I pretty much had it in my mind to hate this place because it seemed overrated and the décor looked cool but cheap. The food, however, was actually pretty good. Lemme bleak it down fo ya. Décor– Baby chicks. Get it? Cheep, cheep. The bathroom has a very cool blinky LED sign that runs random phrases across the screen. Too bad you can’t eat in the bathroom. Food-Spring rolls: cute tiny little rolls with yummy spicy sauce. All fried papery goodness with not a lot on the inside. Pleases the southerner inside me. Seafood noodle dish with side salad: Yummy! Large portion; I took half home. Chicken Curry: Sooooo good. All buttery and milky. I basically ate half of the BF’s food. Service– Yeah. Ummmm, let’s just say I waited 5 minutes for my check, wrote this, and JUST got the check. Value-Not terrible. $ 23 for the above mentioned food, no drinks. Overall– After further discussion, we may come back. Especially because apparently food is 20% off during happy hour. We will definitely recommend this place to others in the future.

The place would have received 3 stars if it was not because of the Thai Ice Tea… If you are a Thai Ice Te Fan, be forewarned with the following: 1. Thai Ice Tea is $ 4 2. Yes, it is a 16 oz cup… but… 3. the ice is filled slightly ABOVE the rim 4. I saw the bartendar(my seat was facing the bar) push with his bare hand to push the ice down — PUBLICHEALTHHAZARD!!! 5. The real drink was only about 6 onces 6. When the waiter took my empty cup and asked me if I wanted another drink, I said no way, there was just TOO much ice, he said I can order another one with less ice. I was like, NO! I am a vegetarian as well so not much options from the entrees except the Pad Thai.

With these pan-Asian restaurants, I am hyper-critical and such a bitch to please. I am very picky. But cheap set lunch for 7 buck. What else do I want? But seriously, you get what you pay for. So for 7 bucks I’d say it’s okay. Quite frankly, I’m not sure I’d go back for supper. If I ever do, I’d give 2 stars for the same food with a higher price. For the included appetizer I had vegetable spring rolls. They were a bit over-fried and sad. The chicken curry noodle was bland with no taste(not sweet or even salty). It came with a side condiment of lime pieces, pickled mustard green, chilli flakes, and dried up onion(which I didn’t use anyway). Noodle was way too mingled up and hard to pull out. A cute note, however, my waiter put cocktail napkin under my chopsticks!!! Now THAT was impressive. Growing up using chopsticks, I am extremely anal about not having them touch the table for sanitary reasons. He knows.

got panang chicken to test the waters of curry in this part of the neighborhood. good, but not great. too greasy and drowned in sauce which makes it hard to tell how old the chicken is here or what parts they’ve used. i didn’t have a good feeling. secondly, when you combine Japanese and Thai food together… you’ve got a major FAIL. focus on improving your food in one specialty or the other. You are not TOPCHEF by any means… so shame on me for being fooled. all around very mediocre. my go to for Thai still remains at Pinto, where they can at least guarantee that your meat is organic and/or grass fed. the quality is evident … gonna have to pass, esp. when there are a million thai restaurants down the strip on 8th/9th ave.

Disclaimer: I ordered take-out, thus am unable to comment on the waitstaff or environment, as I was in the restaurant for all of 90 seconds. A coworker mentioned that Nooch has a bangin’ lunch special, and being someone who loves thai and forgets to/is too lazy to pack his own lunch at least 2 days out of the week, it was inevitable that Nooch and I would have a fling. The lunch special is pretty cheap. For less than nine bucks, I got a lunch-portioned main dish and what seemed like a regular-sized appetizer. There are twenty-ish main dishes that are game for the lunch special. Although there is a huge variety of dishes to choose from, the selection is surprisingly not very vegetarian/vegan friendly… which is in my experience very out of the ordinary for thai/japanese. Boo. Since there weren’t many veg options on the lunch menu, I ordered the vegetable pad thai. [Note: there are veg-friendly dishes on the non-lunch special menu, for your ordering pleasure]. The pad thai was definitely not the best I had ever had… but it was still pretty good. There are a half a dozen appetizers to choose from for the lunch deal, including edamame, vegetable rolls, and deep fried tofu(yum!). You really can’t beat it for the price! If you work in the ‘hood, don’t be afraid to check this place out. You definitely get a lot of [tasty] bang for your buck.

Honestly, Thai is Thai. But I’m giving this place 4 stars for the interior design– LOVEIT! It’s so hip, funky, and cool– so bright! And the service– very helpful and attentive! My friends and I met here for dinner and drinks. We ate everything on the plate– food was good. We had multiple orders of our drinks– drinks were delicious! So anyway, back to the atmosphere and décor– very bright, very hip, and the music helps set the tone for the rest of the night– fun, exciting, and lots of energy. I would definitely recommend this restaurant as a meeting place before going out and having a few cocktails– it really gets everyone pumped and happy before the night even begins!

Atmosphere is fine… a little crowded though. I came here with a bunch of friends and since our party was more than 6, they slapped on a 20% tax, even when the waiter service wasn’t as good as I would think. I ended up with getting a Salmon Zaru Soba, since I wasn’t as impressed with what other food choices they had on their menu. The zaru soba was all right. I really liked how the salmon sashimi went with the noodle. I can only assume that since this is more like a bar/club setting. that getting drinks is definitely high on their radar. and also if you are just passing by this location, this place screams hair salon rather than an eatery.

The chic exterior of Nooch almost forces you inside. The alluring visage captivates you… and so do the prices! I’ve been to many a Thai establishment, they’re everywhere in NYC. Nooch had an extensive menu, as most do. Their menu is interesting though… cocktails have awesome names and so do the waitstaff! Our waiter was incredibly friendly and patient as we picked through the menu. He offered his favorites and the most popular dishes with grace and style. And when the restaurant was closing, he didn’t kick us out(most places in NYC give you the boot!). My cocktail was named«Juicy Lips» and I will say it quenched my thirst! A sexy combination of vanilla vodka, pineapple and lime, Juicy Lips is a must-sip. My tempura udon combo was typical thai fare — thick udon noodles in a beef broth with scallions and sprouts. The awesome thing about this platter was the plate of tempura it came with(which are free refill!). The tempura isn’t the best I’ve had, but it was great to sit in the soup and sop up all the flavor. The one qualm I have with Nooch is the temperature. We visit on a cold December night and shivered the entire meal, even being sat directly across from a portable heater! Nooch is a great place to go though — and it has a bangin’ DJ Booth!

There was nothing spectacular about this place — just decent. My pad thai was«alright» but I couldn’t complain because it wasn’t really bad. The décor was super neon and disco clubby. Not sure I would come here again, but if I was suuuper hungry and there wasn’t nothing else around — then yes. I would.

Like everything in Chelsea, dining at this Thai-Japanese spot can get expensive. Then again, you can have a great time here for…$ 22-$ 25(plus tip)! Just forget about the regular menu and order from the special bento menu. That’s what my two friends and I did last night. The choices all feature a Thai-inspired primary meat or seafood item, surrounded by various salad and appetizer options. The whole meal is served all at once in a big, black, Japanese bento box. Each bento order also includes a soup and a drink — cocktail, beer, wine. My ginger martini packed a punch(although the flavor was rather muddled). And the batter-fried grouper bento delivered one large + one medium-sized fillet. There was also a tofu-filled miso soup, mango salad, a huge scoop of white rice and some little discs of some type of fried something(that was tasty). The room has a futuristic, night-club feel that would make an Asian Jetsons family very happy. Service was friendly and patient. Good value in a pleasant setting. :)

My friend suggested that we have lunch here during our summer stroll through Chelsea, and I’m glad she did. Very casual atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff, nicely located at a corner for people watching — always a good thing to do in this area. The menu has an Asian fusion theme and the food is quite delicious and nicely priced. I look forward to dining here again during my future visits to this part of town.

I love this place! First of all you can not help, but want to go into this place for dinner because the radiant neon light that illuminates the bottom half of the restaurant is very attractive. I have been looking for a Thai restaurant that could compare to my first Thai food experience in Wellesley, MA and this place comes pretty close. A friend and I had the Pad Thai and the fried calamari and they were both great. Their Pad Thai noodles were delicious! You gotta try them!

This place was alright — pan-Asian food in a modern setting. I only had a cocktail, but it was good and the service was decent. I did have a taste from a couple of other dishes(fried rice and a chicken and vegetable dish) and it was okay — not the most impressive stuff, but pretty decent if you’re in the area. While the décor looks cool and modern, closer examination reveals cheap materials used to make the place look better than it really is. This spot isn’t that expensive(most items were around $ 10 — $ 12) so it’s an okay choice for pan-Asian cuisine.

The décor and design of Nooch drew me into the restaurant. I honestly had higher expectations as to what the interior looked like, but I still find it trendy nonetheless. If I remember correctly I had the strangest fruity martini that tasted confused. Perhaps, I just ordered the wrong drink. The food however, was surprisingly delish! I think my expectations of Asian fusion cuisine keeps climbing higher, hence the startling surprises. I definitely advise getting the Salmon Avocado salad. It made my tastebuds dance up a fever — having two of my favorite foods in one dish made my night.

Aforementioned manager is named Jasmine and she knows how to take care of a customer! She has gotten me tipsy on martinis in less than an hour with her constant refilling of my glass. She knows how to kick ‘em back when she knows your name and face. The joys of being a regular, right?! The place still has one of the best shrimp pad thai’s I’ve tasted in the city and certainly better than Republic’s, but these days, Nooch’s Grilled Salmon with Saffron Rice is what I keep ordering again and again! It’s a little pricey at $ 21 but well worth it when the fish cooked to the perfect texture, the red curry sauce is well-balanced(not too salty, not too coconut milky), and the saffron rice is so flavorful in its own right. Try their mojitos too, because they come in glasses as big as your water glass. It’s serious and good.

I strongly recommend, should you go here, that you never eat the fish. Yes it’s an asian restaurant(I don’t know what kind, they have everything on the menu japanese/thai/chinese??) but the fish I had the time I got a tuna salad tasted like it’d been in the fridge a few days and well really that spoiled my opinion of nooch. My friends seem to like this place, we always end up here almost every time we’re in chelsea despite my bit of whining, as all I can think about is that tuna I almost didn’t survive one bite of. All I’ll order here is the thai spring rolls an app for only 5 $ they are like freezer box rolls but it beats watching other people eat. And they are pretty good, I mean, you can’t mess up frozen spring rolls really.

I’d probably get take-out from Nooch again but I’d definitely skip the spicy tuna roll and probably any other sushi offerings. The yaki soba redeems Nooch for me and it’s what I’d order next time.

Didn’t have any food here… just stopped in for a couple of drinks. The place had a really fun décor and made me feel okay with ordering one of their many flavored martinis on the menu. Normally I’m a fan of dirty martinis or ones with silver tequila, but I tried one with vanilla vodka and OJ and a grape-tini. The drinks were pretty good, and the bartender topped off our martinis when they hit the halfway point. Definitely a unique place to check out.
