Why are the reviews on here all so old?!
This Chipotle location is an utter mess. Staff doesn’t care at all. The thing they care least about is what you’re actually ordering. They’re so on auto-​pilot that they start slapping things onto your order before you get the chance to tell them what you want. I’ve been here many times and I get a different surprise ingredient almost every time. They just go down the line and say «sour cream?» and then just slap it on before I can say NO! Today I got cheese although I said guac.
Their portion sizes are wildly inconsistent.
Their guacamole always has big hard weird chunks of avocado in it, always; and pieces of the avocado skin, always.

I go here often cuz I work around the corner. It is consistently the worst costumer service I’ve ever experienced. Unorganized, apathetic, not helpful, slow. They seem to be hanging out more than working. Every time I go in. Then they tried to refuse me tap water.
I love chipotle but this location is terrible

So here is how it went. We ordered the bowls with steak and got all the fixings on them. We got it to stay. The line was short enough that there was no wait.
The food: The steak was dry and burnt. The rice was cold. They put more sour cream then anything else to the point where it was almost soupy. I took my first bite and the whole plate of food was cold as if it was straight from the fridge. To top it off the sprite was out of order on the soda machine.
Needles to say I was utterly dissapointed.
Even though the food was total crap I thought the forks were top notch. Strong plastic, almost good enough to use at home. I might have to find out what fork supplier they use to order myself a pack of them.
The forks are why they received the second star. Otherwise I would have gone with the one lonely star.

It was Cinco De Mayo and I was hoping they might have special deals. They did not. I ordered a chicken burrito and a margarita with Sauza tequila. I got the burrito before my drink.
The burrito I ordered had chicken, brown rice, corn salsa, tomatillo salsa, tomatoes, cucumber, iceberg lettuce, black beans, and sour cream.

Should be a *better* rating for this Chipotle!
They gave FREE coupons to my friend & I for just being the cool people we are lol and the staff was cool too; having a funny conversation with us while getting our food.
We got yummy food, chips & 2 Patron Margarita’s that were amazingly made well.
Definitely going back to this location :)

Not my fave! The lines always super crazy and the food is ok but not very authentic. I know it’s supposed to be a faster Mexican option but I wish they had a little more variety.

Well what can I say? Chipotle is Chipotle!!! This visit was a little different. Being that it’s Ash Wednesday I decided to get a Sofrita bowl. I got some Chips and Guac and it became instant Nachos!!! Paired wth a Beer!!!
Really not a big fan of Chipotle… Its what it is!!!

Good food, but I felt as though the dude making the first part of the burrito was slopping the rice and chicken onto the tortilla a little too speedily. He coulda done it with more finesse. That’s my only concern.

Management really needs to do something about the homeless who enter. They rummage through the forks and knifes and make their way into the garbage to get receipts with the bathroom code on them.
So yes next time you grab a utensil it might not be as clean as you think!

I give all Chipotles in Manhattan 4 to 5 stars, the price is extremely cheap for what they are serving and where. A veggie bowl costs the same regardless if it is purchased in South Carolina, Washington DC, Bronx, New York, etc.
The key factor of any restaurant establishment is management, and this Chipotle fails to average performance.
Things that I keep track when trying to judge a establishment, if its rush hour, the area, and how many employees on deck. During this review, plenty of employees, right before rush dinner hour (so pretty slow), and it was a weekend.
Food tastes pretty standard minor some spices on the tofu and how the Pico de gallo was prepared.
I laugh about other reviews, eating at a Chipotle is as cheap as price can get, any cheaper and you are eating a hot dog or a slice of pizza at a gas station or a bag of Doritos. You must put the review in context.
I do recommend this place
One final line, ALL Chipotle need to address cleanliness at all times. They are going thru the same boom and syndrome Golden Coral suffered when it hit its peak. Chipotle must go past the hump and make it happen by having clean counter tops, floors, trash cans. Up until this review I have yet ever seen a Chipotle employee do a round across the tables to reorganize, clean, wipe the areas. Its up to the customer to clean after others, and just walk over left overs that fell on the floor.
Its OK place to eat if you are hungry or travelling

I love Chipotle. I love Chipotle with all my heart. If I could eat one thing for the rest of my life, it would be Chipotle. But — I don’t love this location, at all.
I work in the area, so I decided to get my usual burrito bowl to go. I take it back to the office. I sit down, I start eating. But I see something, on my lettuce. And what is on my lettuce? Is it a bean? Is it a piece of cilantro? Oh! It’s a dead fly, chillin there like it’s nobody’s business. Absolutely, DISGUSTING. And I couldn’t even go back to show them this monstrosity because I couldn’t leave the office. Sucked sucked sucked.

Jonathon: I had the burrito bowl with no rice, beans, or lettuce. So a good paleo option.

I absolutely love Chipotle.
Is it wrong that I probably go more often for their margaritas than their food? Sometimes it’s a hit or miss. I truly believe every location is different. They season the meat slightly differently. Sometimes they don’t make the margarita as strong as I would like. But I’m a lush and if I choose to pay $ 9 for a margarita at a food chain than $ 4/​$ 5 dollars at a low key happy hour then I must be a slight masochist.

Times must be rough because I got one of the saddest burritos I have had in a long time! The friendly servers only used their friendly demeanor to distract me from an adult size portion burrito! With all the other options in NYC I can wait to get my burrito fix until I’m closer to Taqueria Diana in the east village or grand morales in Brooklyn. 9 dollars is a lot for a kids meal! Came here for a second try. The first time got the steak burrito and side of guacamole and chips. When I got home guacamole was brown and chips were soggy.
Second time– ordered the same. There was a crazy line, the employees seem not to really care about what they were doing. I ordered the steak and in a high volume (think cafeteria style) my burrito was sloppily assembled. The smallest portion of steak ever, and when I looked at the guacamole it was brown again. A complete turnoff and almost $ 10 dollars for a burrito with just rice and lettuce #whack!
I do not understand why this place is always packed, it never delivers quality.

Food is great, but clearly the kids behind the counter need adult supervision.
Very small meat portion which makes you wonder what is going on and you end up leaving hungry. I saw an employee helping himself to a huge 2 scoops of grilled chicken and it was this same dude who gave me ½ a spoon of chicken and when I called him out he got upset.
I love Chipotle but this Chlesea 8^th avenue location needs a shake up. Wish there was some serious competition.
