Easy Espanol

When I have more time, I plan to come back and take classes here.

I found Easy Espanol through Coursehorse and was able to get a great deal on a 5 week long advanced beginners course– so I figured why not. I’d previously taken a similar small-​sized Spanish classes with another language company in the city– the materials offered and facilities at Easy Espanol are pretty similar that offered by that other company (my only real metric). Paid $ 10 for some basic course materials, which included about 10 pages worth of exercises and access to their online materials (more exercises and grammar material). Unfortunately, my particular instructor at Easy Espanol paled in comparison to my instructor at the other company. My instructor was impatient, aloof and frankly did not seem to have much experience teaching. Maybe I was spoiled with my other Spanish learning experience– but learning a language should be a fun, engaging experience. Not one that one dreads or finds annoying. I’ve heard wonderful things about some of Easy Espanol’s other instructors– hopefully they’ll make a more concerted effort to hire more of the good instructors.

Suggest speaking with Maria Jose, the administrator before signing up as she is extremely helpful and can describe the program in a knowledgeable way. I took a several series of classes on-​line. In the beginning things went well. Unfortunately, my «coach”/“teacher» Patrica Calderon lost interest and did not provide the drills or instruction a coach or teacher should have provided and so I stopped the classes. Do not take classes with Ms. Calderon. Maria Jose was able to locate only one other instructor for me, but as our schedules did not mesh I was unable to continue.

. I only went to one session and it wasn’t quite what I was hoping for. We listened to a very long recording and then read the transcript out loud.
I am a bit critical because I work in foreign language training and I know that this is probably the least effective way to teach a language. I was hoping for more conversation, pronunciation and error correction. Granted, it was only one lesson, so I may go back and give it another shot.

Easy espanol is convenient and one of the easiest and most cost effective ways to learn Spanish. I’ve been taking classes with easy espanol for the past 2 years. It’s amazing how much I’ve learned and how easily I can now communicate in spanish.
