Came here with a friend for after work drinks and have been here before. Their fish and chips were only OK. but their service is great. Very attentive and friendly bartenders.

Somehow I managed to find the worst burger in NY. The turkey burger is awful. It is the definetly the worst.

I don’t know why this place only has 3 stars!!! The food was so good! All 5 of us loved every meal. The Rueben was the best I ever had. Fresh, thick pieces of corned beef! The cocktails were fantastic also! We come from an area that is known for good food and this place was good food! And very fast service!

Enjoyable atmosphere and nice range of options on the menu. Not a bad place to grab a quick bite then continue on your NYC adventures.

Ate here for dinner and ordered the fish and chips. The portion was a good size. The batter on the fish was texturally nice but bland. I had to add a lot of salt and pepper. The service was quick and friendly. Prices were on the high side but it is NYC!

If the service was as good as the food would’ve given this a 5. The waitress forgot waters had to wait a while for refills, tickets etc. Chicken pot pie was great and flaky amazing French onion soup would give that a 10! Caesar salad is average Must try the apple pie dessert its small though!

We came here to compare the food we got two days before with the competition from Eamonn’s which is down the street from Cock and Bull. If I have not already, I will put pics up… My daughter and I got the same thing in both places: I got the Shepherds pie and she got the Steak sandwich. So this is what went side to side in our mini competition… Eamonn’s pie was small and had a slight sour taste left over after ever bite, weirdly, I was happy at the time I had it because I was hungry(I am guessing the sour taste was the red wine usually used? but it still didn’t taste right) I did notice that there was a lack of any veggies in this pie, something that I like to see and sad it didn’t have it. I Love lamb and mashed potatoes, so I think that is what made it bearable to finish-but I sadly would not go back :( Eamonn’s steak sandwich looked great and was edible, with great caramelized onions and a yummy panini bread– but the steak flavor was not even close to how Cock and Bulls flavors. Although the fries were great, it still did not even get close to how great the steak sandwich was at Cock and BULL. The service at Eamonn’s was great! Our waitress had the cutest accent, but it still can’t hide behind the food. VS. Cock and BULL Shepard’s Pie was sent from heaven! You can actually see the celery, cauliflower and tomato and there was no odd aftertaste. The visual appeal was also a plus. It was served in a cute round white ceramic bowl in which it looks like it was the same one used to bake the pie. The creamy mashed potatoes tasted great. A++ Cock and BULL Steak sandwich actually looked like steak(as should be expected) and tasted amazing! Super juicy and flavors that are out of this world! We will definitely go back just to have this sandwich! The caramelized onions, Roasted Garlic Aioli and Melted Stilton Cheese I think is what the secret was too!(Shhh!)

What a fantastic Irish pub and grill, and all within a block from The Roosevelt Hotel from where I stayed. The service was impeccable, and I was very surprised to know that almost everyone who served us were really, authentically Irish! That was such a treat to hear their Irish accent! It was so cool. To top that off, their service here was just outstanding. Our waitress gave great recommendation, from appetizer to soup to main course and lastly, to our delicious desserts. I’ll let the photos do all the talking because it was simply that good! When you find yourself in Midtown and looking for a fantastic Irish Bar and Grill, I highly recommend you visit Eamonn. They have great service, love the high-back comfy benches, and they even have a second floor for private parties too! I really enjoyed my meal and my experience here. Thank you so much Eamonn’s Bar & Grill for a wonderful time. PS — really enjoyed their live singer near the bar. It was fantastic! Until then, Cheers! ~ :p

Try the Thighhigh cocktail, it is amazing. Regular burgers and sliders are juicy and cooked to perfection. This place is a great hangout joint. The service is great and the staff is super friendly. My go-to pub.

The absolute worst restaurant in Midtown for breakfast. It took 35 minutes to get our food, 20 mins for coffee and when our food came out. Cold!

First time visiting this place. Was very pleased with the friendly service, we even requested seating near an outlet so we could charge our phones and they very happily accommodated us. The food was GREAT! We had the fish and chips and it was everything you would expect to get from an Irish Pub, exceptional! Our son had a steak and it was fabulous. This place was great and we highly recommend it.

THISISTHEWORSTSERVICE I HAVEEVERRECEIVEDAT A BAR. The two men behind the bar were extremely rude to myself and a friend. Examples: — Told us we were over-crowding a woman’s space when we were having a friendly conversation with her(she even told us we were the best part of her day) — Rolled their eyes repeatedly at our simple requests — My friend cracked a drink about«extra vodka» in her drink and the bartender would not give her the time of day after that — The two of them congregated behind the bar 2 – 3 times to giggle, whisper, and send looks our way throughout our experience — FINALLY, after we’d had enough, we asked for the check — received no acknowledgement. When we asked a second time, the bartender yelled«I HEARDYOUTHEFIRSTTIME. I GOTIT» in an extremely snarky tone. When my friend said, «I’m sorry you didn’t look my way so I didn’t realize» he responded by shaking his head and muttering under his breath, «ridiculous…» You may think I’m overreacting here, but we kept thinking back to see if we had said anything that gave off the wrong impression — nothing. But the worst part is: we asked to speak to the manager… and waited close to 20 minutes because he was«on the phone.» The hostess kept attempting to persuade us to head out because«he was going to be awhile.» We insisted we’d wait. He came downstairs and said nothing but I’m sorry — I’ll take care of it. Not impressed again. To be quite honest, I made this Unilocal account specifically to ensure people would turn away from this bar and know the service they will receive. Glad to see other reviews are on the same page, but sad that they were still as busy as they were. 0STARS.

This place has the rudest hostess. She is always a raging bitch(I don’t say this lightly). I know at least 20 people who work near this place that share bad experience after bad experience. Expect crowded cramped standing, terrible pub grub, over priced drinks, and rude staff who don’t care. The reason this will never change is because of its location the staff or management has no incentive to not treat people like crap. Because its midtown and even if they get new people every night it will still be crowded. But I would rather patron the multitude of better places in the area.

Very welcoming atmosphere, great staff, very fair prices. Most importantly, for us, it was kid friendly. Our service staff was(is) Irish which added authenticity to an already excellent Irish Bar. I had the Gaelic Steak with peppercorn sauce — was excellent. Cooked to perfection. I try to avoid fries wherever possible — but these«steak fries» were great and I ate them all. My wife had the Shepherd’s Pie — which looked amazing. The serving was so generous, she couldn’t finish it. We are just visiting, but I’m tempted to go back again even though we only have limited time to check out as many places as we can.

I’m rating Eamonn’s a 2 because they are the only place that makes you pay EXTRA for sharing a dish — $ 9 extra. Their prices are a little high, but hey, its downtown NYC, but COMEON. A friend and I wanted to share a Chicken Sandwich, but she just ended up ordering it and I sat back with my water. Thank god they didn’t charge us $ 9, cause I snatched some fries off her plate. They were good and he said the sandwich was good too — rosemary bread, yum. Otherwise, the ambiance, a day after Christmas, was really nice. Quiet, relaxing, just what we needed after crowdsurfing at Rockefeller Plaza. I still would’ve like to share a meal without being ridiculously charged for it. BOOYOU, Eamonn’s.

If you’re looking for an Irish bar featuring Belgian beers and New York sirloin(and who isn’t?), well then look no further. The strange mix of menu offerings, simply put, works. I ordered a house special Irish Gaelic steak drowned in whiskey sauce — terrific.(Paired with a Stella, of course.) Oddly, it was the homemade steak fries that sealed the deal. The fries here are unique, thick and a satisfying addition to any entrée. And my daughter called her stuffed chicken breast, glazed in Merlot, one of the better main courses she’s enjoyed in a very long time. Impressed!

Pub We were in the area and we needed some libation — as a native New Yorker, I know that any of the pubs form anywhere in the Brit Empire generally rock; so with a quick scan up and down the street, we saw St. Andrew and popped in for a cocktail and to rest my feet. The bartender was a doll and she really was helpful when my girl started inquiring about gluten free items– she called right back to the kitchen and got us the info we needed. Probably one of the better potato skin appetizers I’ve had anywhere. Drinks were well made and the place is nice and clean. Give it a shot if around this area.
