Great service and awesome food I love there BBQ! Unseasoned one was really tender and juicy and marinated one let me know the fantastic taste of Korean style sauce. Besides, the servers were friendly! I really had good time there. Plus, I like their wine selection :) and every month they offer discounted special wine menu. I will visit the restaurant very soon.

I go there regularly, and I love their lunch specials. The price is generally reasonable and the service was great. If you’re planning to visit, try the Bo special for lunch or spicy marinated galbi cuz they are the best.

«…Banchan is limited» Food was good but not amazing. Standard high Manhattan prices. What disappointed us more was the service. Banchan portions were very small. We sat down with 6 people and the portions were enough for 1 person. We asked for more and 3 rounds were brought for us with the same small portions and quite slowly. We asked for a 4th round and had to ask several times. We waited over twenty minutes for any Banchan to be served which was only Kimchi. When we were requesting those several times none of the servers acknowledged that it would be brought over. They went about their business and didn’t say anything to us. Which is quite rude. We had to ask twice for the bill and when they finally brought it over 18.5% gratuity was already included. We left 15% and two servers came over asking for the few dollars that were short. We spoke to them about the lack of service and our food getting cold waiting for kimchi and other banchan. To which they told us that«There is a limit to the Banchan» and they in fact gave us 7 rounds of Banchan and that’s why they stopped serving it to us. Before we left the manager tried to smooth things over with us and told us that Banchan should have been brought over. Doesn’t help that we wasted our time with terrible service. I have never been to a Korean restaurant where the staff doesn’t say a word to you during the meal and serving but then when they are short a few dollars they were right on top of us.

Great vegetarian option. My first time eating korean in NY and it was delicious. Tables are a little weird and i felt rushed but there were not too many vegetarian options and it might have taken me a little while to read everything on the menu.

My friend chose this place for my birthday dinner, which was a group of 5. It was the perfect choice! The skirt steak, bulgogi with glass noodles, and scallion pancake were particularly delicious. I have had a lot of Korean bbq in LA Koreatown, and the quality of this food was better. Make sure to use the various sauces and seasonings they provide, as that definitely enhances and balances the flavor. Aside from the wonderful food, the service was gracious and accommodating. My friend had brought a birthday cake, which they kept chilled until it was time to light candles and whatnot. They even took a picture of our table, printed it out, and gave it to me in a birthday card from the restaurant. The whole thing made me feel very special. I am planning on coming back with anyone I know who enjoys Korean bbq!

Dons Bogam is one of the better Korean BBQ joints in K-town which sits on the end of the strip on 32nd between 5th and Madison. We were a party of four and opted for the Variety of 5 Beef Platter combo along with an order of the Pork neck and both meats were surprisingly juicy and tender. I’ve been to my fair share of K-BBQ joints but this one stood out. The service was attentive and the décor was upscale and modern, without being pretentious. Not once did we have to ask for a water refill or extras on the ban chan and lettuce wraps for the meats! That’s a major plus in my book considering K-BBQ isn’t cheap! Overall, a great option if you’re looking for something delicious and different.

I’ve been to quite a few Korean restaurants in the city and so far this one I like. In fact I have been here several times, I am just writing a review now. Whenever I have a visitor or friends who is in the mood for some Korean food I always bring them here or tell them to come to this place. After tasting several beef selections the only bbq I like is the marinated short ribs or the marinated Galbi, it’s tender easier to bite, flavorful and very tasty. The only thing I don’t like is you will smell yourself like bbq once you leave the place but it’s not as bad as the other Korean restaurants with bad ventilation. This one is actually the cleanest in town.

Dons Bogam definitely lives up to the Zagat and Unilocal endorsements posted on their window. When you walk into the restaurant, you will first enter the bar area. I came here for dinner at around 9:30pm today(Sunday evening), I was fooled by the emptiness of the bar. When I looked into the restaurant from outside, I thought they were closing, but the restaurant’s open till midnight even on Sundays. My friend and I got taken to a table with BBQ grill as soon as we walked in. When we sat down, the area was very hot, we asked our server about the AC and they immediately turned it on for the section. As we were looking through the many options on the menu, our server came over and promoted the Kobe beef($ 89.95 per order). He said he never had Kobe beef before until he started working at Dons Bogam and he said it was the best thing he had in his life. He also said the meat tasted like heaven. He said all that with such a cute smile that you didn’t even think you’re being sold the more expensive options :). However, for the evening, we only ordered the Galbi(regular) and bulgogi beef with vegetables and glass noodles in chef’s broth for make your own BBQ. Even though it says make your own BBQ(you need to put in 2 orders in order to get make your own BBQ at this place). *Even though the BBQ is called make your own, they actually help you cook the meat in front of your eyes for Korean BBQ. Before our meat arrived, they served us with 7 – 8 small dishes(banchan), their kimchi seems to lack a little spiciness, but all the other small dishes are good. As soon as you’re done with some of your small dishes, the server would come over to ask if you need any refills. Our meats arrived quickly after, first up was the Galbi(they removed the bone), our server placed the meats on the grill and skillfully flipped the meats during the right time and asked how we would like the meat cooked. We chose medium rare and the server actually delivered the perfect medium rare. Their meat was juicy, tender and flavorful. They also gave you lettuce leaves that you could use to do a wrap with the BBQ meat. I usually place kimchi, meat, kimchi(in a sandwich form) with jalapeño on the lettuce leaf and then wrap it up and eat. This place also gives your reddish(sliced turnip) to make the lettuce wrap with. Next up was the bulgogi beef with vegetables(mushrooms, leeks and onions) and glass noodles in chef’s broth. They placed a shallow pot on top of the stove and let the broth heat up and let the ingredients to cook. Our server waited on the side while the meat’s cooking and then came over to tell us when it’s ready to eat. There’s a pair of tongs for you to use to remove the glass noodles from the dish. The bulgogi meat were soft and well seasoned, the glass noodles soaked up all the broth(on the sweet side), the whole dish was delicious. Towards the end of our meal, we wanted some more hot tea, our server went to the kitchen to check and came back to let us know that they didn’t have any more hot tea. Once again, he did it with such a nice smile that you could care less about no more hot tea: D Overall, the service at Donsbogam is really good. Their food is excellent and the interior is well decorated.

My friends and I were looking for dinner and one of them suggested here. I had never tried Korean BBQ before so I was pretty pumped. Dons Bogam is a fairly large restaurant — lots of dark wood tones which plays into the Asian restaurant feel. The dining room is pretty large — to comes off as being small when you enter but opens up in the back to a number of tables. The seating is a bit unique(for me anyway) — instead of pulling a chair out to sit, you actually climb into your chair — so you’re seated in kind of a well. As expected, the tables have grills built into them for preparing the meats. I let my friends take charge with the menu — we were served a number of different pickled vegetables to start which included kimchi, radish, and seaweed. Then our main course was served — one by one various cuts of pork and beef were grilled at the table and served. Various salts, sauces, rice, and lettuce leaves were also served to compliment the meat. We stuck with pork and beef — each one I tried was very flavorful and super tender. Service was great — everyone was very friendly and attentive; echoing other reviews, they never forgot you and I never found myself having to ask for anything. Definitely a standout among the restaurants in K-Town.

Good… but way too expensive in my opinion. Came here with a group for dinner on Saturday night. The restaurant was packed so expect to wait if you don’t have a reservation. Note that you will not be seated until everyone in your party arrives. I had a few bbq items here: short rib, bulgogi, seafood pancake. All were very good. The bulgogi was my favorite. Banchan were also good but I found it annoying that the portions were so small. I asked for refills 4 – 5 times. You’d think after so many requests they might add a little more to the dishes… nope. After the 5th time staff started ignoring my requests. Overall the food was good but we ended up spending $ 80 per person(including 2 bottles of saki) which was a lot in my book. Maybe that is because I’m comparing it to LA where Korean bbq is much cheaper and ubiquitous. Either way I found it very annoying that the banchan portions were so tiny.

Amazing experience here. We shared a bottle of the cucumber soju, which was quite tasty, as well as the shumai, pork belly bbq, marinated short rib bbq, & bulgogi bibimbop with Korean basil. Each of these were unforgettably delicious. We finished each & every plate. Loved the daikon radishes, kim chi, pickled spicy apples, potato salad, fried crunchy seaweed, & sesame oil bean sprouts of the ban chan. A few more we couldn’t quite name, but found just as satisfying. We only wish they had refilled them. There was also a wonderful sauce with shaved radishes & green onions, a roasted garlic sauce, & celery salt on the side. My partner requested raw garlic, which we promptly received in perfectly sized slices to add to the grill. Great addition! They mix the bibimbap at your table, leaving the chili sauce on the side for you to add as you please. Very yum. We also loved the seating area. Very comfortable. Cozy lighting. Being able to easily scoot your chair seat in while still having all that wonderful lowered feet space was very satisfying. We got seats at the bar while we waited for our table, which took about 45 minutes without a reservation on a Sat night. Not bad. I tried the iced Serenity tea, which I highly recommend. They brew the full leaf tea in front of you before pouring it over ice, & it’s so flavorful you don’t need any added sugar. Held onto that during our meal, since the peppermint in the tea helped to balance all the vinegar, chili, & garlic in our meal. The bottle of cucumber soju came with large fresh slices of cucumber right in the bottle, which was also a nice cool balance for all the heat. Highly recommend, especially for a special occasion. We celebrated my partner’s birthday, & between the 2 of us, all that came to about $ 65 per person. Not bad!

I made reservations a week before to ensure a table on a Saturday night. They contacted me the day of via text to make sure my party and I were still coming, which is nice. The hostess/bar area looks nice. They wouldn’t sit my party until my entire party was present. However, when we were still waiting on two people, they said our table was ready and we could be seated. I asked for a BBQ table and I think most of them are towards the back of the restaurant. The seating is AWKWARD. I’m not sure if it’s just this restaurant or if it’s a cultural thing, but you literally have to drop down into a hole in order to sit down. I felt like I was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle jumping into a sewer. God forbid you accidentally drop something underneath the table… You can say goodbye to whatever you dropped. Since it was 9 people at our table, it was a tight squeeze. The menu seemed extensive to me. I don’t eat Korean BBQ often so everything just seemed overwhelming to me. We decided to order individual dishes such as the hot stone bibimbops and just order some appetizers and a bunch of BBQ meats that we can all share. The waiters literally stand over you and cook the meat for you which was kind of invasive and annoying… But I guess it’s supposed to be convenient for us? The food was just ok and I was not impressed. The meat platters are pricey and not worth all the money. I felt bad for picking this place and having all my friends pay that much for my birthday.

Awesome Korean bbq place. Décor is not your typical Korean bbq joint so it’s pretty refreshing to be in a new environment while cooking some good old galbi. Here are some things you should keep an eye out for: — Spicy japchae: loved it… comes with seafood– who doesn’t love some sweet potato vermicelli? It is on the spicy side so beware for those who can’t handle spice(worth it even if you can’t handle it) — Scallops: no taste for what they considered«special sauce»…tastes like plain scallops– don’t get — Galbi: get this(x10000)…i would say 2 orders for 3 people will suffice — Pork belly: get this too! — Forgot the other steak that I ordered but that one was overcooked– don’t get Awesome Korean bbq place. I shall be back. Wish they have some sort of free dessert like the other Korean restaurants.

I had my birthday dinner here and we all had a great time. Originally the reservation was for 14, but shrank to 10, which they accommodated without question. More impressive was how the young women at the front handled this aging hipster dude who was snarky and rude– I would not have kept my cool like that! The galbi was amazing and the side dishes were too. We ordered a lot of food, as well as drinks, soju, sake and beer, and the service was professional but not stuffy. Definitely coming back! Just a random night that I decide to follow a friend’s suggestion to treat myself and the special someone nicely with a wonderful dinner at this place. I thought I was out of my mind willing to pay $$$ extra for few pieces of meat and vegetable. Waiting for a table on a Thursday night is not painful at all if you come around late 8PM. The waiters were quick to get our order but the way we ordered was even quicker. I guess that is why our food came so fast because my guy knew we were hungry. I love how they cover the regular chair into low platform seat. It’s kinda hard to get up and get in thou but fun. Price is well considerable cheaper then what I expected. I would said for 2 bbq special and wine will set you back around $ 100+ ish? Other place will be around $ 80ish but hey we are here to enjoy. The service is wonderful. We get everything we wanted and quick. Food is really good and surprisingly generous portion for a Korean place. Also the cut are so nice. I can see why they charge more. Well go big or go home right? Meat are definitely prime cut but just next time I would order the marinated meat.

If you like overpaying for food, sitting on the floor and essentially watching a waiter cook your food in front of you, this is the place! I can’t say the food wasn’t legit Korean. It seemed that all of the small plates had legit Korean food, but I knew I wasn’t going to like it when they offered practically 6 oz of TOBEGRILLED strips of Skirt Steak for $ 32! I’m just not in love with the concept of grilling at the table and especially being charged nearly $ 80/pound of skirt steak. I’d much rather check out some hole in the wall Korean joint next time I’m in town.

4.11: Hip Korean BBQ experience when you have a couple extra $ to spend(read: when you can reimburse). Had the Prime Deungsim and Maeun Galbi — tasty and much more tender than what I’m used to for Korean BBQ. The Maeun is not spicy at all. They were very generous with the sides — we kept asking for more, and they never denied our desire. Vibe is also pretty cool: modern, hip, Korean with a bunch of wine bottles everywhere. Main drawback is price, spending $ 75 – 100 per person for full meal with starter, BBQ, and — of course — sake.

Lunch specials are great! I only get the galbi one because that one is the best for my taste. Others were just okay. Service is good too except for one man who never smiles whenever he gets my order. Except for that, the portion is generous, the side dishes are not great compared to other Ktown restaurant, and the interior is nice and clean. Will recommend to those who want Kbbq but not the expensive portions at night. The price is around 15 dollars if I remember correctly(for the lunch specials only) so the price is also compared to what you are getting in my opinion!

Went back for the Galbi lunch special with stew. This time I got the Kimchi stew with pork and veggies instead. The soup was pretty good a large piece of pork right in there. The stew was a bit less rich than other places but the spices were on point. It was virtually entirely kimchi though, no real other veggies. Galbi was excellent with some great flavor. I can see why so many people get it here. The dipping sauce with it was delicious. Perfect amount of fat and I got it in maybe 7⁄8 minutes after(which is a good thing for your NYC lunch crowd.) Waitress was pleasant as last time. Same banchan as last time which is fine as they are were pretty good last time as well. Not an amazing selection but better than some of the places in KTown. As noted before, it’s a bit pricey for lunch(though nothing super unreasonable compared to any of the good bbq places.) You can get said galbi alone(well more with miso soup oddly) for 12.99 which isn’t bad either. 4.3

This was actually our 2nd visit, with a party of 7. Appetizers not quite as good, we had shrimp dumplings, fried dumplings and shumai, and you really have to dip it in sauce — skip it and just wait for barbecue. The Best Galbi I’ve ever had! Better than Dong Bang Grill in Fort Lee. The Rib Eye was equally as good, top quality, melt in your mouth beef, just like the short rib. They really should’ve served this first as the Galbi had more flavor. Banchan selection not quite extensive as in other places and they did not have the soy paste to dip the lettuce-wrapped meat. Seating is the old fashioned tatami style, but in this case it’s not on a traditional sunken floor. Quite pricey, esp if you are having wine, but for an all-out pigfest, definitely worth it.

Aside from the very good food they serve, I really didn’t want to give more than two stars because as I was sitting there waiting for the table service that never came, I was actually typing up a review of frustration and almost wanted to leave the restaurant before they even offered me a drink. Again, it’s company year-end’s dinner and we sat down at two 6-person tables besides each other, the interior is very modern yet with those tatami beds where your legs go under the table instead of kneeing if you know what I mean. We ordered a couple of soju, sweet soju and beer, for around 15 mins we asked 3 servers about hot tea or iced water, or any service, all of them shook their head with a blank on their face telling us that someone would be on their way. But who was on their way? Why not you? The restaurant was not even busy, and they were all standing there with a blank stare. I started writing how terribly I was treated considering it’s almost New Year’s and it looks like a more upscale Korean BBQ place, I was expecting very attentive service. About 15 mins later someone actually brought us side dishes and some drinks, they started the fire soon after. The Bek Soju was very good, we had ribeye, prime rib, steaks, bulgogi, tuna, scallops, prawn shrimps, mussels and mushrooms, everything was delicious, even the side dishes were very tasty. Our server finally entertained us a little bit by interacting with our table, but it was still a frustrating meal from the beginning.

Whatever number of Unilocal/Zagat suggestions hanging on the wall really helped explain how decent this place was and we were able to secure a table the minute we stepped inside. However as we had already finished our dinner and just came here for a drink, I haven’t yet been able to appreciate this place from a full angle — the wine and edamame were decent at least. For the last star, I’m looking forward to adding it back once I tried out their dishes.

There are a ton of great Korean spots in NYC and Don’s Bogam is up there with them. We started with the Korean pancake — it had great flavor and was not too oily. We then split two entrees — one was the chicken Bibimbap. The Bibimbap had really good flavor and the chicken was juicy. The egg came over hard, which was a change from what we were used to(I think I prefer over easy). We did the skirt steak as the other entrée. This was definitely one of the highest quality pieces of meat I have had at a Korean restaurant. The only negative was that we asked for it medium rare and it came pretty rare. Not a big deal as we threw it back on the BBQ for a few minutes and it tasted great. If you are looking for some great Korean food in a friendly environment in Korea town Don’s Bogam is a good option.

Don Bogam is definitely the spot to go if you’re looking for a little something nicer than your typical K-Town joint. Not only is Don Bogam in K-town, they serve banchan, & they take reservations. If you’re headed to the grill, go to the bathroom before you sit down since it’s a tight squeeze once you’re at the table. The waiter will tell you and so will I, the best meats you want to get are bulgogi and kalbi, nothing else tastes as good! If you’ve never been to Korean, my only piece of advise is order less than you or the waiter thinks you need. You will be thankful and there may be room left for desert afterwards.

I have been to this restaurant a few times and I think it’s finally time to share my thoughts. K town is a hit or a miss for me when it comes to Korean BBQ and just Korean food in general but this place got it down. The marinade is not too sweet and the quality of the meat is always very tender. Melts in your mouth! The décor is very modern and classy. Empty wine bottles are placed everywhere in an elegant way. The seating area where they grill the meat is very different because it is built into an elevated floor. I personally like it because it adds a traditional Korean feel to it. Service is top-notch. This is the kind of place you don’t have to ask for anything. It just appears in front of you when you think you’ll need it. For example, I usually ask for extra kimchi or just random side dishes here and there but a new little tray of kimchi was placed in front of me before I even noticed I was out of it. That is great service! I do want to mention that you should expect to spend at least a hundred dollars if you order Kalbi BBQ for two. Yes, this place is pricey. I would recommend this place for dates and for groups of 4 or less.

Read many good reviews about this place and decided to go even though it was on the higher priced than most. We had reservations at 6 pm. We walked down the street and passed by another Korean restaurant(will keep anonymous for the purpose of the review) and this place was packed with a line out the door. They had a wait list of of over 2 hours. This made me think if our first choice was the right. There were lots of young people and the place seemed hip. We would have gone if the wait wasn’t 2 hours so we proceeded to our place of reservation. On arrival, no lines. The place looked empty from the outside. We walked into the wait area and it still looked empty but then we were taken to the back area where there were more rooms and tables filled with customers. It was more of an older, well refined crowd unlike the other place. Boy are we thankful we chose this place. 2 – 3 male servers took very good care of us. We were educated on the menu in terms of the choices. We ordered 4 meat dishes to include marinated pork and beef dishes. A full array of side dishes that Korean restaurants always provide with no limits. The portions are small but sufficient. The meat on the other hand is to DIE for. It was tender and succulent. It melted in your mouth. The servers cook the meat at your request and we decided on medium rare. Cooked perfectly. The staff is very attentive and accommodating. Additionally, their vent system works well so that you don’t smell like Korean BBQ when you leave. Bottom line is that although it’s a little pricier, you get what you pay for. Truly. We left feeling very satisfied and wanting to return.

The Lowdown: Not the best Korean BBQ in Koreatown but satisfactory. Other Places that Do It Better: Wonjo My family is Asian and so my parents don’t cook too often so they prefer to go out for holidays, so for this Thanksgiving(Nov. 2015), we went to Don Bogam. The food was good and the portions are sufficient, but it’s not as good as some other Korean BBQ places in Ktown. If you do end up here, I suggest getting: — Marinated Prime Rib — Bulgogi Bibimbap

Great atmosphere in the heart of K-town. The food was delicious– we ordered the beef platter for 2, which comes with rib eye, marinated short ribs, and brisket. The meat was tender and cooked perfectly to a med-rare temp. We also ordered Galbitang for a noodle component. The noodles were al dente and not mushy(which I hate in noodles) and there were plenty to go around. These were cold noodles, which I did appreciated in light of the heat from the BBQ component. My one main complaint for Don Bogam BBQ is their lack of Banchan– which is the main reason why I go for Korean BBQ. They really only offered kimchi, marinated tofu skin and silkened tofu. These were all great, however I was missing something like japchae, which would really round out the meal. If Don Bogam could raise their Banchan game, then I think that they would be an unstoppable Korean BBQ joint. However, until then, they get 4 stars!

$ 12.95 lunch special for a regular sized portion of kalbi, miso soup and a side order of rice, now that’s a steal! It’s normally $ 20 in a queens krn spot but this is in the heart of midtown! The kalbi is moist and filled with a garlicy sweet marinade. Appetizers were fresh as well, you can tell they weren’t sitting there for hours. The restaurant itself is super fancy and modern, only hard part was wearing a dress and trying to get into the«japanese style seating» which is essentially sitting in a wooden hole. But still a great experience, would return in a heartbeat. Nice date spot without breaking the bank!

I have been following this restaurant on Unilocal for awhile. Things to note: 1. Fortunately I didn’t wear short skirts on the day when I visited. I had no idea you have to awkwardly stand up and sit down to position yourself into its table setup. So avoid skirts if possible 2. Service was great. They didn’t serve my table water until all of the side dishes were served and I had to ask for water since the restaurant was relatively empty and it was difficult to spot the server. Otherwise, it was friendly and welcoming 3. Food was good. But for the prices that they charge for, the quality did not appear to be as top notch as some nearby/neighboring BBQ joints. I tried a) glass noodles — oily but cooked perfectly b) Prime Whole Rib Eye Steak. It was good, but not super juicy($ 39.95) c) Pork Belly marinated in Cabernet Sauvignon($ 27.95). You can never really go wrong with pork belly! 4. They kept bringing out more side dishes(without requesting) and that made me so happy! No limit on side dishes. Most of the time, I have to ask for refills at other restaurants 5. I went on a weekend late lunch and this place was not full at all. Food was served and cooked quickly. The servers came and helped my table with the cooking. I liked the ventilation system here. This place is especially great for large parties of 5 people or more

My friends and I had a reservation, but we still ended up waiting at least half an hour. Not sure if it was just a fluke with us, or a common occurrence for them. Despite the unsatisfactory start, the rest of the dinner went well. We ordered a few servings of the samgyeopsal(pork) and chadolbogi(beef) to share. I preferred the marinade of the pork over the beef. The side dishes were typical ones you find in a korean restaurant. Nothing fancy. We also shared the traditional kimchi jigae. It tasted as if it was cooking for a long time. Deep flavors and delicious. I recommend it. The servers were efficient and great. Despite handling several tables simultaneously, it felt as if they were always available and paying attention. The service was quick – good job. The setup of the restaurant is a bit unfortunate for them, because every time they had to cater to us, they had to get up onto the platform and bend down to help us. The restaurant might be on the pricey side, but it was worth going to at least once. I enjoyed my dinner here, and would recommend it.

Location: close to Korean town, Don’s bogam BBQ seems to be a lil bit off the center. However, that doesn’t bother me to take 20 mins to look for it. Well, it’s not bad. Instead of close to Broadway Korea town are, this place is on east side so you probably need to cross one more avenue. Food: lunch special? Not today but FYI they do have lunch special if you are not craving for Korean BBQ. But I am my friend choose BBQ platter instead. We had marinated beef platter, which consists of marinated short rib in both spicy sauce as well as regular sauce. In addition, the platter includes marinated sirloin and some mushrooms. The short ribs are fantastically fresh and juice compared to other BBQ places I have visited in NYC. I highly suggested this platter for anyone. By the way, we tried seafood pajeon. It’s more thick and the shrimp made the flavor taste even better. I am so happy with there food quality. Service: you may find their seating rare. But it’s the Korean way to eat food, I found it interesting. Service is good, BBQ is helped by waitresses. Overall: I would say it’s a 4.5 place but price is bit higher compared to other Ktown places. Anyway, really worth to pay a visit here.

Don’s Bogam was my first taste of Korean BBQ. The restaurant is located along 32nd street, amid the hustle and bustle of koreatown and surrounded by a number of other Korean BBQ places and karaōke bars. The restaurant seemed to be fancier than most of the other places offering a similar fare. It was nicely decorated and modern looking. It’s a fairly large restaurant with both normal dining tables and the Korean BBQ tables(with differing sizes for small or large groups available). The staff was prompt and friendly throughout the time we were there. I was dining with two Korean speakers so they did the bulk of ordering in Korean but the servers all had good English as well. We enjoyed the cook your own bbq(pork belly and marinated beef platter for 2). All was exceptionally well done and delicious, cooked before us at the table! The short ribs were the star and I’d be certain to get those if I came back! All of the BBQ entrees come with a number of side dishes(cold and hot) that you can mix and match with your meat. The other standout was the Pajeon, a Korean pancake… so so delicious and unique! We also tried the stew which was on the spicier side but still good. Don’s Bogam also offered an enormous drink menus, with both traditional American offerings(wine, beer, liquor), and Korean drinks too so there’s really something for everyone. I tried the Grapefruit Soju and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys fruity drinks(like me!). They accept reservations via open table so it’d be best to make one if you’re coming with a large group or on a weekend. Worth a visit once, if you’ve never had korean bbq before. It’s on the more expensive side so plan accordingly. To save some money, you don’t necessarily need to order a bbq entrée for each person(we ordered bbq for 3 people, and with the sides and the pancake and stew, had more than enough food for the 5 of us).

Great food and I had a great time here with friends. My bf organized a party of ~13 people and they only seat tables as large as 8 so we decided to split up. The table seating is really cool and you actually need to climb into the hole to sit. makes more sense when you see it. Price-wise, this place is pretty pricey and I’m not a meat expert so I couldn’t really tell. However, they cook the meat for you and they cooked our meat really well! For a party of 7, we got three platters of meat, a seafood pancake, and two kimchi jigaes. Without the soup, we honestly wouldn’t have been full so definitely consider this because, again, the meat gets pricey. Seafood pancake is also really good and has lots of little bits of seafood so I recommend this. I honestly don’t remember every piece of meat we got but the grill was always cleared within a minute of it being done(yumm). We also got soju because what party at kbbq exists without some soju hahaha Definitely recommend if you’re willing to pay!

I’d been wanting to try Don’s Bogam for quite some time, so when a friend and I decided to do dinner, this was the first place I suggested. There was about a 10 minute wait for a table with a grill on a Tuesday night. Ambiance — I normally wouldn’t describe a Korean BBQ restaurant’s atmosphere as sexy, but that’s how I’d describe it here. It’s dimly lit with has a romantic flair. You have to climb into your seats, so that’s… different lol. As soon as you sit down, they immerse you with all these random free sides, like kimchi, cabbage, pickles, lettuce, etc. We were in a YOLO mood so we splurged when it came to ordering. Steamed shrimp dumplings — I’ve had better for less but these shumai were solid. Marinated Beef Platter(For Two) — WOWZA. Delicious chunks of quality beef, and so much of it. They grill it all for you on your table. It’s a pricey dish, but we agreed it was worth the cost. Genshu Junmai Sake — sweet-tasting but aftertaste wasn’t my favorite.
