The people who work here are super nice!!! However, the prices are a little higher compared to coffee /drinks on campus and other coffee shops in the area. For instance a large coffees $ 3 and large ice coffee is $ 4. The shop itself is also poorly designed… Meaning once you pay and collect your order, there is hardly any space to mix any condiments to your dink. The space between the entrance, countertop and register desk is very tight. You constantly have to keep moving and turning for others to enter and exit… Even if your are there for just a few minutes. Other than this, the people there are really nice

A great find! Yummy coffee. Fun place to work near the City College. Super cute inside!

This place is eerily similar to the coffee spot closest to me over on 8th. Zombies in the back staring at their computers, sub-par pastries, an okay-ish Americano but nothing stellar or even great, typical music, typical quasi-ambivalent barista, etc., etc. etc. Great place to go if you need to feel depressed about how plugged-in the world’s become, SOS. I think I whipped out and started tapping on my phone just to fit in. SNOOZE.

My coffee had a sour taste to it. It was pretty disappointing.

Great lattes and chocolate croissant. This place puts me in study mode but a downside would be that it is small.

Standard coffee, definitely better than the coffee that’s available in the surrounding area. Cheaper than Starbucks! It’s a good place to sit down and read or study, if you’re able to snag a table. If not, counter seats aren’t too bad either. I’ll definitely come back to try out their specialty drinks.

I had a macchiato and a muffin from here and couldn’t be more pleased. The coffee was strong and it’s been several hours and I still feel it(normally coffee doesn’t hit me so strongly). I’ll definitely be back throughout finals week to keep myself going! The muffin was one of the best ones I’ve had in awhile. Sad that I’ve been going to Café One(which is great!) when this place literally across the street is even better! Only disappointment was I saw some people after me get their rewards cards punched, but I wasn’t offered one. Guess I’ll ask for one next time I’m there.

I, unfortunately, must update my review with one star less than before. I still continue to enjoy the stumptown coffee here, as well as everything else but on multiple occasions I have had interactions with a very tall barista boy with a baseball cap on who seems to loathe customers and just being there in general. If you don’t enjoy your job, quit. It’s unfair to the paying customers to receive such attitude and disinterest. A one time event is not worth mentioning, but multiple is. Of course I will continue to come here, but I hope this reaches someone who can help the unhappy employee.

Strong coffee, no frills. Fast and friendly service. I just wish they carried vegan pastries!

Very cozy place. Small but airy. I am not a big coffee drinker or expert but the iced mocha tasted great. A little pricey considering it’s just coffee but apparently there is something about their beans being high quality. In either case the 25 minute break from work, 3 degrees my body temp dropped and soft rock in the background was worth the price of admission. I stumbled upon it while looking for some refreshments during work and I’ll be back; prob with my fiancée and stack of Bride magazines to gain some browny points for when a guys night out pops up.

Co owned by one of the owners of the nearby decadently cozy yet homey Chipped Cup, this coffee spot doesn’t disappoint. With a more stream lined décor, they offer the same friendly service and strong cup of joe as their sister shop. The pastries are freshly baked and high quality but definitely would be a costly everyday treat. Also, as they are delivered and not prepared on site, the quantities are limited. I enjoyed the nitro cold brew from this location but would definitely opt to take it to go as the interior is very small.

Another great espresso bar in Harlem(part of the Double Dutch, Chipped Cup and Lenox Coffee suite) with everything you would want: Marzocco machine, Stumptown beans, decent Barista — although not the most enthusiastic), nice decoration, Wi-Fi and selection of good bagel and pastries. Only 4 stars since other places remain way ahead.

Super friendly staff and amazing Stumptown Roasters coffee, brought to you by the same owners of the Chipped Cup/Manhattanville Coffee, etc. empire. These guys clearly know what they are doing! The Nitro Cold Brew is fantastic, but be warned — it is quite high in caffeine. If you don’t normally drink more than a cup a day or are somewhat sensitive, it’ll probably get you a little jittery. Despite its caffeine strength, you might find that you won’t need as much(or any) milk or sugar in The Nitro. This is because the Nitro is nitrogenated, which gives it a smoother flavor. The other coffee varieties are also great, as are the bites to eat(although the selection is somewhat limited). Seating space is also on the small side.

Filtered grabs a cool 3 – 4 stars from me, easily! As cool as their cold, cold brew… What I love about this place, I love in spades. What I am not so fond of, meh… You get the idea. Certainly nothing that will stop me from coming back again and again. Their cold brew iced coffee will knock your socks off, sterilize you and leave your ears ringing — in a good way. In fact, all their coffee here is really good, but that cold brew… Dang, son. The environment is peaceful and classy, comfortable seating and operable WiFi that doesn’t send you into a coronary attack(that’s a job best saved for the tachycardia-inducing coffee). The staff is pretty friendly, prices are a little steep but well worth it for what you’re getting if you really need a kick in the pants. Oh, and they offer literally *nothing* vegan to nom on… Get with the program and realize the uptrending local demographic, people!

If there was any compelling reason to visit Filtered it would have to be the superb nitro slow drip iced coffee. At $ 4.50 it will get your motor running, maybe a little too well. The coffee here is excellent, and for coffee snobs like myself(although there are plenty of other options for my caffeine fix) the extra 6 blocks is worth it when something so good awaits. There is limited seating in this coffee shop but I always manage to secure a spot. The outlets are easily accessible and the wifi connection is strong, so there’s really no excuse not to finish whatever work you’ve had lined up for that day. Whenever I need to plug in and get lost, filtered is a solid choice.

Wonderful new coffee shop near City College — close enough to stop over before or after class — finally, somewhere nearby to go! Lots of seating for such a small space. Plenty of outlets, good wifi connection. There’s actually space to work, which is a huge plus. Very clean. Coffee drinks are great. I had an issue with my drink and they fixed it. Kind of on the pricey side($ 5.25 for a large latte) especially for the area — but they’re using Stumptown beans which aren’t cheap. Food options are sparse, visited early afternoon and there was almost nothing left.

no ½−½ on saturday morning. 50 grocery stores within walking distance, no initiative to go buy missing product. Instead, two barista’s behind counter discussing the one in the denim shirt’s breakup. «So, like, I really care about him and, like, wanted him to be, like, okay, like,…» Good lord. Hire better people.

Pros: (+) Plenty of seating! (+) Free WiFi (+) Relaxing chill r&b music (+) Register is an iPad and quick — in and out (+) Love the bookcase wallpaper (+) Décor is awesome Cons: (-) None. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I felt like I just walked into a coffee shop in Brooklyn. Oh wait, we’re in Harlem, that’s right! Can we just take a moment and admire the amount of work they put into making this place look so darn unique and cool. It’s definitely got that chill bookstore and coffee vibe while listening to r&b jams from Maxwell in the background. Nice music choice. But let’s not overlook how impressed I am on how they were able to accomplish so much seating and standing space in such a tiny space. Anyone who visits the coffee shops around this area understands what I’m talking about. The coffee and chai is great. Price for my chai was $ 3.75 for a large. Pricey? Maybe. But it’s almost the same price in other coffee shops so I’m ok with it. As far as I’m concerned, I’m all about supporting local businesses. Welcome to the neighborhood Filtered!

So glad this place opened! I’ve been looking for a coffee shop closer to City College for a while now, so this place is an answer to my prayers. The coffee is great! I got the cold brew, super refreshing. The beans they use are from Stumptown. I’m looking forward to trying the other drinks on the menu. The interior is small but cozy. Between the friendly baristas, cute setup, good coffee and free wifi, I can see this coffee shop getting popular… And crowded fast! Definitely one to try!
