DANY Studio was way larger than I anticipated! After checking in at the front desk I was directed to Studio 4, where the TrampoLEAN class was being held. There were a bunch of people milling around, either lining up for class or hanging out on the couches. I was a little grossed out by the bathrooms on the upper level near the lockers, but it was probably a really busy time for them(the after-work crowd all there for exercise classes) and they couldn’t monitor the bathrooms every minute. I liked that I didn’t have to put my things in a locker and could instead just place it in the back of the studio I was in. I got there about 5 – 10 minutes early and grabbed a trampoline next to my friend. We spent the first 5 minutes bouncing around with huge smiles on our faces. This was my first time doing a trampoline class and I hadn’t been on one in years, so I felt like a kid. The class is 50 minutes long, and I think that was the perfect length. We spent most of the class bouncing around, rotating between tabata intervals(a form of interval training that alternates between high intensity activities and periods of rest) and various exercises. We also spent some time doing ab work while sitting/laying on the trampoline-this was probably my favorite part of the class. Positives: clean studio that was kept at a great temperature, instructor offered to take pictures after class of friends being silly on the trampolines, you could choose how intense you wanted the workout to be based on how you jumped or how engaged you were in the activities, plenty of modifications available Negatives: the instructor moved a little more quickly than I think the class could keep up with, unclean bathrooms

Interesting studio, interesting class. Unfortunately my instructor was subbing(I took the trampoLEAN class), so you could tell that this wasn’t her regular class. I was speaking to another girl who did a class prior to this and she said the other instructor clearly had more of a structure. The studio is a bit hidden; a few more signs could be helpful — and maybe on the walls instead?(as the doors are open — so you can’t see the DANY sign that’s on the back!). I’d like to come back here to try the class again, as it’s a good cardio class and… well you’re jumping on a trampline! :)

I really like the fact that this studio has a street level entrance, thru a bright red door on 38th street. It may lead up down a strange hallway, up some stairs, wind down another long hallway, and up another flight of stairs. Once you enter, though, it’s a modern, bright, two-floor space with several studios on both floors that overlook 38th street or 8th avenue. They are multiple sizes and although primarily use for dance, can be rented for multiple purposes(we came for a yoga class). Bathrooms have showers; Rooms have hardwood floors, mirrors, curtains, and sound systems. They could be a bit cleaner(dusty floors), and the staff could be a bit friendlier. But overall, a great studio space in the heart of midtown.

Spacious, airy, multi-level building that houses multiple dance/fitness classes simultaneously, such as ballet, Doonya, Dance Motivation Fitness, and Vixen. There are plenty of couches for lounging, plus a reception area. Free WiFi, but water and snacks all come at a price of course. Women’s locker room and bathroom are located on the 2nd floor within DANY Studios. Lockers can only be rented. 3 showers available, several bathroom stalls, and only 2 sinks, which can get crowded around between classes, but not badly. Entrance is kind of hidden: Must buzz in through bright red double doors, then walk up to the 3rd floor to enter DANY Studios, which is 2 floors high.
