Cooper Classics Collection

After my sister’s birthday brunch, we visited Cooper Classics Collection to take a gander at the impeccably-​restored, beautiful vintage cars which appeared to be from the ’50’s, ’60’s and ’70’s. The showroom we looked at was the only one open on weekends. I believe the other one which was across the street may be by appointment only. While I haven’t driven in ages and hardly consider myself to be a car aficionado, I have always enjoyed old cars, especially that scent they have of gasoline and nostalgia, and have spent quite a bit of time driving around in them over the years and even attending car shows.
I was pleasantly surprised that no one tried to sell us a vehicle and just let us take it in as if we were in a museum or gallery. I would definitely stop by again if I’m in the neighborhood.

A great place to buy a classic – Mercedes 1970 has been a winner so far!

They have amazing vintage cars. From American classics like a 1957 Ford Thunderbird to European such as a 1973 Ferrari Daytona, 1960 Bentley S2 Saloon LHD and 1960 Mercedes-​Benz 220SE Convertible (I got those names from their site BUT those cars were really there). There were more and they were beautiful! They are an art.
The owner Elliot Cuker (He gave us his name card) was nice enough to invite us to upstairs to chat (a great sales person). Elliot asked many questions. Basically how much we have and if not, what business opportunity that he can connect. (Nothing is wrong being an owner-​sales person I suppose.) Then he went on telling us I have a house in Hampton (South?) and I know so and so… continued going on and told us about his space. It is easily transformed and use as event. Mezzanine is a gallery… (basically space for rent… he never mentioned of).
All of many things he said there was one thing interested me. This Italian restaurant near his place supposed to have great foods. He again dropped many names coming to this restaurant. Then, he insisted to come for lunch next week. I told him that I am leaving for Palm Spring next week.
The restaurant he mentioned was Barbuto on Washington St in Meatmarket that I never been but I know this space. Building is Industria Superstudio (renting studios for photographers and events). I have been to some of the studios (they have many). Photographer friend used to shoot there till he got his own studio in the neighborhood.
In front of the entrance to the studios, there was caf (I remembered it was Dean & DeLuca. After, I think it was dead space for while.
Cooper Classic Collection is a great place to visit and see those beautiful cars. The space is small but I can see how beautifully and special to have an event here and with quiet West Village street.
