We went here after a dinner nearby for a snack. We got moved up from the back because they closed it for the night. Found some opened seats up front, but someone else’s dish was still there. We moved it aside and chatted away while I waited for my banana honey toast. It took a bit, by the time I got it, I just took it to go. I ate it for breakfast, but I did have a bit of when I first got it. It was dry, the bananas felt over cooked and dried out. As I watching the employee pack my toast into their to go box, I watched him open all the drawers that looked dirty and then touch my toast to pack it away. It does not matter if you wear gloves, touching everything else before touching the food is just the same as not wearing gloves because I know those drawer knobs are touched by bare hands! I wished I hadn’t seen that, but I ate around where he touched and reheated it on the morning(logic to kill any bacteria…)

Aye, two stars for their delicious protein shake, a great filler for a post workout meal. But it took me about 10 minutes to get it. Absolutely no customers, I waited and no one greeted for about 4 minutes. I see the employer just moving like a turtle making something for herself. She finally greeted me, and she seriously spoke like she was a cartoon turtle, or maybe a cartoon sloth would be a better way to describe it. Just be warned they hired people who should’ve been dealt with by Dr. Kevorkian. And the worst part was there was another employer who didn’t even look up at me, just was doing paperwork at the register.

Hands down best hot chocolate on the east coast. I traveled to NYC with my wife for business, as I’m taking a stroll what do my eyes see? An amazing coffee shop, and you know it’s amazing when your nose speaks for the rest of your body. I walk in and I’m greeted by sweets after sweets, after salivating for a minute or two I walk to the counter. This shy little lady greeted me named nia. I asked her what she recommends and it was the hot chocolate. Great service from her from the get go. I get my hot chocolate and think nothing of it but then I open my cup, omg the marshmallows, the cream, the chocolate!!! I almost fainted, and it tasted just as good as it looked. Such a great place in the best city in the world. Highly recommend coming here because of the service, the vast variety of sweets, and an even bigger variety of beverages.

Super-friendly barista made me a spot on soy latte. I drank and people watched out of the December wind, but the books looked very tempting. I didn’t feel rushed, it was busy but not packed and behind the bar looked like people were working in a café, not an assembly line. I bet I could even sat by an outlet without risking injury. People were chill.

I don’t understand why a coffee shop like this has turned into a franchise when there are so many great coffee shops in NY!!! Every product in here is sweating under the hot lamps and tastes really bad. All the pastry’s & baked goods are mealy & dry & it literally feels like they have been sitting there for days. Even the ice cream looks gross !! Unfortunately, I have to go here every morning because its the only shop on my way to work and I wont order anything besides a black coffee. They only schedule one person every morning so the poor girl is running around by herself while people need to get to work. They have morning happy hours where they give you a medium coffee for the price of a small but then they don’t even fill the cup all the way. If the owners are reading this, you are trying to be 5 different types of things at once and doing all of it sloppily. Its disappointing & frustrating that other shops closed while this place thrives.

The cashier was not friendly. Could barely hear her and would ignore some requests. We ordered a sandwich and it took a very long time to get it. The latte was not very good.

One of the smaller Caffebene’s I’ve been to, but it’s all the same in the end. Still had comfy seats and same selection of food and drinks. The bookshelf has some pretty cool books, so if you’re just chilling, pick one up! I usually get drinks here, but I wanted dessert this time. Probably a poor choice. I got the chocolate cake and it tasted kind of dry. Cashier was super friendly! *10% off with student ID

Server didn’t listen to my question, they were in fact out of what I wanted, and they had to do a refund

I dropped by on a Saturday afternoon. The place was t too packed. Unfortunately the staff seemed a bit disorganized. I had to wait a couple minutes before someone noticed me and took my order. Luckily my taro milk tea hit the spot. Not overly sweet and refreshing. There’s also comfy seats, so I’m a happy camper.

Just put it this way… no line… no urgency… I’m still waiting for a sandwich while typing this review. And I’ve been waiting ten mins already. Fail

Ive passed by lots of caffe benes in NYC. I walk in and see the prices on coffee and usually walk out. This time I stayed for dinner and im so glad i did. We had the carmel cinnamon honey bread and the coffee shaved ice with mint chocolate chip ice cream. The honey bread looks like texas toast. but it is so much better. Its not as heavy as it looks and the carmel cinnamon sweetness had seeped into the bread… This is one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. The coffee shaved ice. is a little on the icy side and the red bean is an acquired taste. But every bite with red bean paste and ice cream was superb. As the ice melted the dish got even better. Just wait for the ice to melt a little and the shaved ice is terrific. Also, when you spend $ 15.you get a free t shirt, bag and plastic cup. I think the place is japanese. so like everything japanese the attention to detail is sky high. Enjoy!

A nice Coffee place to hang out, to read or work. Good coffee and Latte. Not the best cappuccino(closer to a Latte) but good. They have a beautiful and good waffle selection, coated or nature with ice cream. Their macarons look good as well as their crèmes brûlées. They even have a book shelf for you to read. Oh! They have also apparently really good smoothies!
