Had a nice pumpkin beer and some fries, cooked up fresh and coming in hot with just the right amount of salt. A decent crowd, 30ish, with friendly staff.

Went here to watch US men’s soccer vs Iceland. They advertised on their sign out front on the sidewalk that it would be playing at 4pm. When we got inside, they were unable to get the game on the tv as it appeared they didn’t have ESPN2. The bartender was particularly nonchalant about it so we left. Will never go back.

Service was terrible: manager was so rude to us that we left. We came for burgers, told the staff we wanted to eat. We waited 45 mins to be seated and afterwards the waitress ignored us for at least 15 minutes. Finally when we went to her, she confessed that the kitchen was closed. We politely complained to the manager who responded with rudeness that he would open the kitchen again in 30 minutes. We left.

Great lunch and dinner options! The after work with spot with work friends to unwind. Ordered the chicken fingers with fries to start and fish and chips, grilled chicken fettucine and Shepard’s pie for dinner. We all left happy and full. Drinks are always on point with attentive service. Will be back soon.

I should have been more skeptical of this place after seeing people wearing sandwich boards promoting it as well as flyers at Bloomingdales. This is an expensive, tourist-trappy irish pub. The food is mediocre at best and poorly presented. Table service is apathetic. Don’t be tempted by the frozen-tasting $ 1 oysters advertised on no less than 3 chalkboards outside. I do not recommend the steak sandwich, burger, nor the chicken parmesean. The fries were the only acceptable thing our party had.

Conveniently located about 2 blocks from the 59th/Lex subway station, Bloom’s a good option if you’re looking for a laid-back brunch place. If you’re thinking what I was thinking, you’re wondering why anyone would choose a pub for Sunday brunch. Well, it’s one of the few places in UES that isn’t filled to the gills on a weekend morning. Also, the food and drinks are decent. When my friend and I showed up, Bloom’s was nearly empty. It stayed that way for most of our meal, which I didn’t mind so much. Service was attentive, but not overbearing. The brunch menu is pretty standard, and the food is good, but nothing spectacular. All brunch entrees come with one brunch cocktail, but for an extra $ 15pp, you can choose to have unlimited cocktails! Worth it!

inconsistent service. However, the asian salad with grilled chicken and spring rolls was creative and amazing!

I’ve been to Bloom’s for drinks. It’s a great, easy location that’s right around the block from my office. I have also eaten some amazing food at Bloom’s. I highly recommend the baked fish special. My mouth is still watering thinking about it. The wait staff is friendly and responsive, and the manager is constantly walking around greeting customers and making sure everyone has a great experience.

Happy to find this gem in the mix of the design district. Had the corned beef which did not disappoint served with a strong yellow mustard and thick cut fries. Drinks were generous and a nice tv at the bar. Good lunch.

There aren’t many good standard, simple bars in midtown and this is one of them. There are generous pours of wine and strong drinks for very reasonable prices. The bartenders were very attentive and friendly. It’s definitely a great place to go right after work. I’ve not tried the food but given the previous reviews I may need to give it a shot.

The Quick: Fantastic service and staff, great food(way above bar food standards), and very very strong drinks. What’s not to love? Occasional live music upstairs, hot bartenders, and a strong happy hour crowd. Venture to the upstairs where here’s additional space and seating. Enjoy! The Damage: Happy hour has $ 5/$ 6 wines, $ 8 strong well drinks, and $ 1 oysters.

This is one of my favorite pubs in NYC, and definitely a strong contender in the upper east side. Even though there may be ones that look more authentically Irish, any place that has anytime $ 1 blue points is great in my book. They are even cheaper for Sunday brunch. I wasn’t thrilled that my beers were in the high single digits, but at least the food was cheap and good. I’ve had the burger, which was great — and they also make great cocktails. There is a champagne cocktail on the menu that was expertly made. I’ve been here twice — on one occasion had a surly server, but on the other occasion had an awesome server that was super funny and welcoming. Decent selection of Irish Whiskeys and Scotch.

Not bad. Definitely a happy hour spot, lets get drinks after work spot. I wouldn’t «plan» to go there for like a night out in the town, per se. But definitely after work drinks or mayyyyyybe, MAAYBE start the night here. The staff is cool and the drinks are ok priced.

Not a bad spot. Came here with a girlfriend to watch football. Who drinks wine during a football game? We do when the bottles are ½ off on Sundays. Nice surprise. Rivalry of teams ensued at this spot. It was just enough, not too much. The bartender was not the best. He took forever to top off our wine and adhere to our requests. Quite clueless, but nice. He seemed more interested in doing his job than chatting the patrons up about the game. Great spot though. Good amount of flat screen TVs too. Will prob go back eventually. Better service needed though.

I didn’t have much faith in Bloom’s initially, quite possibly due to its deadzone Midtown location, where much of the vibe is touristy and overpriced drinks were the norm. Instead, I found a place that was genuinely Irish, serving a pretty decent happy hour and wasn’t flooded with people like most other pubs. The surprises didn’t just end there. It was spacious enough for our group and there were a decent amount of TVs showing the games we wanted to watch. The bartenders + wait staff were friendly and the place was pretty clean. Yes, even the bathrooms. Our appetizer sampler wasn’t entirely appetizing — much of the chicken strips were dry and the buffalo wings were a bit bland for my tastes. The shepherd’s pie($ 16) was solid, though I think some of the pubs in Queens do it better. Fish and chips($ 19) felt pricey, but it was easily the best thing we ate. I had a bite of the supreme burger($ 14) and I spotted a breadless one that looked very tasty. There’s always next time. If by chance I’m back in this part of town come happy hour time, I know I’ll always have an option in Bloom’s.

Eh! Went for the US vs. Ghana World Cup game, was upstairs with a large group of friends. The TV to the left at the bar was broken and so the color was off… the US’ colors were Green White and Blue :(Luckily we had another TV to watch the win. The happy hour featured Draft Heineken… it was flat and furthermore I think it was really bad. It was so bad that when I told the bartender about it she didn’t even bat an eye… she knew!!! It was bad. Like really bad. :(Gross. So, I would not LIKE to go back there BUT honestly if my friends are going for the games, I will… but I don’t think I will be buying draft beers.

Bloom’s Tavern is a surprise to me. It is situated in Midtown East so I assume it is going to be an overpriced touristy Irish pub. It is in a way where it has shiny red paint and customers here look mostly tourists. However, they actually have fair prices for their cocktails($ 10) and beer. The bartender was very friendly and very Irish ;) We had a good time having an afternoon sip.
