I love it when I stumble upon a new place that exceeds my expectations. I went here famished after speaking at a conference at NYU. The food is fresh. The kitchen area, which is visible from the seating area, is spotless. The guys running the restaurant are very polite and professional. Most importantly the food is great. I cannot wait to stumble upon this place again.

I’m not sure if this place is new, but I’ve never seen it before. On my way to Saigon Shack, I saw this place because of it’s bright lights and of course… Beignets. I’ve only ever had homemade beignets, so I don’t know how this compares to New Orleans… But wow! We ordered one of each kind. Plain, chocolate/strawberry and caramel. Caramel was by far my favorite, then plain, then the chocolate. They are made to order, so they’re very fresh! Will definitely be back for more.

Stopped by for some beignets after a disappointing trip to the nearby cookie shop. Should have just gone here first. The crust was so delicate and crisp. The insides were so tender. HOW?! At first, I couldn’t understand why they gave us knives and forks but when I cut into my first piece, it became clear. If you’re not civil, that powdered sugar just gets all over you. I was expecting a square yeast donut but it seems they actually use some kind of choux pastry. Legit.

Tiny but nice place. Went there for brunch + their delicious beignets. The place have seats for 9 – 10 people. Noticably new-opened as the staff was a little all-over-the-place and tried to squeeze past each other in the tiny kitchen. But ever so nice and welcoming! The $ 7:75 brunch was good but the chef let it stand and cool of for 10 min because she forgot about the eggs… So it was not all fresh and warm — but still a generous portion and tasted good. The beignets were made to order, so they were great! Super delicious and straight out of the frier. Three beignets for $ 5. I’ll be sure to visit Café Marie next time I’m in NYC. Very nice experience.

There are not many things more delightful than a GOOD cup of coffee and sugar-coated beignets freshly fried, served by french men on a cold winter day. Found a new gem on McDougal st! The seats are so small and cute, it’s perfect for a coffee date/break.

Though the place is small, it is a nice and lovely place for Beignets. The place was clean, comfy and simple. Even though space was limited. I believe that is to be expected around that area… Got the normal and the chocolate topped Beignets. They were freshly made and crispy. Their taste was superb. Definitely coming back to this place in the future for more… :)

Now see, I’ve never been to New Orleans, so I’ve never tried the REAL, AUTHENTIC, beignets. However, I believe that Cafemarie definitely has some of the best ones that I have ever tried in my life. Cafemarie is definitely what I would call quaint; it has a really adorable home-y type feel to it, very clean and modern. I haven’t had much of the food here aside from the beignets, but it seems like they serve a large variety of sandwiches and breakfast items, which all appear to be good. If you do come here, make sure to get the star of the show! These beignets are definitely the real deal!

Who can resist fresh donuts? This is my first time trying beignets. They are fabulous! They are made to order so this makes it even better. The café au lait in this place is great too. Perfect combination with the beignets. I wish I could have them everyday. Can’t wait to go back and get more. I’d also like to try their sandwiches and brunch.

The employees were super kind! Ordered a coffee, juice, and beignets to share. They brought it right to us, and it was such a nice set up. Everything tasted right. The beignets were little squares of heaven covered in angel dust. Would come back if I’m ever in NY again.

The beignets are legit! It looks, smells and tastes like the ones from Café DuMont in New Orleans. Turns out owner has family in New Orleans — that explains the delicious beignets and the various New Orleans pictures. Next time, we’ll try the other dishes but will definitely return for the beignets!

Came here after a lackluster lunch and was surprised that no one was inside. Clean place with a couple tables up front and friendly staff to take your order. Didn’t realize they had actual food here otherwise would have come for that too. Alas, I ordered the beignets($ 5) and an iced café au lait($ 4.75). The«iced» coffee was really just a cold brew, which is actually better. Few minutes later the beingets came out with their mountain of powdered sugar. Let me say, I just came back from New Orleans, and these were just as good if not better. Super warm with just the right amount of doughiness. Went well with the coffee(which needed its own share of sugar). Pretty impressed by this spot. Although I’m worried on how long it could last as the last two restaurants at this location didn’t survive for very long. Will try to make another trip soon.

This place is such a little gem. Very small, and only two tables to sit at – but worth it. Somehow, they’ve managed to orchestrate a warm comfortable feel in the small space they have. The coffee is great and the beignets(without question) are delicious. They have great(sweet) service and staff, and they really give everyone a great experience.

Crisp. Airy.(Dare I say… ethereal?) Little rectangles of fried heaven with the perfect amount of powdered sugar dusted on top. Not too sweet. All the right kinds of chewiness and crunchy edges. Such an adorable little space(though everything on MacDougal is). Really surprised it’s not busier. They give free water in crystal glass cups. Capital C — Classy! The best beignet I’ve had yet in the city. Beignets? No, more like beign-YAYS!

Atmosphere: small dining room with 2 tables and a bar with about 5 – 6 stools, so not for groups at all. The ceiling is lined with golden/bronze colored tiles with steaming coffee cups on them. Cute! Under the bar there are electric sockets to charge your handheld devices! Saved us with 2 dead phones and a long way from«home». The playlist went from Adele to old jazz tunes! I loved it Service: The chef/cook was a pleasant Filipino(heard him speaking Tagalog with some friends), who seemed to prepare food with love. Even the sandwich he made for another customer looked so amazing I wanted to get one. The barista/server was French and teaching one of the chef’s friends a few words. He was very sweet and carefully prepared my café au lait and my daughter’s iced coffee. Food: We had to have the beignets of course! They were soft and chewy on the inside and flaky-crisp on the outside as well as delightfully covered in confectioners sugar! You get 3 large beignets for $ 5. It’s perfect to share… orrrrrr not. I probably could have eaten all 3. Overall: 5 stars! An adorable and perfect place if you can get in there when seats are free like we did! I highly recommend it and will return if I’m ever in NYC again!

Who doesn’t love beignets? This place is small. Only two tables and a few seats on the counter. My first visit and I fell in love with how lovely this café was. Of course I ordered the 3 for $ 5 beignets with a friend. It was piping hot, crispy on the outside, but so soft and fluffy on the inside. I would’ve given this place 5 stars if the beignets were stuffed, but this café is definitely worth visiting.

Yeah beignets! Café Marie really cleaned up the space and made a cute little coffee shop out this cubicle! We had the traditional beignets, came squared and covered with powered sugar. There is everything for an all star treat: carbs that are fried and covered in sugar. It’s dynamite! Try it out!

Café du Monde would be proud. They’re serving up the french powdered sugar donut perfectly, and always made fresh. I haven’t found a more perfectly prepared french donut in NYC. I’m also going to add high regards for their cold brew coffee. We definitely need to come back and try the brunch sandwiches and explore the rest the menu has to offer.

I love how straight forward Café Marie is. Their specialty is the beignet, and they serve 3 for $ 5. Sandwiches and coffee are also offered. Ask for your beignets to go — with silverware — and head to Washington Square Park! The café is clean and tiny, with seating for 4 up front, and about 4 more bar stools at a thin counter area leading to the back. The people were kind to offer the bathroom, and the ambiance was relaxing but it’s so quiet for such a small space — maybe some music would enhance the feel.

Such a cute place. Very simple offerings. Beignets are what we stopped in for. My daughter loves to get them every time she can. These didn’t disappoint and were a good treat. When we went in the place wasn’t packed. I’m wondering if they get slammed when everyone is drinking? Either way… it was so quiet. The place looks ripe for a scene in an indy film. Something where Zach Braff’s son spills powdered sugar all over his clothes right before he goes back to his moms house. You know the scene where there is no music just sounds of humans in quiet desperation? Oh ok… maybe it’s just me. Anyway if I am walking by this place in the future and need a little sugar bomb that isn’t too sweet, this will be fine to hit the spot.

I love this place. My husband and I love beignets and these are delicious and perfect. They don’t quite look like the ones from New Orleans but they are so tasty and definitely on par! We went through a phase of ordering a serving(3 for $ 5)everyday for 4 days straight! In fact, I just called ahead to place an order as it takes 5 minutes to make them fresh! :)
