Loved this place. Was one of my favorite day drinking spots in the city. RIP.

Here is a sad fact, Epsteins was one of the best bottomless brunches in the city, and its closed! No word on whether they are going to reopen but as it stands its shut down. Let the tears fall!

My friend and I came for Saturday brunch — $ 20 for a main dish + unlimited drinks(mimosa, Bloody Mary, screwdriver) for 2 hours! The breakfast burrito was pretty damn amazing. The hangover burger was average, but definitely lived up to its name. They were undoubtedly understaffed, which made for a long-ish wait between drinks, coffee and the food, but well worth it. Also our waitress was super cool and made up for it by keeping us WELL stocked with bloody Mary’s. Sit outside if you can– the sound of reggae blasting and Mack trucks in the background is WAY better than all the drunk people at the bar.

I was here last night. Initially I wanted to go to The Meatball Shop but I was standing there and the host was almost avoiding me. Took him a while to finally ask me how many people and the wait time. I didn’t like how they treated us. So I decide to try epstein. I just wanted to grab something fast because it was late and I was hungry. The service here was great. The server was kind and the food was great. I didn’t expect this quality for the price. Overall I am sure I will go again.

–The brunch special is now $ 20– This, however, is still a very good brunch deal given the ample entrée sizes and the copious amount of liquor dispensed. I’ve been to Epstein’s for brunch on a few occasions. The food here is solid. I’m a big fan of the hangover burger and the home fries. They use an excellent vinaigrette on their salads, too. During the week they have a number of specials, though I’m hearing there’s a new manager and some of the prices have gone up. Sad. Still, Epstein’s is a great start in the LES if you want to spend the day roaming the streets tipsy. The music usually varies between hip hop/top 40/hits of the past of various genres. The clientele is diverse but typically 20-something and(usually) not the annoying variety.

Planned a nice Saturday brunch with my sister and a few girl friends. After doing some research I found this place. Brunch is now $ 20, unlimited mimosas, screwdrivers, or bloody marys with an entrée. My friend had the breakfast burrito and she said it was one of the best she’s ever had. I had the French toast which was decent. You can substitute home fries for regular fries, DOIT! The fries are the bomb dot com. My two other friends had the burgers, they enjoyed them. Despite it being busy, our glasses were almost never empty throughout our time. You have two hours from when you sit at your table. Brunch is from 11 — 2, they don’t take reservations so be prepared to wait, especially with a large group. I’ll be back Epstein’s Bar! Those screwdrivers had me feeling so nice I walked to St. Marks Place and got a piercing.

French toast and home fries are amazing, and so is the $ 20 unlimited brunch special. Pick from about 6 food items and 6 different unlimited drinks for only $ 20 + tax. Super cool environment– outdoor seating on a nice day makes for a great time at Epstein’s! The unlimited mimosas are wonderful and so is the service. No complaints at all here, I will definitely return :)

Came to Epstein’s for the first time with a group of friends. We had all never been here before and were looking to try a new dive bar spot downtown. When we checked in, we each automatically unlocked a free beer, which is great! The bartender was very friendly and let us choose from any of the beers on top for our free beer. We were able to grab a few spots at the bar around 12:30/1am on a Saturday, but that was pure luck as the bar was packed! After we finished the free beers, we asked the bartender to make whatever he thought were the best cocktails we could get. Unfortunately, these drinks were poorly made well-drinks that were not worth the money. We had a fun time at Epstein’s and appreciated the free drinks but it won’t be a place I immediately recommend in the future.

Went for the Kentucky Derby this past weekend. The space is great for the Spring, Summer, and Fall with the indoor/outdoor seating availability, and definitely a fun atmosphere. But, the mint juleps were some of the worst I’ve ever had, even if they were selling for only $ 5. I get what you’re tryna do, the whole Derby thing, who wouldn’t want a delicious, refreshing mint julep for only $ 5? I don’t know. But, I would pass on these. Drinks were definitely cheap though(Sam Adams Summer $ 4) with good specials for the day. Super crowded, but that’s what we came for right? I simply will never understand why places in NYC insist on being cash only. Just let me Venmo you, bro.

Dive bar with decent music when they are not switching songs before they end. Service was actually really good and the drinks were cheap. CASHONLY. –_– 2.5 stars

Good to stumble into this place for the second time because the first time I went I was a little drunk don’t remember it being anything out of the ordinary… This second time, I found the crowd to be mixed and we were with a party of 8 – 9 and thankfully were seated. We ordered food and we all enjoyed our meals. I had the Epsteins Wrap with fries, sooo good! The Fries is what we all really loved. My friend had the Kale Wrap and loved it I’ll go back for the fries :)

Love the help that works at Epstein’s and the food and drinks great! Look, if I want the best hamburger I’ll take a second mortgage but these are truly a bargain. The people that frequent are also another reason for my accolades!

I do not work during the summer, so I made a goal for myself. Try a different boozy brunch every weekend! After the delicious bottomless drinks here, and the guaranteed good time, well… I sort of decided to take a break from boozy brunch hunts for a while during that evening’s «repercussions» that come along with downing bottomless mimosas… :D In all seriousness, this place is incredible! Two friends and I each paid $ 15.95 for bottomless drinks and delicious entrees! I like that the entrees were a mix of lunch and breakfast foods. After about an hour, the place was PACKED with fun people and loud music made for a great time. All of the staff was courteous, especially our waitress. Despite how busy it was, she took very good care of us and was on top of whatever we asked for. I’m deducting one star because the mimosas were served in giant Stella Artois glasses, which is good and bad. It was good, because you definitely get a lot of booze and the expected buzz going, great bang for your buck. But, I think it was not the best idea to allow three full chalices to be served before bringing the food out. Presumably, brunch is most people’s first meal of the day. I think that by allowing people to drink so heavily and quickly way before the food comes out, is how you get people super, belligerently drunk, and not in a good way. Of course, this ultimately lies within the choice of the patron. But the huge glasses, and rapid refills do, I feel, attribute to this issue. Even if you took three sips, your glass was refilled repeatedly. Just use good judgement, realize that drinks are strong! Would come back here without a doubt! If you are looking for the most bang for your buck, have no hesitations about coming here! Will definitely be back! LOVED it here!

Who can really complain about $ 15.95 brunch with bottomless drinks? Opens from 11am to 2pm for brunch. Offers two kinds of burgers, pancakes and egg with bacon platter. The Hangover Burger was amazing which comes with a side of fries. The pancakes come in flavors ranging from strawberry, banana, blueberry and chocolate chips. Thick pancake very delicious. Drinks are good as well, they offer unlimited mimosa, bloody marry or screwdriver. If you don’t want drinks you can also have unlimited coffee or juice as well. Overall great for brunch although the spot is small and not very well maintained but the price is justified.

$ 16, unlimited mimosa/bloody mary/screw driver with no set time limit. Love! They only had 5 or 6 items on the menu(eggs, burger, burrito). We opted for the breakfast burrito. The tortilla is fried, but it actually tasted really good. Overall we really enjoyed the burrito and the drinks were made perfectly. Our waitress was amazing — on point with refills and friendly. The few times we had to ask for refills, she made sure to get them right away. It’s a very small restaurant. I would say it wouldn’t be good for big parties but I saw a group of 6 – 8 people push together a few round high tops, and they made it work. It’s a low key brunch spot and for $ 16, totally worth going! Definitely on my list to come again with the husband.

OOOOF. PARTY. It’s funny, because about an hour prior to going to Epstein’s, a fellow Unilocaler had told me how they have an epic and cheap boozy brunch until 2 p.m. on the weekends. After attending a brunch event down the street at Stanton Social, a handful of us ended up here to get a drink. Crowded as all hell, but the vibe was incredible as I stood there, swaying back and forth to some old 80s pop with a pint of Angry Orchard sloshing back and forth in my NY Jets Budweiser glass. Though claustrophobia was starting to set in about 30 minutes in, I had a pretty good time partaking in some completely unexpected weekend day drinking. I’m definitely curious about trying their brunch sometime, as some plates looked pretty appetizing, but I’m not sure I’d journey down from my little nook in Inwood just to have it. I’d have to already be in the neighborhood with friends saying, «Hey…I’m hungry! Let’s go to Epstein’s!»

I went to Epstein’s Bar with a few friends for a late Saturday morning brunch. Only 15 bucks for an entrée and unlimited coffee, bloody marys, mimosas and screwdrivers –awesome. It was insanely busy and a bunch of people waited around an hour for seats, but they got to start drinking at the bar so that’s cool for them, I guess. We got lucky and were seated immediately. Our waitress was super friendly in a ditzy sort of way and stopped by to give us refills often enough. Naturally, since it was so busy, the wait serves was mediocre at best. Everyone worked seemed chill and friendly, though. The food was decent. I had the hangover burger with a fried egg and bacon. We sat there for around an hour and a half before our waitress told us she needed the table. Understandable, I guess, but still a bit lame. We got to stay at the bar, though, so yay. It’s a cute enough place. Really decorated for Halloween when we went. Outdoor seating available and lots of specials everyday apart from the cheap brunch.

Great atmosphere corner bar with decent and well priced food. Try the happy hours for example on Tuesdays certain foods and drinks 2 for 1. Can’t get any cheaper than that. They have their own Epstein’s Ale which is good beer for the price. Would gladly recommend to everyone! On game days and on weekends can get pretty loud and crowdy so be sure to be there early.

Id give this place more stars if they knew how to make drinks. Granted its a dive, granted I ordered rum punch(much more complicated than I thought) and mojito’s(mint must’ve been out of season) never the less bartenders should be prepared to make such drinks. or at the very least concoct something equivalent. I was served a shitty cocktail that I would have been skeptical to drink freshman year in college. Dives dont always have to equate to bad drinks. Despite these set-backs I enjoyed my time there and would return for a quick drink or two.

Have you ever read one of your first reviews and thought to yourself? «Dear god who wrote this terrible review?» Well that’s how I feel about my first review of Epstein’s. I can’t do that to one of my all time favorite bars in Manhattan. First off this place always has deals. From an awesome free beer check-in, to their amazing weekly deals, to the fantastically priced brunch, to the good deals the drug dealers will give you in the bathroom. I kid… No one gives you good deals on drugs anymore. No seriously I kid, drugs are bad. The music is great in here. It’s usually old school hip hop, 90’s alternative rock or 80’s. It’s like there is a Pandora station named Mitch. Yes I know, no one uses Pandora anymore. My joke is outdated? Well so is the music, and I love that music. Epstein’s has become a great place which I go to either start or end my night and if it’s a good night there, it could be both. They have a annual Christmas party the first Saturday of December. $ 50 dollar open bar, great deal. The brunch here is hard to beat. Cheap price for a not so cheap amount of drinks and some good food. Get there early, Epstein’s isn’t the largest place. Conveniently located near the border of the LES and East Village, Epstein’s a great spot to meet up at with friends. Best night is Thursday, half off all appetizers and $ 3 dollar beers. So no matter what time it is, it’s always a good time for Epstein’s. Unless they’re closed. You’ll just be sitting outside and people might throw change at you. Which I guess isn’t the worst but still, it’s not a good look.
