I am upset that I even have to give this godforsaken place one star. This place is awful. Completely and utterly awful. The service is slow. I am convinced like 3 people work there. I am also convinced those 3 people were never trained. For instance, one time, I ordered from here on Seamless. Yes, pathetic I know, but your girl wanted some blueberry pancakes. My 30 – 40 minute wait time quickly turned in an hour. At that point, I called them directly. They told me they«never received my order». I then contacted Seamless to further investigate the error. The representative from Seamless confirmed that my order indeed had been received and followed up with the restaurant to ensure that I would get my order. An hour and a half later my order was delivered. Cold. Pancakes sliced in half and crammed in a tiny box. Runny, chilled, eggs mashed in with my hashbrowns. Disgusting quality. Of course, I ate the pancakes because I mean come on, they were irresistible blueberry pancakes. Another time, I went with two of my friends. Knowing how awful the service was, we had prepared ourselves to wait for at least 20 minutes before anyone who worked there acknowledged our presence. I was correct. In the empty establishment, it took us 20 minutes to even get seated. Our service was so painfully slow, the food orders were so horrendously incorrect, and the presentation of our dishes was so unappealing; in my hunger and wrath, I immediately demanded to speak to the manager. We were given a free meal and a free milkshake for the road as a result. So I guess they do deserve one star. Because despite how miserable these people are at running a dining establishment, if you complain enough, you might just get a whole bunch of free sh*t.

0. Worst Restaurant service I’ve ever had. After waiting 15 min to be seated with no crowd, We sat at our table for over 15 min waiting to even get water. No one ever came to bring us water or take a drink order and we finally just got up and left. It’s a Denny’s so we didn’t expect much but this was by far one of the most pathetic excuses for service. The servers should probably all be fired and replaced with people who would actually work instead of sitting behind the hostess area.

The reviewers are not joking. There was a large family near us who were apoplectic with fury, over an hour wait, most of the orders were wrong, things missing. A total disaster. We were led to a table even though we wanted a booth. We were told we’d be moved to a booth when one was available but they ignored that and kept moving new people into the booths as they were cleaned. As it happens, it didn’t seem to matter as not much food was coming out anyway, in the hour we were there, we saw the shambles on the next table and only one other couple get any food at all. After waiting twenty minutes, we nearly left but then someone did turn up and take our order. Two coffees turned up, not tasting good, and a milkshake with no cream(they’d run out). After another forty minutes, no coffee refills, no sign of our server, other tables getting angry, we cut our losses and bailed out. Not sure how this place makes any money as it wasn’t that busy and I’d seen them get nothing right while I was in there. Seriously, go anywhere but here.

Waren hier zum Frühstücken. Denny’s kannten wir gut von der Westküsten Tour und sind immer gerne dort. Daher entschieden wir, auch in NY hinzugehen und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Wir bekamen all anerican Breakfast. Rühreier, Kartoffelpuffer, Wurst und Speck. Dazu Kaffee. Es ist sehr lecker und dazu haben wir Pancake bekommen, mlt ahornsirup gesüßt. Die Kellnerin war sehr freundlich und hier gibt es auch Wifi.

Waited for 10 minutes at our table and NOONE came to wait on us. What a waste of time. NYC wasted prime real estate with this restaurant.

This place sucks. Period. As a student right across the street and a Denny’s fan I was so excited that this was going to be a cheap option for food with a bar. I went once when they first opened. The service was HORRENDOUS. We had to wait to be seated, and then wait 45 mins just to receive our food. This was understandable, they just opened, they didn’t have there bearings together. I opted to give Denny’s a try again when they got their stuff together. Second time I brought a friend from out of town to grab a bite. BIGMISTAKEAGAIN. This time we waited to be seated, and waited even longer for food. We waited so long to the point where we wanted to get up and go. Finally got our food– nothing to write home about. Third and last time, My father came to visit me in the city, having celiac disease he is a fan of Denny’s gluten free options. I warned the service usually stinks, upon arriving we were greeted with a wait. No surprise. You are not allowed to sit at the bar for faster service. While waiting in the bar area I witnessed a woman try to go into the kitchen to get her waiter and ask if she could cook. And the table behind her got up and left. After witnessing this we got up and left also, and went to squires diner down the street. I will never return, and do not recommend to anyone.

Read the reviews and expected all the negatives, bad/slow service etc. But I got exactly the opposite. Friendly, fast service and the same Denny’s food I remembered from my college days. So the stars are for the service not the food since it is Denny’s. Shout out to the server D. Santa for being extraordinary at 8AM on a Sunday!

It’s a really big restaurant. A few of my friends went there for dinner Friday night and it was dead. There were maybe 2 employees for the whole place. Food was average and so were the drinks. Good for large groups. They have a $ 2 $ 4 $ 6 menu if you’re looking for a quick meal.

The hospitality was great and the décor theme is that of the prohibition times. I came here with family and enjoyed there company. The margarita was made to my liking as they have a complete cocktail bar. Our waitress was very accommodating, comedic and resourceful. If you are looking for a quick meal they have daily deals and special prices for senior citizens.

Man. Haters gonna hate, apparently. But I Denny-finitely disagree. Came into Denny’s after excitedly spotting it in the neighborhood, a peak in the window showed off a bar – oh my! The novelty of a Dennys in Manhattan and the sheer surprise of stumbling upon it, I’m sold, and excited. Thanks to a little Halloween tom foolery, the next morning was the perfect chance to chase my grand slam dreams and absorb that tequila! My expectations were low per these terrible reviews, but I was fully prepared for long wait, slow service etc. I was in the company of an established man who, though hard to please, was willing to wait as we put our names on the list for a ten minute wait. No more than 4 minutes went by and we were seated. Our wonderful waitress Santi warned us service would be slow, but we placed our delightful bfast orders and were entertained by the seasonal world scramble on the placemats!!! Oh, and they were out of OJ. Yikes, but settled for apple juice.(This was the only demerit that took off one star) Not more than 8 minutes passed and our whole meal arrived! I v v much enjoyed my buttery pancakes and assortment of breakfast meats. My dining parter had a delightful side of fruit that looked fresh and FILLING. Needless to say, it was fabulous and exceeded my expectations.

This place has not improved since our last few visits. The service remains consistently below average, as almost all other reviewers have stated. There does not appear to be any teamwork here. While we waited to be seated, at least five members of the staff walked by us, never acknowledging that we were standing by the door. After about 10 minutes, I asked a passing waiter if we were to seat ourselves, to which said that the cashier will seat us. Our waiter was pleasant and took our orders promptly, and after about 25 minutes brought our dishes to us. However, the dish(breakfast skillet) looked nothing like it did on the menu or the last time we ordered it. In fact, it was missing at least four ingredients. The waiter queried the kitchen staff and learned that they ran out of some ingredients(mushrooms, onions, peppers). We thought about sending this back and ordering something else altogether, but it was too stressful to even think of waiting another 20 minutes(or more) for another dish. When we were ready to leave, we could not find our waiter. I walked around to look for a staff person who then went to the register to get our bill. Our waiter came to apologize, saying he was sorting silverware. It seems like the staff — at least three or four at a time — occupy one booth at the base of the stairs to the bathroom and wrap silverware. I’m not quite certain what they were doing, but they’re not serving customers. In retrospect, this group at staffers was sitting at the booth when we arrived. It seemed to be a social gathering. Well, at least they’re having fun. They were clearly more interested in socializing than in providing quality customer service. We won’t be coming back. Believe the bad reviews about slow, slow service. We’ve been here now at least four times over the past three or four months, hoping for improvement. Unfortunately, the service has never gotten better, only worse.

0 stars. Just read what everyone else wrote. Upon seating ourselves, the«waiter» informed us it will take 30 minutes for food to arrive due to the firing of one of their two chefs and staffing issues. As our party of 3 apprehensively obliged, one individual found a long hair in his Coke soft drink. Disgusting. We proceeded to wait an additional 1 hour plus and no sign of food or update so we got up and left and will never be stepping foot inside this sorry establishment again. Safe your time, save your money, save your pride– NEVERGOTOTHISDENNY’S!!!

«Manhattan» “Had“ These are the only two featured words for Denny’s attempt at classing up their business downtown*. Dropped by for a free birthday grand slam, and honestly was going to issue an unabashed 4 stars to Denny’s, then I was there for 32 minutes waiting for food when the place was dead. Service started great and ended terribly, and food was fine but couldn’t compensate for that. *Not a euphemism

Denny’s is without a doubt the worst restaurant in the financial district. Anyone who gives this place more than one star is a paid shill. Slow preparation, shitty food packed with calories, horrible service. I could not find a single redeeming quality to the place, even the seats were uncomfortable I’ve learned my lesson, next time I am checking Unilocal before walking into an Diner.

Just simply the worst. I walk in to Dennys for breakfast, just to be told that I’ll have to wait 40 minutes for my breakfast because there’s only 1 waitress/hostess and 1 chef in the kitchen! This is Dennys! The whole business is catered around giving the«homade,» «down south style,» diner breakfast experience. It’s like going to McDonald’s and being told that they’re out of Big Mac’s and that fries will take 20 minutes. Hopefully this Dennys will have to be forced to leave. The space could be used for something greater, like a parking garage.

Pros: charming place, fancier than the average Denny’s, lovely music. tasty food and good location. Cons: service is extremely slow, waiting staff was not helpful(at least my waitress today) Upon entering I was impressed by the design and style of this Denny’s, and I was greeted and seated pretty quickly by the hostess. The main problem was my waitress. She did not seem to be very interested in delivering good service. And after I placed my order, not a single time did she come back to check on me. I had to ask a different server to include additional items in my order because she was not around. Then there was the wait for the food. I know I ordered something that takes a little longer to cook — the T-bone steak — but I had to wait about 40 minutes to get it. Besides, the lady who sat across from me and ordered pancakes and fruit, basically at the same time I ordered, also had to wait quite a bit before she got her food. And the restaurant was not full! I wonder how much longer we would have had to wait had it been a full house. The food itself was good. No complaints here. But if I wanted a napkin, I had to literally wave both hands up in the air to get my waitress’ attention. I had never been treated that way before. When I expressed my frustration to the waitress and to the person at the register, they did not offer any kind of explanation or to call the manager. They simply said: «We apologize for the inconvenience.»

First time going to a Denny’s, I was excited. First thought while walking in at 9pm Friday night, are they closing? It took 8min for us to be shown to a table because the hostess wasn’t where she was suppose to be. Upon ordering, it took rather long for the food to arrive considering there were only 3 tables of order going out. Although are waitress was really nice and gentle, she saved this review from being a one star. Great service from her, overall service hmm it took 15 min for my drink to come when the bar was behind us.

I came here when it first opened having met a few chefs in a drunken interlude at my favorite Irish bar in The Beekman arms(just. around the corner). The experience was truly awful with bad service forgotten items and cold food. I vowed never to return — as with most of intentions they were made with gusto and a belief that I meant it. However after flying in from London yesterday I woke up hungry. that combined with me having the will power of a gnat and being extremely lazy, I decided to venture into this posh Denny’s one more time. So after all the preamble — how was it it Phil ?? Well it looks like no other Dennys you have seen, with a full bar. Quietly playing Jaz Blues music in the background(ps I agree Jaz so want load at all). I was greeted pleasantly and had just for a change I ordered bacon, sausage, egg with English muffin and a cup of tea on the form of a BYO Slam with one extra item and tea(get on the read mill porky). $ 15.09 before tip All done very well. Now it’s quite early on Sunday morning so this could explain the transformation as last time I crawled here was 1pm and VERY busy. But pleasantly surprised and glad I am lazy Welshman and tried it again

Never knew there was one in the city. I loved eating here when I was in Albany for college. Now that this one is near my house I’m excited. I stuck to the grand slam for 9 bucks and it was very good. The place is big however it can be pretty cold due to the setup of it. The service was okay. Not horrendous but during the moments they weren’t needed they were there and when they were needed I couldn’t find them. Ill come back though because I am a fan of Dennys. Seated us quick, changed our seat to help my friend and I be warmed within 5 minutes. AMAZINGHOTCHOCOLATE. Strong Coffee.
