So everything was awesome and the server was awesome but there was a hair in my entrée and the manager(not our server) thought giving us 1 free coffee was enough. I couldn’t finish my plate after I found the hair and yet I still had to pay $ 32 for the entrée. So never coming back on principal.

We had a large family meal there and everything was wonderful. Service was excellent as was the food. My nephew and his wife had the Porterhouse for 2 and it was the best steak I ever tasted. Pastas were great. Wine was delicious. We had a private room and really enjoyed the night.

The food was very good but be careful of the specials. We ordered the appetizer special and it was three times the cost of the other appetizers. $ 32 versus $ 12. The dish was very good but we felt like we got the bait and switch with the pricing. Also it’s weird how they bring the credit card machine to your table and wait as you swipe your card and enter your tip.

Quiet gem snuck into the side street of Gold St. & Maiden Ln. It’s usually a bit quiet inside, but the food is excellent.

Great service! Spacious environment. We had family in town for my husband’s birthday. Finding a place to accommodate seating for a larger party can be a challenge but this place had nice large round tables which was great for conversation. We did not feel at all rushed. Booking a reservation online through Unilocal was easy and fast. Restaurant called and emailed me to confirm my reservation as requested since I made reservation before they opened. I also made a note in the reservation about my husband’s birthday and they were quick to accommodate and brought out desert for him with a candle. It was also nice perk to have the cheese and meat, bread and olive pepper player complimentary. The food was good, pasta was definitely homemade. One complaint from the family was that the sauces were a bit watery on the spaghetti and gnocchi. My mushroom soup was fantastic and is highly recommended if you like mushrooms. And I enjoyed the vitello alla Mt Etna!

Reliable high-end Italian in downtown to celebrate that special office milestone with a great project or to discuss the plans for the next successful deal. Standard higher-end Italian food executed well, and delivered with discretion and professionalism. A winelist that is ambitious, reflecting what this place can facilitate. Warmly recommended.

New Years Eve prior to Jimmy Buffet concert. The bread and cheese with hot peppers are a great touch. Careful with the peppers if you don’t like it hot. I had a pasta with cream sauce and it was delicious. Service was attentive and on point. I’d go back.

A good example of the genre: old school Italian restaurant with gruff but good service and hand-made pasta. All the standbys are good here; I assume you don’t need me to list them. However, if they have cavatelli as a special(and maybe they have it all the time, I don’t know) order it immediately. Perfect mouthfeel; chewy, but not too chewy, substantial. Maybe not quite as good as Frankie’s Spuntino sausage sage masterpiece(in fact, you should go there right now) but very very good.

Outstanding fresh food and service… always remember me even if it’s been months… a hidden gem in the Manhattan financial district. Great stop for the weary traveler as they are so welcoming. But not a tourist trap. I opened a Unilocal account just to write this.

Great food and service. I highly recommend one of the homemade pasta specials. Very tasty! Their signature dessert is also excellent so make sure to save room for that too. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed enjoyed dinner at this restaurant. While there aren’t too many good restaurant choices in downtown, this restaurant should definitely be on your list as one to go to!

This place is in a hidden spot but its location should not take away from the fact that they offer a great dining experience. Charming, old school Italian décor with 2 floors. The basement holds a nice wine cellar. The service is great as the servers are very attentive but be forewarned, they do not cater to your every whim. What that means is that they tell you exactly how it is. They tell you what to have, what not to have and how to have it. It’s a very old school family feel. I personally like that since they know their food the best! The food is super yummy. I went with a larger party and most got the Dover Sole, which was cooked beautifully. Oh and they provided us with ample snacks of cubes of parmesan/parmigiano, salumi, marinated peppers and olives and bread. I got the Pollo Principessa, which was fried in a white wine and lemon sauce. It was very tasty. My colleagues got a veal dish, which they loved and another diner had the pasta carbonara, which her husband kept picking off of from her plate. We stayed pretty late and they were nice enough to accommodate us and did not rush us at all. All in all a great experience!

Ambiance is very warm and inviting. We live in FiDi and consider this our neighborhood go-to Italian restaurant. Food is consistently good and staff is very knowledgeable and nice!

Six of us from the workplace had a really late lunch here on a snowy weekday. The food was really good and service was on par for a restaurant at its price point. All but two from the group ordered the specials of the day which included a house made fettuccine with seafood, a Bronzino dish and a sole dish. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal. The group also had family style calamari(light and crisp) and a burrato appetizer. Along with the bread basket was a complimentary plate of hard cheese and salami, green Italian peppers, and olives. We finished off the meals with some cannoli(for the table) and espressos. Overall a very nice lunch dining experience with personable head waiter and attentive supporting staff. As like most of the restaurants in FIDI, it does not look inviting from the street but the interior looks fresh and warm. If I lived in the city I would definitely come back to this venue for a nice dinner.

If you are looking for absolutely mediocre Italian food, in a beautiful yet empty venue, for exorbitant prices look no further. We went on a Saturday at 6:30 pm and were the only patrons for the first 20 mins until one other party joined us. The best part of the meal was the bread basket and complimentary charcuterie plate, but from there it was downhill. The soup and salad were bland. The four cheese ravioli entrée was small(8 pieces), strangely smokey flavored, and not tasty. The salmon entrée was bland, too fishy, and not particularly edible. And despite the restaurant being empty, we had to wait nearly 30 minutes for the check. Worse, the tab for two came to $ 128(including tip). We wish we had gone to Harry’s across the street.

A Magical Wedding Reception On Sunday, November 30th, my partner and I had the distinct pleasure of celebrating our 30th anniversary and our wedding reception at Giardino D’Oro. It was a magical experience!!! Benny(the owner) and his team are amazing hosts. They paid attention to the most minute detail and ensured that everything ran smoothly. The food was spectacular — amazing cocktail hour appetizers and the dinner was superb. The atmosphere was so comfortable, fun, warm and intimate. I can’t think of a better place to celebrate the happiest day of your life! If you’re planning a New York City wedding and want a beautiful, intimate venue with amazing food and service, outstanding attention to detail(Benny is a joy to work with), and incomparable value — look no further than Giardino D’Oro. I would highly recommend a visit to this wonderful restaurant at your earliest convenience. You will not be disappointed!!!

I walked in for a solo dinner while traveling for my job. There were only four other patrons in the place yet I was denied a table and made to sit at the bar despite making my preference for a table clear. The explanation was«we seat single diners at the bar.» I probably should have just left then. I decided to accept the bar seat and ordered the lobster bisque and veal parmigiana. The soup was good but the veal parmigiana was very tough and overcooked. The place has a very snobby air to it and the food doesn’t meet up to the prices they charge. I won’t be back.

This is hands down my most favorite restaurant in Manhattan. We found it via Unilocal when we were scouting locations for our wedding dinner. Our first experience was superb. Great staff, nice environment, and oh my goodness the food! To die for! Something a true Italian can appreciate! Needless to say we wanted to move forward with booking our wedding dinner there. And then we were introduced to Benny. He only made the experience better and boy was he the man throughout the entire planning process! He catered to all of our needs and requests and assured us everything would be perfect for our 40 guests… and it truly was. Everyone raved about the service and the food. My Italian family still talks about the ricotta pie that they say tastes better than their mother’s! That’s blasphemy in the Italian world! Oh and definitely get the gnocchi… it’s homemade and oh so delicious! Kudos to Benny for his effort, kindness and patience. He even offered to drive the bride and groom back to the hotel after the dinner… talk about good hospitality! Whether for dinner for 2 or a large party… this place is a gem. They also have a downstairs dining room which was perfect for our wedding dinner because it was private. Bellissimo!

I’ve now been here twice for work dinners, once with ~12 people and another with 5 people. The food is excellent; they have a good mix of specials and they’re very willing to make any dish vegetarian. There are two reasons it’s not a 5 star: the wait staff is hit or miss(one gentleman we had is not quite as friendly or helpful as the other), and it is pretty expensive for what it is. I know it’s the FiDi and things are expensive around here, but compared to the other«fine Italian» restaurants in the area this is quite a bit more expensive without an increase is quality, and possibly even smaller porttions.

Service was pretty good, and the free olives, salami, and cheese at the beginning of the meal is a nice touch. However, that’s about all the good that can be said of our meal experience. The food was incredibly bad. For starters, the bread was stale(I always look forward to eating the bread at nice italian restaurants). The calamari tasted like it had been frozen and then warmed up the microwave. My girlfriend and I both ordered pasta for the main course and both had a terrible meal. My ravioli was much more edible than her angel hair pasta, but even the ravioli was uninspired. Also, our meal was expensive. How this restaurant has so many positive reviews is beyond me.

Loved, loved, loved it! Went around 9:00 on a Friday night. Very light crowd. Loved the salami and cheese plate they give you when you sit down. Service was perfect. Portions were huge. Homemade pasta… we loved it!

Giardino D’Oro is more of a downtown Wall street type men-heavy dining spot. My supervisor took me here for a fancy lunch. The entry way is shabby for some reason but the inside décor is far away from shabiness. It has dim lighting and tons of wait staff ready to serve. Each table is provided with a nice free appetizer of cheese, salami and warm bread basket. I chose their Carbonara pasta for my lunch. It is nicely cooked. Pasta is cooked just right with the right texture and the heavy cream is not overwhelming. I do reckon this is not a casual dining spot as you would feel slightly under-dressed. Yet. this is definitely a good place to bring clients or treat your employees.
