Christian Oth was arrogant. He didn’t get any of the poses we asked for. And our family portraits cannot be framed because our heads are too close to the top that our heads get cut off. In addition, he didn’t help during any of the photos which led to almost every photo of the wedding party having at least one person with a unbecoming pose. How about some direction if you see someone hunched over? How about telling someone their hair was messed up? Just something wrong with just about all the pictures.

Not that they need another great review, but seriously the entire Christian Oth team is the absolute best. Andrew Kelly and Jack Jeffries photographed our December wedding in NYC and the photos are JUST AMAZING! I know everyone loves their wedding pictures, but there really is something special about the shots they are able to capture. So crisp. So real. Plus the guys were so fun to be with… when they weren’t practically invisible just doing their thing! Andrew also did our engagement shoot and my husband and I just adore him and really felt connected with him. They are totally worth the price, because you don’t just get amazing photographers and pictures– the entire team at Christian Oth are so great with customer service and they make you feel so special and important even long after the wedding is over. A lot of vendors don’t really care about you until a few weeks before your wedding, and certainly not after, but the Christian Oth team is the total opposite. They are so responsive always. They are a well-​oiled machine and every last detail of the process is so polished, but also really friendly at the same time. Really can’t rave about them enough!

As a bride and a professional photographer, looking for a wedding photographer was a personal nightmare (a classic case of the cobbler’s children having no shoes)! I had very high expectations and very particular aesthetic ideas of what I wanted my wedding photos to look like. Carolyn was exactly what I was looking for!
1– I loved that she was able to seamlessly blend into the party without it looking like a walking commercial photo equipment store.
Carolyn is very skilled: with nothing more than a camera with a mounted flash and natural lighting, she captured beautiful large family portraits and elegant candid moments.
2 — Carolyn was fantastic managing the larger group pictures. She was able to corral large groups without being intrusive or pushy. She diligently executed all requested shots and in addition, she surprised us with group shots of people I had not asked for… like figuring out which ladies were my high school girlfriends and taking a 12-​person group photo of them, or the photo of all my Mom’s siblings (all in their 80s) on the dance floor! Her attention to detail and group dynamics made our wedding album very special.
3– My husband and I had a 140 person wedding at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. In addition to the attendees, the venue and location shots were very important to us. Carolyn captured the environment with stunning atmosphere and detail shots.
4– Finally, any wedding is a very emotional and intimate day. Carolyn’s calm and pleasant demeanor made it feel more like having an extra friend around than having a stranger documenting you like the paparazzi.
If you are looking for a kind and skillful artisan, I highly recommend Carolyn.

The best decision we made in planning our wedding was hiring Christian Oth studios to do our photography. The pictures that we will have for the rest of our lives to remember our big day are absolutely stunning! I work in the fashion industry and have had many of my friends who are editors comment on how our pictures look like they came straight from a magazine. For us, having great pictures was one of the most important elements of the wedding, because we will look at them every day. I am so glad we chose Christian Oth studios. In addition to the fantastic photos, they walked us through the process and were so helpful in planning the shots that were the most important to us. It’s hard to describe the incredible experience we had with Christian Oth studios, especially our photographer Sue Kessler and her team. The photos were beyond fantastic — they told the story of our wedding. They truly capture the feelings we have for each other, our friends and family. The photos are works of art that we continue to look at in awe. The entire experience was the height of professionalism. In fact, Sue and the whole studio was kind and friendly yet unobtrusive. We think of Sue’s photos as one of the most generous gifts we received.
