DVF

I seldom leave feedback on Unilocal but whenever there is a horrific service, I do.
I bought a $ 385.89 (including tax) dress by the end of August, 2015 and it was shipped on Labor day weekend via UPS. However, when I got home, someone signed the package, opened the box, and left the box in the trash in the basement. I contacted the Superintendent in the building immediately and he said he did not sign the package.
on 9÷8÷2015, I called
to report the loss and the customer service said the would open an investigation with UPS and keep me posted. However, from 9÷8÷2015 until today (⁹⁄₂₈), I have never received any calls and the only email I received was to ask me to check my building to find the package on 9÷9÷2015. I have called at least 6 – 7 times to understand where the investigation was and how I could help to expedite the process as I would travel soon. On my 4^th time call on 9/​23, I was told that the order would be replaced on the same day but again, as expected, I did not receive any emails or calls. I called 2 days later and was told that their manager decided not to replace my order as I should be responsible for the package. They said «The name and the address on the package are yours and we are not responsible for orders that are lost in your building or stolen. You need to contact UPS». I was shocked and didn’t understand how the investigation was made. I wanted to talk to the manager. They said the manager was out and she would call me Monday morning.
But to get the issue fixed, I still called UPS customer service to ask them for the refund. UPS told me that they have sent a form to DVF for the claim and they can not tell me the result of the investigation as I am not their customer, DVF is.
on Monday, I waited until 1030am, no phone calls or emails. I called DVF and they told me that the manager was out. I told them what UPS told me and urged them to have the manager to call me. In the afternoon, their manager emailed me like this:
First, I apologize that you did not receive your most recent
order.
Second, I understand we shipped your order# xxxxx to the approved address on file. A UPS claim was filed and an investigation launched on your behalf, however, the claim was denied based on the information that was provided. Unfortunately, since the order was sent to the approved address you provided and your package was signed for by your Superintendent we are unable to ship a replacement for this order. As a result, we are not responsible for orders that are lost in your building or stolen. I recommend that you speak to your Management company about the issue.
I again called UPS. UPS said the investigation reopened on ⁹⁄₂₄ was still ongoing and again, DVF paid them. Hence, DVF is their customer and the investigation result would go to DVF. UPS can not share any result with me. I don’t know how the manager got the conclusion that the claim was denied and the investigation was «ON MY BEHALF». I told her «if you are confused with the situation or responsibility, I am happy to talk to your manager who may be clear with what is going on here or we can have a call with UPS together to help you understand the responsibility.»
Luckily, when I first found the package signed not by the super, I emailed the management of the building and they compared the signature to the super’s several previous signatures. They emailed me with a confirmation that the one on the DVF order is not from Super. The ironic part is neither DVF nor UPS contacted me for any information and DVF or the manager just thought that I would give up asking for refund by fooling me with“your super’s signature”. I included the email from the management in my response to the manager.
With more evidence or realizing that I am giving up, she replied me saying «Much of the information you outlined below, I was not aware of. I would really like to speak to avoid any further confusion.» My question now is why you made a decision confidently without enough information? Why didn’t you reach to your customer to ask?
The issue has not been solved yet as of today, 9÷28÷2015. Another oder I made with
was refund to me 2 weeks ago. The package arrived on the same day when the DVF package did and was delivered by UPS too. I am wondering why theoutnet have the ability to close the investigation. I think the manager of DVF might be contacting the wrong carrier, USPS. I wouldn’t surprise if she does so.
The dress is a gift which was picked by the gift receiver and even if they won’t replace it, I will need to buy another one. But I guess that will be the last transaction I have with

Today I showed up to the DVF casting and it was the most horrific experience EVER. Where should I start 1. Not organized AT ALL so there were ALOT of line skipping. I showed up at 11:30 and NEVER got a chance to be interviewed. Instead producers were picking out girls who weren’t dressed properly! 2. I didn’t mind waiting outside for that long because I knew it would be a good amount of people but after we were moved inside DVF studio girls who wanted to used the bathroom were told that their wasn’t ANY bathrooms in the building. When me and 3 other girls who I met on line were JUST in the bathroom. Were all grown adults NO NEED to lie just say we can’t used the bathroom. AND the last complaint the email said to bring materials or a profilo that reflect us it said NOTHING about a resume which MOST girls did not bring. Anyways this experience at DVF left a brand taste in my mouth and I will NEVER purchase anything from DVF and I will NOT be watching house of DVF season 2.

I was feeling rather gross like a wet rat on a rainy Saturday morning. So I trucked over to DVF in the meat packing district with the only intention to find a dress that made me feel and look like a professional and strong woman. Well, my expectations were met above and beyond. Drew is a fantastic stylist over there; he threw me in some flashy heels, stuck a classy cobalt clutch in my hand and had me try on four different wrap dresses. As I’m not so nimble in figuring out how to tie them correctly, he helped and showed me patiently. I would have bought all of them, but alas that equals rent in NYC. So I stuck with one and will be sure to be back. You can’t go wrong with dvf!

I love, love DVF wrap dresses! Every time I wear a DVF dress, I get compliments. It is so sexy and flattering, yet appropriate for the office with a lightweight t-​shirt underneath. I have bought DVF from

, as well as from the DVF sample sale. I got a discount for signing up on

The STORE is great! I have bought dresses, shoes, and bikinis. Amazing selection. Much better than going to a department store where I find that sizes and styles are limited. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
The issue is the DVF website is terrible. It’s not easy to process returns, there are a lot of limitations around what they can and cannot do, and they are not fully equipped to handle sales in this manner. Stick to the stores or experienced websites like

I adore DVF for work clothes. Even on no sleep you can throw on one of her wrap dresses and look instantly polished and professional. I also love basically any style of dress she makes. I recently got the cutest color block dress here in shades of blue that looks amazing and can take you to from meet the parentals to work. I also love that all my favorite stores are right nearby because you know you need the highest heels to go with your new dress.

I’m a longtime fan of DVF & own several DVF dresses. None of which were bought here & were instead bought @dept stores, mostly when they had some sort of sale going on.
As much as I love DVF, I’ve always been too chicken to check this store out because: (1) Afraid of the price tags, (2) Afraid I might be brave/​stupid & ignore the price tags & dig a big hole in my wallet, (3) Afraid the salespeople would be snobby knowing I’m not 1 of the elite who can afford to buy stuff here regularly.
So I’ve mostly just gazed at this store from the outside while walking past it either on the High Line or en route to a restaurant or bar in the area.
Thankfully, Gilt City had a great deal ($ 100 for a $ 200 credit). My credit expires at the end of the month, so I finally whipped up enough courage to get myself in here.
Why did I wait this long??? I love this store! Everything is sorted by color, which I love. Salespeople were so nice, the guy who helped me try stuff on (Drew) was really great & I left the store w/​a smile on my face (when it hit me how much I paid, the smile went away quickly — but worth it b/​c I love DVF! haha). I love the dress I bought & had a great experience for my virginal trip to the DVF store.
NOTE:
ALL the clothes on the racks are in sample sizes (I think 2 was the standard I saw on my visit here). When ready to try stuff on, just point out the item/​s you want to try on to the salesperson & tell them the size you need, they will retrieve it for you from the back & bring you & the item/​s to the dressing room.

This store is so cute!
Spacious and bright, with all the clothes separated by colors — the store is super easy to navigate and look for exactly what you want.
Gilt City had this fabulous deal for DVF so a ton of people were in there perusing the racks. With the help of this lovely sales assistant I picked up a one shouldered blue silk dress — gorrrrgeously made per DVF’s usual style :)
ALSO You get a $ 50 GC for your birthday! Mailed to your apt. which unfortunately I will have moved out of by the time my birthday rolls around :(

Even if you can’t afford to shop here, it is still fun to browse, get an idea of what is current in the fashion world and even hope for a celebrity siting! This woman/​designer knows women better thane we know ourselves, so trust her instinct.

I ask you, what is better than a designer who knows women, has a fantastic eye for fun and bright prints, creates classic better than anyone else and has a bright and airy store with a hearty inventory and multiple floors of dressing rooms?
There is nothing better. That was a trick question.
DVF invented the wrap dress, which, in my opinion is the most figure flattering garment for women out there. Enter DVF and surround yourself in her many patterns and prints in everything from black and white to neon pink. Her clothes are so well made, I never cringe at the $ 300 price tag for a dress I know I will have forever and can wear pretty much year round.
Everything in here is incredibly feminine without being too obvious, if that makes sense? Hopefully it does. She also makes these great wrap tops and three-​quarter sleeved simple dresses that seem to fall in a flattering manner no matter what your size. Also, unlike most couture designers (especially in the Meatpacking District) she carries up to a size 14 in her store.
This is my absolute favorite designer. If I had unlimited funds I would shop here all the time. Alas, I am a regular person, who indulges in her finery every now and again, when possible. Try on one of her creations and you will be hooked.

So forget about the gawg, adorable wrap dresses. It is at this location where Whitney, star of MTV’s pseudo reality show «The Hills» supposedly works. You’ll have to catch your breath when you look at the staircase she walked up to go to her interview… you know, right before she met up with Jay outside the cab. OMG guys!

I love this store. I think it was in the Sex and the City Movie. Popped in here the day before the DVF Fashion Show and who was there but Diane herself! There is a customer guest book, and as I was writing ‘I love you Diane,’ in it I looked up and saw her!
I really like DVF clothes because they are beautiful, wearable, original, and well priced for the quality. Everyone knows about the DVF wrap dress, and I have to say I have a great wrap dress that gets worn around town to rave reviews. The clothes are fashion forward but still timeless. True talent. I wanted everything in the store, but the size of my pocketbook and social calendar won’t accommodate.
As it is the namesakes store, they have a great selection of Diane things. The store is arranged by color and style. I like the way they lay out the clothes. It really makes you want to buy stuff, because things are matched next to complementary items.
I managed to leave with a mere one item. Thankfully. Once I am rich, I will be back for a big shopping spree.

I love DVF. I love how her designs are tasteful enough to be worn at numerous events (see also: avoiding nip slip at cousins’ Bar Mitzvah) yet still look youthful. Although her seminal wrap dresses don’t work for my body, there is enough selection at the flagship store to suit a wide variety of body types. It’s great to go into a store where sizes range beyond ‘sample’. My only complaint about the store itself is the salespeople tend to be extremely naggy. When shopping for a dress, especially in this price range, I would assume that most people would want to think about their decision – alone. The floor help remind me of used car salesmen. The sale section also tends to be pretty scant.

The same dress as in the 70s, once under $ 100, is now $ 400. I like them, but hey…

Diane von Furstenberg has said that she «designs for the woman who loves being a woman.» And this is one of the reasons why I love her clothes so much. The moment I slip on one of her dresses, blouses or jackets, I feel sexy, chic and confident. I get so many compliments whenever I wear one of her designs. They have the most flattering fit, and the patterns always make a bold statement.
I was so excited to go to her amazing shop located in the same building as her studio during my visit. I saw the glowing pink windows my first night out in the Meatpacking and couldn’t wait to go back when it was open the next day.
My fabulous personal tour guide introduced me to Valerie, the assistant manager there, who was so adorable in her vintage DVF wrap dress and matching blue and green Shu lashes. Val helped me with the gorgeous black and navy taffeta oversized jacket that I fell in love with the moment I walked past the mannequin wearing it in the window. (I posted a pic of it here — it is FAB!) I love, love, love, love, LOVE it! It was my first clothing purchase in NY.
I’ve worn it twice in one week as a dress and have gotten endless compliments on it. Diane just knows how to design for a woman who loves being a woman. She is FIERCE!
