generally great, EXCEPT for one of the members, who seems like he lives there. there’s a short steroidy blonde Russian guy who’s always hogging all the weight stations (example: taking up several machines at once) and is constantly creeping on female gym members (example: following certain women around and asking if they want to work out with him) (if you’re reading this, slick: don’t accost women you don’t know at the gym. it’s rude. people are there to work out, not to make friends with you). seriously, the management should terminate that guy’s membership. if he were gone, place would be perfect.

If you like overcrowded gyms and cramped weight rooms you’re in luck. This is the perfect gym if you like such Conditions. At least it’s clean and staff are chill. But overall I would rather crunch up the block less crowded and it’s more spacious.

You should blink twice before you become a member with this franchise.
The gym is basic and doesn’t have the traditional amenities like towels, locked lockers, cozy/​sanitary smell good environment… yes. none of this exist. And that’s okay if you don’t need all that.
Your work out begins immediately you enter this gym cause the elevator is broken so you must take 2 flights of stairs to reach the gym and checkin.
Pros: you pay $ 25 withe a 5 dollar activation fee. This is awesome…
Con: is the gym is like your neighborhood old school ymca from the 80s. If you’re modern, don’t join.
Every walk of life is at this gym. So if you’re a snob… don’t join.
If your like spas and pools and classes, don’t join.
If like ambience, don’t join.
If you like to see where your money is going when you enter the gym, don’t join.
If you’re use to the finer things in life, don’t join.
If you must down grade due to changes in circumstances, maybe cancel your netflix, apple tv, sirius, spotify and forgo coloring your hair but still don’t join this gym.
If you naturally blink your eyelids, still don’t join.
When you sign up they aren’t forth coming with the hidden fees for cancellation before 1 year. When asked, all they said was you had to give up $ 25.
I read the contract and instead of putting th dollar amounts the only include vague teems that don’t describe the penalty.
The truth is, If you cancel before the year they charge you a buy out fee $ 60, an annual maintainance fee $ 41, and another month fee $ 25 which is fusterating. .which is about $ 130 which comes out to 5 months of membership
Nobody like to be mistreated when your exiting a contract… the fees they steak is like a bad divorce and your order to pay alimony to a undeserving establishment.
I dislike blink and equinox as they are under the same parent company. I strongly discourage joining a gym bc it’s inexpensive but join because you love the environment and amenities.

Extremely crowded e. g ten minute wait for most machines including running. One bench press. One squat rack. One water fountain. Tiny locker rooms. Staff fairly rude.
It’s like they took a basketball game and demanded it be played in a squash court while the referee scowls at you.

I love this gym. It’s a basic gym (you won’t find classes or a pool here) but it’s clean and a great value. The staff is friendly, the music is great, and there are always available machines. First gym that I don’t hate going to!

Staff is outstanding and friendly but they jammed the weight equipment into a small corner of the gym that’s overwhelmed with people. The windows literally get foggy with sweat. There are only two squat racks that constantly have people waiting in queue if you go after work during normal busy hours. Would be a great gym if they replaced some of the cardio with more squat racks and free weights.

My first time joining a gym beats Curves many years ago! So far so good! Most machines are available when needed or wait time is short enough! Conveniently close to my job so I have the opportunity to run here during my lunch hour!

It’s cheap and you get what you pay for! Customer satisfaction is what you will loose when you join this gym. I just moved from the New York area to another state where there is not a Blink location. Although I was on a plan that requires a buyout if you terminate membership within a year, I thought certainly there would be an exception for customers who are leaving the program because they are moving to an area where there are no Blink’s. They seem to be more interested in taking the $ 60 buyout than ensuring customers do not leave with a bad taste. I have the $ 60 to throw them, but my business, I will never give or endorse with my friends and family.

Having been a member of Planet Fitness for a number of years now, I’ve been constantly seeing the rise of Blink Fitness as one of PF’s biggest competitors and the clientele of both brands switching to one another.
Blink is a lot like PF, but with its monthly dues slightly pricier and with a step up in equipment (kettlebells, jump ropes, medicine and exercise balls), you can say that Blink is better than PF in some ways. Something I’ve noticed among Blink is its spaciousness, which can be one of the factors people leave PF… or go to PF. I’m personally not a fan since I prefer cardio machines grouped in one area, rather than scattered among different floors.
Nassau St. Blink Fitness is nice and is a price breeze, especially being a gym in FiDi that is competing against $ 200/​month gyms and studios. I came here after work around 6ish and surprisingly, it was nowhere near crowded at all. Then again, most of the FiDi crowd work late hours. 2 floors of equipment – mostly machines – and a small, stuffy weight room that is rather dense and uncomfortable to work out in. The treadmill section is also small but pretty doable if it’s not crowded. I’ve only been to one other Blink (in Astoria) location and this one has a great stretching area that is spacious – and actually feels like a real stretching room. All in all, I’m not a fan of this location… the layout of the gym and machine placement is just weird and very random.

I love how affordable Blink Fitness is, along with the numerous locations they have throughout the city. However, out of the 4 Blinks that I have been to so far (Chelsea, Bryant Park, Penn Place, and Nassau), Nassau is my least favorite.
Blink is usually consistent with their gym layout (leg machines in a specific area, cardio in another, etc). At Nassau, the machines are all over the place. For example cardio machines are on the first and second floor and the leg machines are the same way. Personally, if it’s leg day, I’d rather go to one area to complete my workout rather than walk up and down the stairs to check if the machines are in use or not.

I just recently joined Blink and primarily use this location because I both live and work nearby. All in all, I am extremely pleased with Blink. The price, the equipment, the locker rooms, amenities, etc. Everything is bright, friendly, and well-​kept.
My only gripe thus far is with the weekend hours. I understand that the clientele here is likely a commuter crowd, but as someone who selected this gym because I live AND work near it, I must say I find the weekend hours terribly disappointing. Aside from that, however, I am very happy with everything else Blink has to offer.

Really happy with my Blink membership! If you can manage your expectations to understand that you’re paying $ 25 a month for a membership to a gym in the Financial District, and the amenities are commensurate with that… You’ll be happy too.
Here are some ways this location exceeds my expectations!
— Friendly staff who are welcoming and helpful.
— No personal trainers bothering gym goers on the floor. I HATE gyms that force their trainers to develop business this way.
— Personal training, should you wish to look into it, is very affordable! And trainers don’t monopolize the entire gym with their clients.
— Enough space and cardio machines for there to rarely, if ever, be a wait for what you want, even during peak times. There isn’t a ton of floor space if you’re like me and like to use free weights, or a ton of equipment options for floor work (there are a couple kettlebells, bosus, resistance bands, jump ropes, foam rollers, steps and good free weight selections).
— If you forget something, they sell basic items at the front desk like towels, locks (you need to lock your own belongings) and headphones.
— Facility is very clean and well maintained! Better than more upscale gyms I’ve been a member of.
— Signing up and canceling are easy, transparent processes.
Reasons I didn’t give 5 stars:
— I get the no towel service thing but not providing hair dryers is a pain… I really have to commit and lug a lot of stuff around to work out here in the morning or at lunch!
— Hours on weekends are limited. I get it is mostly catering to a commuting crowd but it would be nice to be able to go after 4pm on a weekend day.
— Very few water fountains and when you find them, the water is lukewarm or sometimes actually warm.
— If you’re into classes there are few offerings and I think they cost extra… But again, you get what you pay for.
Overall, I’m a big fan!

Ok, My opinions are a little biases because working out is my favorite pass time. i’ve spent a lot of times traveling to gyms.
So I joined a few months ago. It really close to my job, So sometimes i go at lunch.
The gym overall isn’t bad.
The facility has a lot of machines however your’e still restricted because there’s normally only one of some. The machines get the job done, one other down side, there are only 2 squat racks and no bench press so it gets hectic sometimes. also the dumbbells only go to 90Lbs.
At peak times the gym isn’t that bad which i like. There are no ream amenities to the gym but, you get what you pay for.
The staff is really helpful and friendly. I’m thankful that they keep the gym clean.
I gave it 4 stars because: The size of the gym (really small), The upside is that around FIDI the gym is the best price you can get.

This is like a come and go place because they do not have any dance classes or steam room here.
But that’s fine for me.
The only thing I unhappy about it is the hair dryer. they do not provide hair dryer for member
I asked staff how to dry my hair if u don’t have hair dryer here. They told me I have to bring my own dryer or use their hand dryer to dry my hair.
I talked to manager about it and hope they could place a dryer inside.

I wish there were more machines, but they have everything you could basically want in a gym. It’s New York, so I didn’t expect a pool or anything outrageous, such as group exercise classes, or a ton of additional rooms or floors.
It’s pretty good for the space. If I were designing the gym, I’d put fewer cardio machines and more compound lifting stations as well as more mats and other amenities.
The drinking fountain could be placed in a more convenient area. However, I was impressed with the cleanliness of the facilities and the fact that everything seemed new and I didn’t mind the lack of mats considering the floor of the gym was pristine.

A Plus when it comes to price. And in New York where everything costs you a pretty penny, this a gym that finally lets you hold on to most of your pennies. The monthly membership is generally less than $ 30 per month (which is a STEAL!) and less than my average brunch meal (for the win). Best part is that there is a month to month option for those who like using a gym in the winter months but travel too much or exercise outdoors in the summer months.
The gym is all around clean and well-​kept. But to play devil’s advocate, this gym was recently opened in January so the machines can only be in one condition which is new.
Staff — they have been extremely friendly and pretty accomodating. My questions are generally answered swiftly. None of that typical New York brusque-​ness.
Downsides are that they don’t have any classes (for those of you who are addicted to zumba, bollywood funk or whatever else the new fad is). Also they don’t have yoga mats for stretching purposes. In their defense the floors are padded in the stretching area to accommodate for no yoga mats.

This is my gym. I love working out on my lunch. I don’t ever make an excuse NOT to workout (unless I go get a burger at lunch). The facility is clean, the equipment is always working, and I love how close it is to my job. There is a lot of treadmills if you are interested in doing that kind of workout.
$ 25.00 bucks for a contract BUT you get guests and on Fridays are the best times to work out. Everyone is drinking! I promise that you will feel sooo much better if you work out on Fridays… The whole weekend to be bad, opps…
Occasionally you will have a few weirdos who don’t know how to use the machine, a bunch of girls who are trying to work out, but overall this is my gym and I love it!

Clean, low cost, no frills gym, good customer service, no classes, plenty of TV’s, and plenty of cardio machines. Weight lifting area could be better but it serves its purpose. There’s a rush of people now coming out of winter hibernation… but this will fade once the weather gets nicer outside so don’t let the crowds discourage you… blink is low cost nice simple gym. America’s fitness industry is now a $ 24 billion business so you have plenty of choices from blink, retro fitness, NYSC, or crunch. how much do you want to pay and for what? Moved over from NYSC which is now doing 19.95 per month but finding blink so far a pleasant experience and enjoying the work outs. NYSC is a mix and match of all types of equipment cardio and weight but i prefer a more simple layout where you do not have to guess how to use a piece of equipment.
Pros: clean, lots of machines, uniformed looking layout of equipment, low cost, clean locker rooms, and convenient location
Cons: no frills, no classes, no towels service, no sauna, and need water fountains on 3^rd floor

New year, new gym!
Like the previous Unilocaler had mentioned before me, this location just opened up and everything is indeed brand new. I’ve been to 2 other Blink locations and this is comparable to the others. Very friendly staff, clean facilities, and it’s also quite affordable. Unlimited guest passes as well! What more can you ask of a gym, honestly? I just need a place to stretch, use some machines, and I’m solid.
If you’re looking for lots of classes, a swimming pool, and towel service, though, you’re not going to find them here. If you’re just looking for a bare bones gym that is clean and has plenty of machines for you to use, then this would be a good bet for you.
Like other gyms, I’m sure this particular location have some sign up deals and promotions occurring once in awhile. I managed to sign up for $ 0 down and $ 0 until March, so that’s just really hard to beat.

I love new gyms.
Thus Blink Fitness location opened up and is completely brand new. I’m just hoping it doesn’t ever get too crowded but for $ 20 a month, i can’t see how people aren’t going to be flocking here. Right now we’re still in the middle of the holidays so there were very few people working out at 7 in the morning.
So all the facilities are brand new, there are 2 floors of Gym — with tons of weight machines and treadmills. There’s a decent sized area for stretching and a decent sized area for free weights as well. Brand new TV’s light up above many of the treadmills and bikes and elipticals — but there’s also an area where there are TV’s on top of individual machines.
I like the weight areas — nice and bright and all the weights are rubber padded so they don’t go moving around too far.
You’ll have to bring your own towel, but they do have a nice shower set up if you plan to shower.
