Christmas In New York

All the Christmas oriented stores always speak to me and no matter how tacky they may look, I always have to walk in and take a peak.
Christmas In New York offers every ornament or theme you could ever desire. It was a lot of fun browsing everything they had to offer. Then, I became a woman on a mission in search for a New York inspired Christmas ornament for our tree. I was in luck, they have a whole section dedicated to New York themed ornaments. I wound up purchasing a cute red apple shaped ornament with the New York City skyline for $ 15 and walked out with a jolly grin on my face. The prices are smidge high for what I like to pay for ornaments but for that one special ornament, it’s worth the price.
For those people who love finding special ornaments or like decorating with a theme in mind, Christmas In New York is a great place to visit.

Quand on a envie d’imaginer un peu la magie de Noël à NYC quand on est touriste de septembre, il faut aller faire un tour dans cette petite boutique à faire à l’année.
On sort un peu des circuits touristiques pour se retrouver dans ce petit centre commercial de New-​York, en plein South Seaport. On va à l’étage et là, on né peut pas manquer cette boutique tant elle scintille et elle brille.
En plein septembre, j’ai eu l’impression d’être une gosse en pleine période Noël. Des décorations partout, thématisée NY ou non, à l’effigie des «clichés» New-​yorkais, mais aussi des clins d’oeil aux séries cultes. Oui oui, j’ai failli craquer sur une décoration de Noël «Sex and the city» représentant… une chaussure!
Ce qui nous a refroidi, ce fut les prix. C’est assez cher pour des petites décorations.
Mais bon, rien que pour la décoration de la boutique et le fait d’avoir vu South Seaport, on a été content de notre petit détour!

Es gibt sie tatsächlich — Shops in denen das ganze Jahr Weihnachten ist. Das Angebot ist genauso kitschig und überladen wie man es aus jedem amerikanischen Film oder Serie kennt die um Weihnachten spielen. Toll zum Kucken aber meinen Geschmack trifft es nicht.

Horrible place. The people barely speak English, the items are wayyyy overpriced & the customized ornaments are done in sharpie which can wash off awfully too easily

I like this tourist trap because the staff was nice! Sad fact that staff (anywhere.) is generally rude and unhappy. So to have a salesdude who was really nice to me makes them deserve a review. It’s a shop in the South St Seaport mall that’s not there all the time. although does sell Christmas items in May. Anyway, here you will find things to hang on your tree that resemble old tv and movie characters, etc etc. I’m a sucker and bought a my-​little-​pony ornament for 8 bucks. What a collection I’m building.
