Fogal of Switzerland

Fabric has poor quality and HORRIBLE customer service from the store manager, Matt. I was completely bewildered and appalled that he has the nerve to talk to his customers the way he does. I recently purchased a shirt that was defective and ripped into a big gaping hole two weeks later… Customer service directed me to this location in New York to have the item replaced. He was an arrogant, flaming, narcissistic jerk. I can GUARANTEE the reason this location is failing to make their sales goals and sales to plan is because of the lack of customer service from their manager. The company may want to take a long, hard look at the people they hire to represent their company. I will NEVER purchase from this company again and will make sure everyone I know is aware of the poor quality of clothes and customer service I received at Fogal. I will also be sure to let the BBB know about the defective product they are selling. As for Matt, congratulations on your life goal as a retail manager… hope that’s working out for you! Lol

Of all the things one has to do before one’s wedding, finding a stupid pair of hose to wear seems like the easiest task on the list. But you know what? It’s sure as hell not. After months of trying to find the perfect «not too sheer, not too opaque, not to shiny, not too nudey, not going to run as soon as they go on» tights to go with my dress, I was in a panic. And then I walked in to Fogal. These ladies know their shit and you better just shut up and buy what they tell you to. After trying to describe my dress, and hemming and hawing about colors, I finally showed them a photo of it on my phone. After that, one of them pulled out a sample and said «this one.» And then she told me it was buy two get one free, so of course I jumped all over that bidness. I was still skeptical on the way home. Looking at them in the package, it seemed impossible that the color would work. And then I put them on. And it was like wrapping my legs in butter. (in a good way). And the color? Spot. On. Crisis averted. These are definitely not cheap, but they are gorgeous, will last you forever, and if you are having a hosiery freak out, these people will save your ass.

Recently went to Fogal’s to purchase a pair of tights. I told the sales representative I might return them if they were not the correct color even had her write the correct color on a card. Purchased, got them home, took them out, put my hand in the stocking and in fact they were the wrong color.
I tried to return the unworn pantyhose and was told by the customer service representative they could not be returned. When he saw I was getting frustrated, he rudely retorted, «It’s only underwear.»
If it’s «only underwear» then maybe he should give me $ 59.00.
Need to train the employees on protocol and friendly customer service and not just rely on the receipt. Wish the sales person would have told me opened packages are non-​returnable. I’m bad I didn’t read the receipt but Fogal is behind in customer service and I will be shopping at department stores from here on out.

I’ve been very excited to buy a pair of tights from Fogal for a long long time. SO when I saw they were having a sale I was an eager beaver!
First off, this place is very tiny so the minute you walk in you’re being asked if you need help. The woman who work here are very posh and pretentious but have always been helpful despite their undertone of «I am better than you.»
The tights here cost a fortune but are well worth every penny.
I am a person that wears tights every day. I have bought tights from small boutiques to huge chainstores. So when I felt the quality of Fogal tights. I knew that they would last a very very long time. Like all the other ladies have said before me, they’re not ordinary tights. They’re HIGH quality and LAST FOREVER!
If you wear tights every day, or often. You need to own at least one pair of tights from Fogal. If you’re crazy about tights, go ahead and spend the 40+ dollars on a pair. Think of it like buying a pair of jeans. (I actually think you can find some leg-​ware for as low as twenty dollars.) If you’re not as crazy as I am about tights. Drop by during sale time and purchase a pair.
You will not regret it!
Also, good tip. When you first buy pantyhose put them in the freezer. They become stronger and more run-​resistant.

Fogal has absolutely beautiful tights, hose and stockings, crafted in Switzerland. I never understood paying so much for legwear until I finally was lured into the store by the beautiful display, and the saleswoman allowed me to try on some of the samples they have out on the rack. Once I pulled on my first pair of Fogal tights, I understood. Quality. Un-​binding, soft, and sensual quality. They feel amazing, and you can tell they are going to last a long while.
They don’t always have everything I’m looking for, but they always have some unique styles. I was also careful only to buy the stay ups with more than one row of silicone, as per the saleswoman’s recommendation, as stay ups tend to roll down the leg on me, and a couple of the pairs I looked at did not look substantial enough to stay. So far so good on the pair she steered me to. Also, I wish some pairs of the fall tights I bought from here last year didn’t have the heavy seam down the front so they could be worn with more clingy or jersey dresses, because it does show through many of my outfits :-(
That aside, I really love my Fogal legwear, feel wonderful in it, and the attentive service in this store cannot be beat. They even sent me a free pair of mini net hose as a gift with an invitation to a new store opening, and I’m not even a regular customer. I thought that was pretty cool.
I’m 3 ½ stars for Fogal. I would like to give 4 stars but keep changing my mind mainly because, while I don’t mind paying high dollar for top quality, I really feel they should have worked out the issues I mentioned with more meticulous design and testing. The standards should be impeccable to that degree, for the price.
I am not steering anyone away from Fogal by any means, because I think the legwear they sell is worth it. I am just saying that if you are browsing to buy in this store, be very meticulous about inspecting all details, think about how they will be worn, and ask lots of questions.

I just got out a pair of Fogal pantyhose that I bought in 1993 and haven’t worn in years. The elastic waist is still perfect, there were no runs or any sort of damage. I wore them all weekend and they felt brand new. Why waste money on any other brand? They fit beautifully, look elegant, are super comfortable and never wear out.

Arrived at 6:30 which is their closing time.
The phenomenal lady didn’t blink an eye.
She helped me find some leggings that would fit my not size 2 friend I was buying for.
Sooooo many colors.
Sooooo many varieties of tights, stockings, leg warmers and leggings.
Yeah they are expensive but they are awesome.
So is the service.
Can’t wait to go back.

Ok a part of me cringes at spending a lot of money on something like stockings or leggings but Fogal is worth it. I’ve gone the cheap route and all of those stockings are long gone (tears, stretched out, dingy looking, etc.) but my Fogal ones are good for years! Even my wonderfully thin and delicate stockings have remained in good condition through the wear and tear of many winters. I initially bought these because the store was close by to work and my friend would often shop there, but as time has passed and my stockings have lasted I’ve become more and more impressed with them. Love them.

I coined this phrase in the Zagat Shopping Guide — and I will say it once again: Cost a Fortune, but wear like iron.
These are not your ordinary pantyhose. They are luxurious and long-​lasting investments in your legs. Great knees highs, socks (if you can find ‘em) and lingerie too.
Love EVERYTHING about Fogal — even more than I love Wolford.
It’s just the BEST, best hosiery that (lots of) money can buy.

Beautiful stockings! Gotta love everything about Fogal… their intricate designs, perfect packaging (love that each design has a name), etc. And the best timing to buy these is when it goes on sale… can get huge discounts for these expensive items to match my Manolos!
