Scoop NYC

I would give Scoop ZERO stars if i could. I ordered clothes from them and they were never received. I received only part of the order. I have been emailing them and calling them and NOBODY responds to my emails, returns my voicemails, or even answers the phone which just keeps ringing u til it disconnects. As far as I’m concerned, there is not customer service department. They have some generic outgoing message on their voicemail. I have called the bank and asked them to chargeback the item i have not received. The item was on sale and it’s possible that they ran out of stock right when I ordered it. I don’t know because they never respond to me. WHAT KIND OF BUSINESS IS THIS??? STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!! Terrible customer service all around, even in their stores.

I really, really want to like this boutique but the nasty attitude and less than friendly help makes me shudder.
The two pros to this store are location and selection. They are right by Standard Hotel and Sally Hershberger Downtown as well as a ton of great stores so if you want to while away a Saturday having brunch or getting a blow out and then perusing & shopping, this is the perfect area to do so, and Scoop offers not just fashion but also candles, accessories and shoes. They have a decent selection and their mark up isnt too crazy.
However, the staff is rude and not knowledgeable. I have been in this store multiple times where I was the only person shopping and the staff was sitting around, looking at their phones, chatting or just ignoring me. You practically have to beg for help. I used to put up with it since the store had cute items but I rarely go in anymore for that reason.
My final straw with their service came from earlier this spring, I went in to purchase a pair of thew Nike Rorschach I had my eye on. I am serious about my sneaker collection and was excited to add these to the mix. The staff member was at the register, not paying me a bit of attention. I was sitting on the little settee near the sneakers and asked excuse me could I have a size 8 pls. He didnt even look up at me, so I approached the desk and said «excuse me…» and before I could even get the rest of my words out, he snapped «I heard you the first time.» I was so embarrassed and stunned I sat down and waited for at least another minute before he finished whatever he was doing, then went around to the back to get the sneakers. He practically tossed the box onto the couch and said «you know these are mens sneakers right?» to which I replied «yes but I like the print and plan on buying them regardless.» He never asked how they fit or if they were comfy or anything and rang them up wordlessly.
If you are in Meatpacking and want to pop in to look, go for it. And if you want to buy something fun for a night out or a cute design based outfit, Scoop probably has it. But dont expect good service or a friendly welcome. Honestly, Barney’s Co-​Op and Intermix are better options!

Men’s store has some ok product. Good basic style but nothing unexpected. Prepare to beg for help. You can be the only person in the store with three employees and nobody even can be bothered to look up.

I like this place. I know it gets mixed reviews, but I have been coming to several locations for many years, starting with the store in SoHo.
I have found that they had a good collection of different designers, some newer ones I haven’t seen elsewhere, a good collection of Missoni headbands which are not the easiest to find, and the sales people are generally really pleasant to work with. Many of them do not seemed trained on how to ship merchandise and I have run into some issues with that, but over all I enjoy my shopping experience here.
They have a men’s store that is separate down on Washington towards 14^th. From this store, head north a couple of blocks.
The shoes and jewelry need to be updated a bit in my opinion, but I can consistently find designs here that I like and the prices are not any more than any other retail establishment.

So here’s the scoop: Everything is at least $$$. You won’t find much bargains here unless you catch their warehouse sale, which happens once or twice a year. What I find very mindboggling is that their own «Scoop» labels cost just as much as the well-​known designer labels that they carry. The material is no different. Mostly made in China, which really pisses me off. People shop here just because it’s hip and chic. (and oh yes, it’s MePa District!) But I don’t think I would ever pay anything over $ 100 for a plain white t-​shirt, unless it is infused with some slimming technology that would give me a svelte look. But I don’t recall t-​shirts ever accomplishing that kind of effect. As for the staff who work here, it’s a hit or miss. They can act pretentious if they feel like it. But if they see you eyeing a $ 1,000 bag, they would not hesitate on complimenting you and glorifying how that bag would «go with anything.»

The staff at Meatpacking is HORRIBLE, I literally asked them for help three times and they looked at me and then kept gossiping. Worst customer service I have ever experienced, pales in comparison to the lovely staff in SoHo. They had a wider selection of items at their warehouse sale but no wonder because as a customer, interacting with the staff was a nightmare.
Not. Worth it.

Love the clothes and selection at Scoop but the staff at this location is far from helpful.
I walked into the store on a Saturday afternoon and started browsing. One of the staff members comes up to me and says in a very condescending tone: «Are you looking for something?» making me feel like a lost puppy. I responded that I was just browsing and continued to poke around.
When I selected a new pair of jeans and went to make my purchase, I waited for almost 5 minutes while lost puppy lady and two of her fellow co-​workers gossiped. Then one of them turned to me «Are you ready?» Um, no I just stand by the counter in your store with my credit card in my hand for fun on Saturdays.
Scoop is a great store, but for god’s sake go to the SoHo location for a much better customer experience!

I don’t know what people are saying that the staff is snotty and not helpful.
I have always had a pleasant experience shopping at scoop! The staff is always helpful. I was there the other day and half the place is on sale 40% the marked down price. The items were the highest quality at the lowest price-​every new yorker
loves a bargain! The staff treated me as I i was paying full price, the could not have been nicer. I am so happy with my purchases, you can’t beat scoop with a sale like
this!

Terrible customer service!!! Bought a men’s sports jacket & after 2 wearings it fell apart. Brought it to the tailor they send their customers to & was told the jacket was defective, but SCOOP said it was my bad luck. Aaron, the manager at the Soho store was particularly condescending and arrogant. Buy at Barneys or Bergdorf, Saks. or Bloomies where they stand behind their merchandise.
Bye bye SCOOP!

The clothes are great– and I went during the closet clean-​out sale– but my experience there was definitely tainted by the fact that I felt like I was being closely watched the entire time. I used to work in retail in a similarly upscale boutique, so I get the need to be attentive as a salesperson, but I was checked in on several times as I was shopping and the security guard was practically tailing me. It made me feel very uncomfortable, and to be honest, it felt pretty demeaning. If I’m not in a good mood, I’m not going to buy anything. I’ll leave it at that.

The people who work there are pretentious and I felt a bit like pretty women, but the stuff is gorgeous, the store is large and everything is sorted by color, an OCD shopper’s dream. Expensive, great quality top brands, all in one location. It’s a window shopper’s dream or a great place to treat yo-​self!

Great t shirts! Nice shirts.
Everything else is hit or miss including the staff.

I’m surprised the staff is friendly because they’re kind of snooty and icy.
I like the items there — saw some great designer pieces — but ultimately, I already owned all the clean, classic, minimalist pieces I liked. so there was no point in wanting to buy another duplicate.
I think the clothes are really great, but you’ll get sticker shock if you’re used to F21 or H&M.

This is more for the staff at this location than anything else… friendly friendly friendly! LOVE IT!
I mean its scoop its expensive and uninspiring but the staff here is really fantastic, which is unusual for scoop locations…

I’m not usually caught dead in the Meatpacking District. But my baby boy works here now and I had to show some support. I’m really glad I did for various reasons!
The store is actually quite cute and offers some really awesome fashion. They carry all sorts of clothing and accessories. And some of the items aren’t bad! You can get sale items in the men’s department for as low as $ 19!
The staff were really welcoming to me and the store was very clean. I say give ‘em a whirl!

Now this is a store. On many visits to NYC, Ill slowly waddle my way around meatpacking, depressed that I have to limit purchases to only the truly worthy pieces. And pieces that aren’t STUPID expensive.
Scoop Men’s unfortunately is FULL of worthy pieces and typically lacks that certain j’est no se qua which makes me seal the deal and pull the trigger on the clothing purchases, ie the BARGAIN BIN. Last weekend, on a lark, I checked Scoop out, jumped in just for a sec to see if the’d throw a brother a bone.
DID THEY EVER!
ONE WHOLE WALL — ONE WHOLE MOTHERF-​ING BARGAIN BIN WALL. covered with items 70% off!!! I got two reTAHded nice blazers (Helmut lang and RAF) at what can only be described as a STUPID discount, and a great shirt (D Squared), all for around $ 300. Hallelujah! this may have been the greatest fashion bargain of the century. I will tell stories of my shopping victory to generations of Salcedos. They will gather around and hear how I defeated the recession beasts of 2008 – 2010 through perseverance, a master card, and big big man tits that make my size of blazers the last to sell out.
On top of this, the staff was very helpful and friendly. I left in such a bargain happy tizzy that I forgot my sunglasses and scarf; they immediately called me to tell me of my forgotten items and held them for my return. Join thier list, they’ll email you when they have sales, and you will live well dressed till your dying days.

LOVE this store. It’s my favorite ever, and I’m so glad they added a location in Chicago, where I currently live!
Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Totally.

I was reminded last night of all the places I’ve yet to review from my trip to NYC. What, may you ask, triggered that? ‘The Real Housewives of NYC’ on Bravo. Yes, I admit it. I am a reality TV addict. Especially BravoTV reality shows, even the horrible ones like this one. So, when Jill, the housewife that hates shopping but loves fashion, took her 14 year old daughter to Scoop for back-​to-​school shopping, I got kinda depressed. Not only did she end up spending $ 2,000 on clothes there, but she didn’t end up getting back-​to-​school clothes. She bought an outfit for a Fashion Week party! A 14 year old has experienced so much more than I have. *sigh*
Well, if I could, I’d go on a shopping spree here too. Much like an Intermix or Barney’s CO-​OP store, you can find several designer jeans, Marc, Theory, Tory Burch, Alice & Olivia, DVF, and of course their own branded lines. I’d splurge first at Jeffrey across the street and Catherine Malandrino and Christian Louboutin around the block, where service there is much better. They must have scooped up the better sales associates in NYC and left this Scoop with the pretentious ones.
p. s. My gay husband will be working at the Scoop NYC in the UES starting in April. You’ll want to go shop with him because he is the Best. Stylist. Ever.

I LOVE Scoop
Scoop carries a wide variety of comtemporary designers and i love the fact everything is color cordinated and hung on racks so you can easily browse their clothes.
This is the only place I can find Free City hoodies in New York. I got a yellow hoodie! thank you! If you love clothes and have money to spend, Scoop is for you.

So this is a re-​review of Scoop. In all honesty, their markdowns are wonderful, but their selection is such a mixture. I feel as if their stores are just very… I’m not really entirely sure how to pin point the exact vibe. Its minimalistic and overly organized. Its kinda creepy…
I for some reason like the whole clash of labels that they do. You could be looking a table, with neatly spaced garments folded ever so small. Look at the label, says Missoni, and then directly next to it, will be a $ 60 t-​shirt. I don’t know if thats what they go for, or if its organized a certain way, but, I think its kinda neat…
Its definitely a mixture of both contemporary sportswear and designer. You can find, like I said, Missoni. Then of course you can also find Marc Jacobs Collection, John Varvatos, Neil Barrett, etc. Then the luxury labels like Lucien Pellat-​Finet and Missoni… and then the random contemporary sportswear… Hickey, Rogan, etc. And then the random premium denim labels, Nudies, Earnest Sewn, Acne, etc.
All in all, Its so/​so to me. Sometimes you can find nice things, but sometimes you’re just not that into it. Its a hit or miss for me.
