Place really rocked our socks off!!! A tad noisy, but that’s because everyone was chatting about how good the sweet plantains are!!!

The food is excellent and so is the service and atmosphere. I had the steak and eggs and it was very good. The steak was perfectly cooked and delicious.

Food was amazing. I had the steak and my girlfriend had the lamb. The meat was tender, just right off the bone. No wait at all. The food was fresh and hot. And the mojito was legendary, me and my girlfriend had 2 each. The service was amazing and friendly. I will most definitely will come back again, I can’t wait to tell my friends and family about this spot.

Arrived on a mid weekday evening, several tables occupied. Luckily for us this meant extra quality service on top of the great selection of food and happy hour choices of drinks and appetizers to choose from. Can’t go wrong with any drinks or appetizers. Lechon was tender and flavorful. Also the service was 5 stars as well! I will be returning here again soon.

Found this place on Unilocal and decided to go for lunch. Really interesting and relaxed atmosphere complete with bongo chairs at the bar. Had steak and eggs for the first time and the steak was very tender. The chimichurri sauce for the steak was delicious as were the yuca fries that came with it. Highly recommend!

Always a greate place for your boozy brunch. Food is fine for brunch and the bottomless deal is great: You can switch to a different drink if you want to. Also the cocktails are made fresh every time. And try the salted bananas!

Came here last night for a friend’s birthday party. We got several appetizers for the table and all ordered our own entrees. Mojitos — delicious and very minty Tostones — the tostones were fine, but, the sauce was DIVINE Paella Verduras — a very large portion, so, I had plenty to take home; the rice was cooked perfectly and the leeks and mushrooms had a great flavor and the cheese on top really pulled the whole dish together The waitstaff was attentive and friendly. Definitely would come back to Favela!

A slice of Brazilian-Cuban charm and deliciousness in Greenwich Village! Escape the city jungle for a brunch that delivers on both flavor and service. $ 22.95 gets you all you can drink for 90 min — and not just the typical mimosa, but a list of handmade cocktails and beers! Give yourself a 2 hour holiday and make your reservation!

Great Cuban restaurant!!! Had a Cuban sandwich. It was delicious. Great ambiance with salsa music in the background. The empanadas were excellent as well. I recommend this place if you are looking for Cuban cuisine.

Pretty décor, drum bar stools is a plus. $ 1 oysters, discounted drinks and appetizers during happy hour(though the discounted appetizers were only cheaper by the normal cost by $ 1). Ordered a seafood paella and it was fairly good. My friend ordered the gaucho steak and I think I liked his better than mine. Seafood paella was decent sizing though so you can share it with friends.

I’ve walked past this place a thousand times, and I’m glad I finally checked it out! It’s a cute little restaurant perfect for a leisurely lunch. We started with the chicken empanadas, which were good, but the accompanying mojo verde sauce was seriously addictive. I know I probably should have tried more of their namesake Brazilian and Cuban menu items, but I went with the half sandwich/soup/mixed greens lunch combo. The chicken soup hit the spot on a cold day, while the grilled veggie sandwich was nothing I haven’t had before, but still delicious. Portions weren’t huge, but were still filling. Pro tip: you can get a free dessert if you check in on Unilocal! We tried the brownie and it wasn’t memorable, so I’d definitely try one of their other options(like coconut flan) instead. Service was relaxed, but very friendly. I’ll be back to try more of their regional food(and maybe their bottomless brunch) soon.

Came here for my birthday celebration and had a really nice time. It’s a snug little place and we were able to snag a last minute 9:30pm reservation. The service was swift and friendly. The empanadas were on point! I could probably order a boat load of them and call it a day. Instead, I opted for the paella, which was pretty tasty. It didn’t blow me over and in all honesty it was more reminiscent of arroz con pollo but it was still good. BF had the steak with yucca and spinach which I definitely want to try next time. Yes indeed there will be a next time. Favela Cubana provides strong drinks, solid food, and good ambiance.

Their Brazilian shrimp stew is a must try. Their take on «camarao a balana» is a melodic treat, made with coconut milk, tomatoes, cilantro, peppers, and onions. And shrimp. Afraid of spices? It’s not that bad[1]. If any of that sounds awful, weep at what you’re missing. In fact, wallow in your sorrows at Favela’s happy hour: it runs until 7pm[2]. Don’t drink? Maybe their $ 1 oyster and clams happy hour special will keep you busy. Find it hard to keep your foot tapping once you hear a good beat? Tuesday nights are salsa nights. It’s easy to overlook this Greenwich Village restaurant, but hard to forget. [1] Yes, I’ve said that I’m dead inside. But even if your taste buds are capsaicinally-challenged, trust me on this one. [2] What’s the deal with places with happy hours that end at 6pm?

While roaming around SoHo we came across this place and decided to grab some lunch. It’s a cool little spot and rather enjoyable. Décor: It’s a small place, half of the seating being indoors and half being outdoors, but they really play up the Cuban theme(which is cool). There isn’t a ton of shade for the outdoor seats, so be advised on a hot day… we, in fact, sat indoors(JUST inside, not way in the back) so we didn’t have to bake in the sun while we ate. And we’re glad we did, it made the meal much more enjoyable. Bathroom: It is a nice bathroom with the Cuban theme continued Staff: Our waiter was very nice and very quick to take our order and bring our food — no complaints! Food/Drinks: We started with Sparkling Mojitos(very tasty) and then had some chips and gauc as an appetizer(be aware, they charge for extra chips!). From there we had the Ropa Vieja(very tasty) and a Chicken Sandwich(tasty, but lacking on the chimichurri…). Everything was tasty. Value: We paid about what we expected, nothing outrageous(other than them charging for extra chips! Pretty lame…) It’s a good little spot but nothing special. You’ll have a tasty meal but there really isn’t anything that we are dying to come back for here.
