Was having a great time with friends in from London. We spent almost $ 500 in a couple hours at what is nothing more then a regular old bar. the waitress approached me and told me we had to close out tab and leave. I told Her he had a very small table waited an hour for a table and had not been there over an hour and a half… then told her to send over the manager or owner both of which had been walking around. Minutes later she came back, mentioned that he did«like» us, and the owner said we could stay. Then he came over with 2 cheap bottles of champagne and told us «if your going to squat at my restaurant, I’m going to at least make you feel at home» was tempted to smash a bottle over his head, and he’s lucky that prick didn’t have that happen to him. I was beyond polite and reasonable never was rude. Anyway had a lot of fun and great food. But due to meeting the owner and being asked to leave ill never go back and have many favorite places in the city that I’d rather spend my time and money. I’d skip this place, atmosphere is average and for NYC it’s nothing special.

Walked in and the place smelled like vomit. No worries though, I’m just looking for a drink and not looking for anything too fancy. Order a cocktail and a(gross) glass wine — get smacked for $ 19 and $ 15 respectively… as New Yorkers we need to stop putting up with this crap.

I came to Brinkley’s for the first time for Sunday Brunch. It’s located in an old bank building which gives it such a cool and different vibe. It has beautiful high ceilings which makes it appear very open and spacious. My experience with the food was very mediocre. I got the Vanilla French Toast which came with greek yogurt and spiced maple syrup. The french toast was a little dry and the greek yogurt seemed like it might have gone past its date a little but it had a good flavor. My sister LOVED the Messy Breakfast Sandwich and her coffee that came in a mason jar. It seems like a kind of hit or miss place menu wise, but definitely has a good atmosphere that I would imagine would also make a great place to get drinks or dinner. I will say the service was great! The waitress and bartender were really friendly, as was the host. Very inviting.

Food took quite a while but the burger was tasty. Oddly as one of the other reviewers mentioned our credit card slip didn’t match our receipt so double check before you leave that you are getting charged the proper amount.

I was a bit disappointed in the specialty cocktail I ordered. I can’t remember the name but it was something alliterative and included the word«Pimms». In spite of the number of ingredients, it was pretty bland. I added jalapeño which helped it slightly, but not enough for me to order it again. The chili cheese waffle fries were pretty good. I would visit again if in the area, but I’ll definitely try a different drink next time.

Big, open, airy spot for a post-work drink or a casual dinner. I had the chickpea eggplant burger here recently and was really impressed with the amount of flavor they managed to pack into a veggie burger — it was really delicious. The beef burgers look great too. They have a nice-sized beer and wine list(in addition to a full bar) — I enjoyed the apricot wheat beer I had last night. This is my go-to for a pre-theater dinner or drink before heading to 59 E 59th St theaters.

My friend really wanted to come here bc of what this place looks like from the outside. Unique look, however; once we came inside our excitement began to diminish. The hostess was on the computer clueless that we had walked in. Then, no server approached us for a good 15 mins, mind you the place was empty. Then, the food took about 40 mins to come. Like seriously did they go hunt and deplume the chicken! The food was FABULOUS or maybe we were just starving. When we payed, again they weren’t paying attention and gave us extra change!!! They are lucky we are honest people and told them! Would i go back again, i don’t think so.

I came here for dinner before a movie on a rainy summer Saturday. The place is cute, open and bright. I made a reservation, which was not necessary. The staff was nice and the food was good but the menu is pretty limited. I got the meatballs, chilli fries, Mac and cheese and calamari to share. The food was well seasoned and flavorful. If I’m in the area and need a place, I would stop by again, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back.

Brinkley’s Station is a good place for a couple drinks after work, or a nice meal in the evenings nestled in a former fire house. The space is large, so it doesn’t actually feel as full as it really is in the late afternoons. One thing that might be of concern to some is that the very high ceilings do tend to act as an echo chamber. So while it may feel like there are less people in the room, it will sound like there are many, many more. The service is wonderful here. The bartenders are attentive, quick, and seem genuinely concerned with providing a good experience. The drinks are likewise very good. Pours on whiskies are on the more generous side. The mixed drinks are well constructed and well balanced. The Stonewall Jackson, particularly, is quite tasty. The menu is quite nice. Of note, the fried calamari is perfectly cooked; just this side of done and not hint of rubberiness. The breading is light and not greasy. It is accompanied by was seems to be Russian dressing with added Sriracha — sort of a slightly spicy take on tartar sauce. Though it may not be traditional, it is refreshing and works well with the fish. Also, the roasted tomato flatbread is a delight. A mix of melted mozzarella and ricotta cheese lend creaminess and a bit of salt to the sweetness and acidity of the tomatoes, all on a crispy rectangle of toasted flatbread. It invokes pizza, but also a hearty farmer’s lunch. Decent if slightly noisy digs, good food, and excellent service; Brinkley’s Station is a three alarm success.

BRUNCHREVIEW: Always great to find a good brunch spot, especially in a central location thats easy for everyone to get to, which this is, unfortunately it wasn’t a hit with the group. We had some omelets, huevos rancheros, and a burger between the group. While I appreciated the healthy option of an egg white omelet, it was greasy and not amazing. Ambiance was cool, it was really easy for us to get a large table at noon on a sunday, but I wouldn’t run back.

Good beer selection. Nice juicy grassfed burger. The sweet potato fries weren’t sweet enough. Tastes too much like regular fries. Waitress took forever to service me.

Awesome gastropub with great beer selection and food! It can be hard to miss, as it’s on a quiet part of 60th, between 3rd and Lex. A few friends and I came here for dinner on Sunday night and the bartender was great(Shawn/Shane I think). He was very knowledgeable about the beer and was a nice guy. At the end, when our bill came, he even copped the first round of beers we had, which was extremely generous. We had the hummus for appetizer — it was good… nothing special. They have many vegetarian options, which is nice. I ended up getting the BLT sandwich, and it was really tasty and filling. I’ve had veggie bacon many times before and it’s always tasted terrible, but the veggie bacon here was really crisp and meshed really well with the rest of the sandwich. I was shocked that I enjoyed it so much. I’ll definitely come back to try the eggplant-chickpea burger and for brunch. Great bar, service, and food!

Came here on Sat for a late lunch with bf around 3pm. It’s a huge space, so definitely worth coming with a group for a meal or drinks. They seem to have a decent drinks list– bf had a Southampton IPA(on tap) to start, and I, their classic bloody mary which really wasn’t the best I’ve had but standard. For lunch, I had a $ 15 veggie burger, which was surprisingly good. A meaty(not literally) quinoa and eggplant patty, with kale, cucumber, tahini dressing(a bit mild) sandwiched in a hearty 7 grain roll. Came with your choice of fries– from regular, sweet potato, or waffle, I chose regular. They were skinny, and just the right portion. Bf had the chicken sandwich, also in the mid teens, which was a hot chicken breast pressed with mayo, roasted red peppers, and salad. It was pretty good but again, nothing out of this world. I think the reason why most of my stars are docked is because of the service. Our bartender was doing best he can behind the bar with the brunch crowd’s cocktail but we had to grab our own silverware from one of the empty tables. Err. Not wow enough to come back but worth checking out if you want a step up from bar food for lunch and a lot of space.

First impression: Love the space! Second impression: Expensive(ish) beer list, but decent selection. Third impression: $ 17 huevos rancheros… kind of expensive. Fourth impression: Great/friendly staff. Final impression: Pricey brunch(food was fine)/beer, but I will be back because I liked the atmosphere and the space.

I was in town the weeekend of 11÷9÷13 and bumped into Brinkley’s Station on Unilocal while looking for a casual place to meet a friend Sunday around noon. I picked Brinkley’s Station because it looks like an old fire station, it looked roomy and they have bloody marys and beer! I made reservations for three through Unilocal and our table was waiting for us when we arrived. Brinkley’s Station worked out perfectly for us because it wasn’t too crowded so we could chat and hear each other and the music was right up my alley(Steel Pulse and Marley) I had fish tacos and my friends had burgers. I have to say if you like bloody mary’s go here because they had a few different types. I had the one with the blue cheese stuffed olives. I appreciate any establishment that has blue cheese stuffed olives for their martinis and bloody marys.

Located directly across from Bloomingdales. No need for a reservation on Saturday evening prime time. Ordered two pairs of sliders(2x chicken, 2x beef). The beef ones were substantially better than the chicken. Kale salad also good.

Came here for dinner, not drinks, although their cocktail menu looked awesome and I like the happy hour vibe here. For food, I had the burrata appetizer and lobster club sandwich. Both were delicious, but especially the burrata(see pic). Totally worth coming back here for any meal.

Came for brunch. Spacious area, nice interior, and right by bloomies! The bloody mary was pretty good, and they have many flavor variations(lookin’ at you sriracha!). I had the smoked salmon and scallion scramble. good but on the salty side. BF had the huevos rancheros, which were okay. Food and service were decent. I like the chill atmosphere. Glad this is in the area.

Great to have another option in the neighborhood that is the level of PJ Clarkes vs. 2nd avenue bars. We were there for drinks only and reserved the upstairs section of the bar. It’s a good list of beers, even though I would prefer a few more on the brown /stout side. All you wheats and Belgian-style lovers — you’ll be happy. I’m unsure why our waitress said they could serve us beers from the«draft list» but none from the«bottle list.» Maybe this was an issue for our private party and not the entire place? I’ll head back sometime in the near future and will share my thoughts. As well as try some of the highly-rated food! Beware — it is extremely crowded after work hours. I had to push my way through the crowd when the«excuse me, could I please get through» failed over and over.
