I love the clothes at express! The fit is perfect as sized and their colors are awesome! My 1 star goes away because of the price — I think they are a tad overpriced — Like the portfolio shirts and tops — $ 59 for 1 seems extreme.
Still I try to grab as many deals as I can.

The staff here are exceptionally helpful and attentive. Also kudos for having multiple plain, conservative suits since 4 other similarly priced clothing stores in the area had no more than two options each.

If Kate Middleton were an American, she would shop at Express.
Express does everything right: on trend, great selection, lots of work-​appropriate apparel, and priced right. The quality is good too, with fabrics that do not wrinkle and linings on clothes where you’d expect them. I’ve had my oldest pair of Express pants for ten years and they still look great. And I can’t not mention the jeans: Express jeans fit perfectly and they stock more options (sizes, lengths, styles, colors) than any other store.
I can’t believe I waited so long to find this location so close to my office. I spent $ 350 on a new blazer, three work camis, a dressy sweater, a weekend-​morning top, and moto black leggings.
Ready for fall. Love this place.

This specific location of Express has by far the best customer service. I’ve come into the store on multiple occasions asking the sales associates to help me put together an outfit and they always put down what they’re doing and patiently help me find an outfit I’m excited to wear and confident in.
Large location with a huge selection of apparel and jewelry! They also have a decent size sale section which other stores lack. Overall, completely recommend this location of express!

I normally love express. This store has a lot of fitting rooms which is nice. But when I needed a bathroom 2 employees offered to let me use the Starbucks down the street. No place to sit and wait for someone in the fitting room. An employee ran a rack into my foot. In a place where I have no problem spending $ 200 for myself I expect more!

Talk about wonderful customer service. I’ve been in here several times and you always get greeted nicely and offered help. Every single person in there is helpful and kind. Also, the coupons are terrific and there’s never a problem with them. I’ve been to several locations and this is by far the best one. Very clean and packed with lots of inventory. If you need a size, they will go out of their way to find it and if they don’t, they ask you if you want it ordered online. I highly recommend this location.

Besides the quality of express clothing going down hill from 90’s this location doesn’t check to remove security tags after purchase. They must have turned off door security sensor bc I was stuck with security tag on my pants once I got home.

The selection they have is huge and it is nice that the clothes I saw online and liked are available in the store for me to try on. The only reason I am giving this place 4 stars is because the sale items and discounts they have are not a lot, and once when I asked the staff about a particular discount, they said that there was no such discount but when I went up to the counter, the clerk said there was a discount; thus, I got some inconsistency from the staff on what clothing were and were not on sale.

This store location is great! The store is usually nicely stocked whenever I shop here and the sales associates are super friendly. They greet you as you enter and always ask if you need any assistance. When I decline politely, they make it known they are available by name if I have any questions.
The fitting room attendant is super helpful and the store is organized. I’m glad this store is near my office! It’s definitely one of the better Express stores I’ve shopped at!

I went in here last weekend for their 40% off sale. The store was absolutely freezing! I know it is pretty cold outside, what with the polar vortex and all that jazz, but even the back of the store was downright freezing. When anyone would enter or leave the establishment, the wind from the doors would gust into the store. It was so uncomfortably cold in there, all of the employees were wearing jackets or coats. One female employee in particular was wearing a hat and knee-​length parka. Just ridiculous. Express needs to adequately heat their store! If necessary, bring in some temporary supplemental heaters — especially for the fitting room area, which was very cold.
Unsurprisingly, none of the employees here were very helpful at all (I had to dig to find my size, no offers for starting a fitting room for me, etc.) — but I really can’t blame them because they were all probably concentrating on not getting frostbitten.

I haven’t been to this Express or any other in a LONG time. On this particular day, I knew exactly what I wanted, I wanted to purchase two shirts and there was a promotion at the store (Buy 1 full price, 2^nd 50% off). I asked one of the sales rep (on the sales floor) about one of the shirts but it was not in the store, she said, its okay, you can still make the purchase, we will have it shipped to you for free. I went to the cashier, I asked her I would like to buy the shirt and one that is that available online but not in store. She responded «I can do that but you have to pay full price» what?! why? I asked why? And I guess she was not expecting that, her response: Because our systems are not synced together… huh? What does that mean?
To be honest, the store was clean and organized. I used to shop at express at the time, but in the last couple of years, I haven’t shopped there. The front of the store had tacky and slutty clothing. The cashier person, was rude, she could have offered a different approach to have me — make the purchase! Terrible! Maybe I would have purchased the second shirt at full price with a discount code. I was so annoyed, I walked away and paid for the two shirts online with $ 8 shipping charge.
If you can, skip this store.

THE BIGGEST AND CLEANEST, NEWLY RENOVATED EXPRESS EVER.
Although the 34^th street location is their flagship, this particular Midtown East Express is so well organized and clean.

I was baffled at how nasty one of the girls was that worked here. She was so rude to both myself and 2 other random shoppers nearby (rolling her eyes, condescending tone, huffing & puffing as if we were bothering her by shopping around her)… It almost made me want to put the clothes I had over my arm back on a random rack and just leave, but I let it go.
Aside from that, they also have some really nice, helpful employees as well. The store itself is quite large, with a good selection of work clothes. It can be kind of chaotic during sale times, but its worth rummaging through the piles to find what you want — their stuff can be overpriced at times, so 30 or 40% off is always awesome.

Normal Express, look online for coupons (never pay for full price). Employees always reach out to help and I never feel like I can find something in here but I window shop a lot here to pass time.

I consider this Express store to be my little secret. The store is always well stocked and merchandised, the staff is very pleasing to the eye and helpful, and every year — during the annual sale — this location seems to be the best stocked.
I started coming here a couple of years ago just out of boredom (was parked close by while some visiting ladies ravaged through Saks). I was glad I did. Express clothing is usually designed and crafted well and the jeans make my behind look wonderful (so I’ve been told). What better way to start the new year than to rake through the great end-​of season-​bins and actually find things that are your size?

Excellent selection. Some Express stores in the city don’t have the whole business wear collection, but this location does in addition to casual wear and outfits for night out on the town and matching accessories. It is relatively organized and tidy and is well stocked.
Express always mails out coupons like $ 15 off when you spend $ 30 etc. and the employees always give you the discount even if you didn’t satisfy the spending amount by a dollar or so. It is always so difficult to find a combination of things that total to the exact amount you need just so you can get the discount. The employees are extremely friendly in helping you find your size or color if it isn’t there.
The most recent time I came, one cashier was so friendly and cheerful. There was some new rewards system, and he swiped it so that I got points BEFORE he took off the discount (so I got more points than I was supposed to). New York City needs more people like that employee that helped me.

This Express is 2 blocks from my job… thank goodness!!! It has really saved me from numerous occasions the last year and I’m so grateful :)
Interview opportunity arose while I was at work and for my lunch hour, I went and got a brand new suit with the help of the employees there.
They are very helpful, super nice! and did I mention helpful? I have not had a problem there (except the few times they have left sensors on the garments and the alarm has rung). Other than that, no problems (My interview went well and I looked sharp BTW). I usually just like to stroll in the store and see what new items they have or what the new styles are the next season, but I’m not hounded to buy anything there. I also get the chance to get my BF some shirts that may be on sale and he loves them.
They have great promotions and awesome coupons if you sign up via their website.
The only thing, I am not a fan of their jeans. The fit types are good, but there is no elasticity in them. I need more than 1% spandex LOL. I also stay away from their store when they have their «box sale» where everything is placed into boxes by size and its such A MESS! Although, one time i went, i will admit to finding good deals during this sale. But that’s just it… you have to DIG! Make sure its of quality and not destroyed.
Either way… I love this store!

An Express is an Express, except for when it’s an Express in New York. Then it suddenly feels more upscale chic. My friends and I had a browse around here while their sale was going on. The ladies were visiting from England and found the quality of the clothing to be similar to the fashions abroad. (American chain stores have a reputation for being «wear and throw away» quality.)
Many of the smart blouses caught their eye, as well as the tank tops. We each left with something that we could not only use during vacation, but would be suiting for the workplace as well.

They have great sales! The cashier line is usually long if you go after work hours, but the customer service is great and efficient. My favorite thing to do is to go crazy and order everything from their online sale, and then go to this store to return what didn’t fit, at no extra cost!

I really like this store location and space but my review comes from their customer service.
I purchased 4 items and when I went home and tried it on, I decided to return 2 items the next day. When the woman rang me up, I was a little puzzled at the amount. I returned 2 dresses (that should be a little expensive) and one of the items came out as $ 29.99. I asked specifically «are you sure that this dress only cost $ 29.99?»
The 2 remaining items I decided to keep were 2 skirts and according to the receipt, one of them cost about $ 50, which didn’t make sense. The cashier said yes, she was sure.
Surely enough, I went home & double checked the tags and both of them were about $ 30. How could the remaining item cost MORE than the tag?
I had to lug everything back to the store the next day again, and explained to the same lady about her mistake. She did NOT apologize but just proceeded to give me back my additional amount for the correct amount. (So uhh… I was RIGHT all along and if she had been paying attention, I wouldn’t have to go through all this!)
I’m a little miffed that she did not apologize and did not admit she made a mistake, even when I made comments like «good thing I kept my tags & receipt!» she just mumbled something and asked me to sign.
So… PEOPLE, CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS and make sure they aren’t making stupid mistakes like this! Go with your gut feeling and double check everything since apparently, they are not detail oriented at this store.
I just saved myself about $ 20 by doing this. Unfortunately, I had to lug my Express bag back & forth 2 times to work & home.
