It took ten minutes to get a menu and they never came back to take our order! Maybe because I was with a black woman they didn’t want to serve us! Beware!

I would say overall 4 stars, but I’m giving an extra star just for the neighborhood… it’s hard to find a place that doesn’t cost a small fortune around there. Good food(I had a cobbsalad salad), ample portions & cost was $ 15, which is reasonable. Good happy hour drink specials too… they have one kind of red & a pinot grigio for $ 5, Cosmo for $ 7. Amiable, fast service. Great neighborhood kind of place. Great for a bite before a show at Lincoln Center too. I definitely will be back!

I’m sorry guys but I wasn’t a fan! It’s your typical Irish pub in New York City and I love Irish pubs. It’s small, lots of wood and drinks selection is pretty typical. I’ve never been when it’s busy. What puts me off however was the long haired Irish bartender I had serve me and my colleagues in the few occasions I’ve been here. He wasn’t very friendly and was sarcastic and mumbled under his breath when we tried to be polite and order drinks and talk to him. I can appreciate that maybe not all bartenders want to interact with customers but being rude is another thing. The makings of a great bar are not only the drinks and food but also welcoming service and unfortunately I didn’t experience that here anytime I’ve been here. Sorry!

I stop by on the weekends during football season, my favorite is the turkey burger with their bloody mary, which is really good and spicy! Good mix of music too.

Have been a couple times. Always have been great, good wings, a great burger. Last night an Indian man was the rudest I have seen to the bartender, cursing and yelling at her, all to do with their wings sauce being wrong(they have buffalo wings /only option). How he treated her was appalling, she tried to calm him /do what she can to make it better and he was degrading and demeaning to the point where she said he was cut off and politely asked him to leave, saying his tab is on the house, where he just got worse. Anyways, great place and sweet bartender. c

Messed up my order twice first ordered a chicken nacho and it came with no chicken second order buffalo wings and they brought out BBQ, the lady behind the counter suppose to be the manager was not helpful with changing orders. Stated they only make bbq wings, but we had buffalo a week ago.

The food is good and the atmosphere is great! If you are looking for a home town bar and you are from out if town this is the place that will make you feel welcome. The lunch crowd is regulars but they are happy to welcome new comers and the after work crowd is a lot of fun!!!

Not pleased in the slightest. Margarita pizza was. a huge disappoint. I have had $ 1.25 frozen pizza better than this. Especially bad when places not far sell a good slice of pizza for a dollar. Service was sub standard. We will NOT be coming back. Other places are far more friendly and will give you a good meal when you are already paying a lot.

Surprisingly delicious meal! My friend and I were looking for a place to get out of the rain and stumbled upon this place… it looked like any other Irish pub in NYC but the food was fantastic! When you enter the restaurant it’s primarily a bar and lounge area but towards the rear you’ll find cozy booths and tables for dining. We were provided with a basket of mixed bread(rye, raisin, and onion roll) along with butter to get us started. We ordered the burger and the baked scrod and both were extremely tasty and flavorful! They have a diverse menu with sandwiches, entrees, and specials. The prices were very reasonable for the areas(many items in the $ 10-$ 20 range). The portions were large and the service was attentive and quick. Will definitely return to this little place if I’m in the area in the future!

I probably won’t go back– I could have made my meal at home… and I’m a horrible cook. Very plain and standard. Service was ehh. It was nice that there was outdoor seating but it was really crammed.

Best kept secret in 57th Street! Looking for something scrumptious around Columbus Circle which won’t cost you an arm & a leg… DJ the proprietor is actually present and gracious to all who enter. A lively friendly attentive staff serves up the best fish & chips we’ve had west of Ireland. The bartender Siobhan is fabulous!!! Delightful funny she helped celebrate my husband“s bday with everyone at the bar. Highly recommended –have one on the house!!!

Came here with my wife before a concert on pier 97. Service was great and drinks were strong(very strong). Haven’t had the food, will have to come back to scout the food situation.

I came here last Friday night for a quick bite to eat. I had the French onion soup and shared the sampler platter with my mom. The sampler platter consists of jalapeño poppers, potato skins, mozzarella sticks, and wings. No complaints as far as the taste of the food or the portions go. The wing sauce that they use is mouthwatering, so I definitely recommend trying the wings. They don’t taste particularly like Buffalo wings(in all fairness, I’m not sure if they’re intended to), but they have their own unique flavor of sweet and spicy that will make them difficult to resist if I choose to return here. The interior is small, but the seating affords a degree of privacy and the noise level allows for conversation. The cocktails were satisfactory and the selection of beers and liquors contains a nice variety. That being said, our server barely acknowledged us, and the service was incredibly slow. We had to flag down our server for drink refills and the check, after about 20 minutes went by and we hadn’t been checked on. The server was not keen on eye contact or smiling, and instead of saying«hello» or letting us know his name, the first thing out of his mouth was«are you ready to order?» This is a forgivable offense. Even though the restaurant was not busy, you never know what someone is going through, and I’m not sure his negligence was entirely deliberate. He was also not outwardly rude or giving preferential treatment to other customers. I’m not opposed to coming back here, and I feel that this place deserves 3 stars for now. Whether I end up adding or removing stars would depend on how future visits go.

Great place to stop for pint of Guinness. The owner Dennis is a very personable man that makes you feel welcome wether it’s your first time or 1000th time there. Oh did I mention the Guinness pints are one of the best pints in NYC?

We had very high hopes for this place, as we love Irish Pubs. In a lot of ways we were let down. We were seated close to the back of the pub, in a corner booth that was very tight, to the point of being uncomfortable. I could not even move my legs. My friend and I both ordered the French Onion soup, as we had been walking in the cold all day long. When it came out and was lukewarm, and they use mozzarella cheese, not the Swiss or Gruyère I am used to. The soup was relatively bland. Very average. I ordered a cheesesteak and my friend a rueben. My cheesesteak was awful! A chewy, bland, unseasoned slab of meat. Served on a plain roll(not garlic as stated on the menu), with a slice of American cheese… YUK. My friends rueben was ok, but nothing great. The service was horrible. No one checked back to see if we needed anything. We had to ask for our check twice, and three different people were waiting on us. With all of the choices in the area, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

Just had a very informal business lunch here. Myself and a colleague went very early, around 11:30am, and ate at the bar. The place was empty, except for a regular having a few morning drinks. We both went very light. Started with a shrimp cocktail each. Decent, not like I get at The Palm, but what is, it’s a bar. Had the standard cocktail sauce, I believe 5 small shirmp served on a bed of lettuce with some very nice cherry tomatoes, which were fresh and tart, nice aside from the shrimp. For my main dish I went for the Grilled Chicken and Caesar Salad. Standard, but fresh. Big portion. Seasoned, and the chicken was cut thin and cooked well and had kind of a nice smoky flavor. I had a Guinness, my colleague an Octoberfest, and we were on our way. The gal behind the bar was very nice and accommodating. After we ordered, a crew of guys came in and ordered, so our meal took some time, but not too long, and we both enjoyed our light fare. Used to hit Kennedy’s on the same street, but that has recently closed. Check out DJ’s if you are on 57 Street.

I wish Canadians would stop sullying the good name of bacon. I don’t know how they weaseled their mediocre ham into the standard Eggs Benedict, but there it is. Anyhoo(this is my first time saying ‘anyhoo’), DJ Reynolds is actually a surprisingly solid choice for a large group brunch/lunch. They handled our giant party quite well, including bringing me alcohol in a timely enough fashion that made dealing with family quite easy, and even pleasant. The food is not particularly special, but they make a decent Eggs Benny, a slightly weak Cobb salad, and although their fries are of the steak variety, they were actually not terrible. I don’t think we would’ve ended up there if it wasn’t in honor of my great aunt(96 years young!), because she doesn’t stray more than a block from her building next door, but you could do a lot worse.

Delicious traditional french onion soup? Service with a smile? Clean restrooms? Yes, please. Excuse the uncharacteristic brevity in this review but I’ve only been here once so I’ll save some space for future updates. I love the atmosphere and DJ Reynolds is much more quieter place to have drinks and dinner with friends. Can’t wait to go back here and try out more of their menu!
