brow bars and I can confidently say that this is not one of them.

What a wonderful experience. Brittany did a fantastic job on my eyebrows! After several years in Paris going to the Benefit Brow Bar in the Sephora on the Champs Élysée, I was disappointed when I returned and the Brow Bar closest to me did not provide the same perfection in service. After stumbling across this location they not only took me on the spot but they delivered excellent service and did my brows exactly as they did at the Paris location. Love them! Highly recommend.

Brittany is the most experienced person currently working here. Lindsay and Aphrodite have left.

Every six to eight weeks I come here to get my brows waxed with my boyfriend (sorry boys! :winkface:). I have gotten mine waxed by two different technicians (I do not remember their names), but both of them have done a great job. They make my brows look BOMB! After they wax my brows they always apply concealer because my skin is super sensitive and around my eyebrow area gets extremely red after waxing.
I realize that eyebrows are sisters and not twins, but the technicians at Benefit do a really good job making my brows fraternal twins. Which is good enough for me! I have never experienced bad service while here and I am able to simply walk in without making an appointment, which is GREAT! I will keep on coming back!
Note: Make sure you tip the technician doing your brows!

I was going to this location for a while until they uncomfortably placed with me a technician I hadn’t requested because mine wasn’t in. Why didn’t they call to ask if I still wanted to come in? They can’t keep employees at this location. Every time you find someone you like, they leave.
I’ve been going to soho, but it’s a bit out of my way. I really wish I could find an eyebrow place to stick to!
When I contacted customer service, they couldn’t care less about my complaints. Horrible company.

Great spot! Affordable, relaxed, and nice service for brow shaping and tinting and lash tinting as well. Sophia is great at brows and super cute/​friendly. I had two great experiences there so far and will make it my regular brow spot!

I went to get a brow wax and they took off my skin. She tried to pretend she didn’t see it when I told her. She said «oh that’s nothing, it won’t scar». Well she is wrong. I have a scar a centimeter long on my brow bone. I will never ever go back there.

Spray tan service & employee review: stellar tan, great customer service from all parties involved. Brittany chose my color and it turned out beautifully! No problems using a Gilt voucher here :)

The WORST! I guess please leave my brows the shape they are and just clean them up mean remove half my left eye brow! On the positive note, it will be months before I will need another brow wax

I’m a huge fan. My eyebrows are horrendous, and this is the first time I’ve stepped out afterward feeling so happy about how they look. Lindsay did an amazing job. She was so sweet and made great recommendations. 4 stars (more like 4 ½) because they are a little backed up, so if you’re in a hurry – it may take longer than expected. I was NOT in a hurry, so I had a great experience.
After my eyebrows were done, they also tried out a bunch of products on me, which was amazing because I actually discovered new cosmetics that cut my getting ready routine down by 5 minutes.
I will definitely be going back from now on. I’m hooked.

I normally go to the Benefit Brow Bar in Macy’s but unfortunately I could not get a last minute appointment so I made one here — big mistake! It is nice that you can make an appointment online (which you cannot do with the Macy’s location). I showed up on time and it is the typical cute Benefit feel and was greeted by a friendly worker. I checked in and the lady working immediately asked me if I had an appointment, which I did and she told me to sit down. She then decided to do my brows herself and after looking at them said you don’t even need them done so what do you want me to do to them? WTF?! I said I want you to wax them, clean them up. She said are you sure you don’t want to just tweeze? No, if I wanted a tweeze I would have made my appointment for a tweeze. So she quickly waxes and does a bit of tweezing and tells me to look at them — horrible job! She didn’t do anything! I told her to trim more, she did and that was that. She was rushing, so annoying — if I pay for a service and you don’t have the time don’t volunteer to do them! As I walked out she was telling the other workers how to close up so apparently she is a manager that doesn’t know how to do brows!
At dinner with my bf he even pointed out he cannot tell I even got them done, normally he can tell because they are just so. I will never go back here for a subpar job! Go to Macy’s, you will not be disappointed! I’m trying to get in there right now to fix my brows and I will post before and after pictures!

I had my eyebrows tweezed at the Benefit nook in Bloomingdales, and liked the results, but it is so hard to get an appointment there! And when you’re there, you’re squished in like a sardine. This UES location is more comfortable and has been very accommodating with last minute appointments.
Tweezing: Aphrodite did my eyebrows. She took care to shape my brows and not over tweeze. She noticed that the last person who tweezed made them a bit too thin, so she reshaped with a plan for regrowth. I’m looking forward to how they grow in in a few weeks. Aphrodite recommended their «gimme brows» product for filling my brows. I actually liked this product a lot and ended up buying it. It is a lot easier to use and more natural looking than the usual pencils/​gels combo. I also appreciated that they didn’t push any other products.
Waxing: did you know they offer a full waxing menu here? It’s not all brows all the time. When my usual wax spot was booked, I called Benefit and got a last minute appointment. Brittany did my wax and was really nice. I enjoyed talking to her while she worked — and it was a great distraction. The room was very clean. No double dipping here! Only downside is that they use soft wax and fabric strips. Benefit should really consider switching (or at least offering) hard wax.
Price wise, I do think the brow tweeze is costly ($ 26?), but worth it. The wax was cheaper than most nicer places in the city, which was a pleasant surprise!

Okay Benefit, you blew it. You had a great thing going with your waxing services then you tried to save a buck and hired kids who have no clue what they are doing and now, you lost a customer.
First of all, Maxine, a true professional, is no longer employed here. I got my eyebrows done and they were totally lopsided. I had to go back and get them fixed. In 25 years of waxing (yes 25 years!) I have never had to do that.
My bikini wax was a nightmare. She left the room after she put the wax on me, then ripped off a layer of skin with the wax — clearly she left it on too long. I was bruised for days afterwards — happened to me once before when I was waxed by someone who was completely clueless.
Needless to say, I won’t be coming back.
