Futonland – Functional Furniture and Mattresses

Great customer service. I orderd over the phone because I misread the advertisement for a discount posted online. I was given a discount anyway!!. I received a great mattress, cover and non-​slip strips. Great place!
I will definitely be ordering from there again when I need something for my futon.

I ordered a futon on Saturday and it was delivered on Wednesday.
I primarily worked with Elvin who really took his time in helping me figure out what was the best futon for my needs. Between him and Michelle, who helped schedule my delivery everything went perfectly.
The 2 men who delivered my futon did an excellent job between the assembly of my futon to working with me to make sure that I knew how to open and close it.
This experience has been excellent and I highly recommend Futonland to anyone looking for a quality futon with a very friendly, knowledgeable and professional staff.

About 6 months ago I bought two futons from futonland, one of them has worked out great!!! However, the other one broke only after a few months of usage.
The man I spoke to right off the bat, Elvin, was super helpful and had me send pictures then forwarded my information to the manufacturer. After finding out that the manufacturer would not honor their warranty I’m very grateful that Futonland stepped in to help. The manager, Eddie, was very understanding towards my situation. As you can imagine, buying a futon and having it break so soon was very disappointing. Even though he did not have to help (since it is a manufacturing issue), I was able to get a much better quality futon and slightly more expensive with shipping and assembly included for only $ 100.
I know if I had dealt with any other company I would’ve likely had to buy a new futon and pay full price. Definitely recommend!

We arrived ready to buy and got a great deal from the floor agent… Delivery was free in Manhattan and they arrived right on time. The set up crew was fast and efficient and 24 hours after buying a Futon Set, we were enjoying it in our living room! Thumbs Up!

Elvin was EXTREMELY helpful and found me a lovely bed that I had delivered and assembled in less than 24 hours — and on a Sunday to boot. With a low budget, no car, and 100-​some pounds to my name, furniture buying sucks. After agonizing on Sleepy’s website, I happened across Futonland and Elvin reached out to me through live chat. Within 20 minutes he sorted the whole thing out. I couldn’t be happier with my storage bed and the $ 320 mattress is surprisingly not bad. The picture of my bed looked IKEA-​quality, but Elvin assured me it was much better than that. He was right.
The delivery guy was also great — he came 20 minutes early and did everything so quickly and neatly. What a nice guy. Do yourself a favor and go here if you’re on a budget.
I love this place and will be coming back for a sofa bed. Thanks a lot guys.

Would rate this place 6 stars if I could! Amazing helpful salespeople and managers who were able to address all my questions and concerns when I called to set up and inquire after my order. They offered free delivery all the way to central New Jersey. And the bed I bought here is absolutely perfect: comfortable, simple, easily store-​able, and extremely affordable. Amazing place. I couldn’t recommend them more highly for furniture basics and excellent delivery coordination. Much easier than ikea!

Employees were pretty nice. We came in to look for a bed frame, and they honored the Unilocal coupon ($ 10 for $ 20 coupon). They didn’t know how to use it but they figured it out. They also thought they didn’t have the bed frame in stock but did some computering around and looking around the store (I understand it’s futon land, not bedlands so I understand if they aren’t used to selling bed-​items). Helpful, nice, it was a great experience, especially since they had that bed frame in store and we didn’t have to travel to their other location.

My husband bought 2 beds and a futon from this place and the service was TERRIBLE!!! They did not deliver the items on the promised date and were reacted in an angry manner when we complained. They treat people terribly and are extremely rude.
After a few weeks, one of the beds broke and the refused to fix it, they said that my parents (who were sleeping on that bed) must have misused the bed — I guess my parents did not sleep in the right angle for the bed. They blackmailed my husband telling him they would only help in exchange for a good review, so BEWARE, many of the positive reviews are likely fake, forced from customers who needed ape thing fixed from this extremely low quality store.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE OR DEAL WITH THE CONSEQUENCES!!!
The only thing worse than the quality of the furniture, is the customer service!!!

I bought furniture from this store allured by the good prices. One of the bed I bought felt broke after one month. I sent them the pictures hoping the staff would share my sense of urgency as my elderly grandparents were visiting. The sells representative Michelle did not provide a timeframe. She repeated that once they had the piece they will give me a call… So when exactly? — when we get the piece — was her answer.
Two days now into the problem and still no bed, so we are sleeping on the floor.
Hope to hear back from them, if not the department of consumer affairs will receive my complaint.
Avoid this cheap furniture — go to ikea!

These guys helped me out. They didn’t have the futon that I wanted at their store, but they had it at their Brooklyn location. I had just drove 1 hour from Brooklyn because I called and they said that they had it. The Brooklyn location was about to close, but the guy agreed to wait for us until we got there. It ended up being too big for our room, and they let us return it no questions asked the next day. I’d say easy to work with, a little pricey though.

I am a returning customer. I’ve been sleeping on a Futonland futon for a year now and I love it! I bought another one last week for my roommate who’s been using air mattresses for the last few months. Get the white glove delivery. It is totally worth it. The put it together in about 20 minutes. Everyone from the showroom floor to my door was courteous and professional and I am very happy!

Furniture is not bad, and the salesperson is quite nice. But the experience was terrible!!! They delivered some of my furniture and forgot some pieces, even though I had mentioned how important it was that I get everything on a specific date as I had guests coming. They threw the garbage in the lauded room and I was fined by the building. They did not deliver my mattresses until the next day. Nothing was as they had promised. When I brought this up to the manager «Eddie», he was extremely rude, and told me I was lying, despite several pieces of evidence of what happened. He kept swearing and yelling. This is not the place you want to buy anything in!!!

So, I didn’t actually buy anything from futonland, and that’s why I’m leaving a glowing review.
I called them up, I wanted a futon cover to fit over both my futon mattress, plus a foam mattress topper. The guy on the phone said that they could do that, but that I wouldn’t be happy with it. He said I probably wouldn’t be able to fold up the futon, and it really wouldn’t look that good. All this despite the fact that he was super up-​front about the covers being non-​refundable.
TL;DR: sales guy could’ve given me what I asked for and taken my money, instead talked me out of buying anything.

Purchased a bedroom set from futonland and everything went great! The delivery guys came on time and set the whole thing up speedily. Less the a year later, my bedframe and dresser are completely falling apart and not in easily fixable ways. Would not purchase from them again.

Needed to furnish my living room with a loveseat that didn’t overpower the small room. Found a very comfortable futon loveseat with matching ottoman that opens into a bed for summer evenings. Francisco was very helpful and delivery was on time. Delivery guys demonstrated how to open and close the futon. Be sure to get the white glove service, which includes delivery and assembly, and a confirmation call 20 minutes before your order arrives.

I don’t know why this place has gotten so many raving reviews. But I trusted those reviews and went for this store.
A few weeks ago I went in person to see their beds — but they only carry 2 beds in the actual store. So the guy was like «all the beds you see online are of similar quality.» Considering they are from a million different manufacturers I was a little skeptical but on-​board. Online they say in big letters that they PRICE MATCH. Their bed was double the price of SEVERAL online companies, but I liked the idea that there was a physical store that was going to guarantee the product AND that for $ 60 they would deliver and set it up. But after they had me send links to other prices they were like — nope sorry we won’t match any of the prices that you found… WTF?! How is that a price match?
I still kinda liked the idea of going through them, since my credit card price matched anyway… but dude became all attitudey and nasty. I called another one of their locations to see if I could talk to someone elsel and the guy was SUPER helpful and it turned out not a single Futonland even carried that bed anymore! The guy at the UWS store didn’t even know that that bed was discontinued!
(PS I wound up buying that same bed from an online store for waaaaaaaayyyyy cheaper than the guy at Futonland was selling it, and that online store was SUPER helpful. The Futonland guy said the bed was really difficult to build — which was NOT true. It took me and my boyfriend maybe a half an hour to 45mins combined to build it AND when one of the parts had a little chip on it, the online store
offered to either have a replacement part shipped at no cost or give me a partial refund on the already crazy low price.)
If you are gonna go with Futonland, DON’T believe anything Luis says… the Brooklyn guys are much more honest and helpful!

I took a star off because I felt I overpaid. My futon was expensive but since it was the only one in the market in that size, I figured I should pay. Yikes! The Unilocal deal for delivery does not include assembly and you have to pay an additional amount for each flight of stairs the delivery men will have to go up. This ended up putting additional expenses I wasn’t expecting, but since I can’t assemble this myself I had no choice.

Update: My futon frame cracked on both ends after 30 days of having it. I slept o it alone and I am about 115 lbs. at first they stated that they would replace the parts free, but I would have to pay the labor cost of something like $ 35. I was upset. I think Francisco helped me through it. They ended up fixing it free of charge.
Also, the mattress has been sinking in. I have to sleep on different ends to kind of help even it out. It doesn’t spring back, it’s has permanent imprints, it seems. However, it is VERY comfortable to sleep on for a futon!!! I am still satisfied with this purchase, overall!

I am always wary about going into stores, but my experience at Futonland was absolutely amazing! From the second we walked in, we were greeted by Francisco who was patient, and kind and knowledgeable. We fell in love with a sofa but since we live in a studio, we didn’t know if it would fit. Francisco didn’t pressure us like a lot of sales people have — he let us to our thing and answered all our questions and then some. When we came back a week later to fulfill our order it was seamless.
When my couch and mattress were delivered the guys who came to assemble it went above and beyond. They were kind and helpful and knowledgeable. I cannot recommend this place enough. There is a reason they have an A+ on BBB.
