Dapper Duds

This place sucks.
I usually go to a place on 84^th btw 2^nd & 3^rd, but they were closed when I arrived– most likely due to the «blizzard of 2016».
«Dapper Duds» is the only other place I know in the neighborhood. I’ve been here before, but apparently they got a facelift recently.
Now, post «improvement», all the washers and dryers are operated by a card system instead of coins. You have to pay $ 2 for a «laundry card», then load it with money. Thanks for adding this extra step to an already soul-​crushing NYC experience DD! :)
And, as if that weren’t inconvenient enough– the machine by which you load your laundry card only accepts bills– not cards (even though there is a card reader in the machine) nor coins. Also! It only accepts 5’s, 10’s and 20’s. So I get to overload my card with higher value bills just to walk away with money on my card that I may never use again! Yay!!! Thanks again double-​D!
I mentioned to the attendant on duty– who so politely notified me of the new system and then that the machine did not accept dollar bills– that this was a very inconvenient system. He barked something back at me that added up to «I just work here and if you don’t like it, you don’t have to use.»
And that’s just what I won’t be doing. As long as I can help it, I will never patronize this laundromat again.
