I LOVE the pizza! Here’s the big but: the place is run terribly! C’mon, get it together! Every time I go in, not even once in a while, every single time, there is never any regular pizza already made. The guy behind the counter always says: «it’s gonna be awhile», as if he’s trying to convince me to not wait for the pie that will eventually come out of the oven. Seriously??? And, I’m talking about the dinner hour! No pizza made or even in the oven!!! The owners need to get staff that care about the business and the customers and have pizza available! If not, pack it in! The pizza is great, but nobody wants to wait a long time for a couple of slices! Please get it together!

«Got ham pizza? Huh? Get it? Huhhh?» «Sir… this is like the fifth time, I’m going to have to ask you to leave.» ^ Imaginary conversation I’d like to have with an employee here.(They may or may not have ham, to be honest…) Anyway, this pizza place is a minute walk from my apartment and this makes me happy for two reasons. 1. Lunch special: $ 5 for two cheese pizzas with a coke = my go-to when I’m feeling broke and not-so adventurous. 2. Their pizza is good. The cheese is substantial and the crust is nice and crispy. When it comes to bang for my buck, Gotham delivers. *ba dum psh*(But like I said, I walk there, so no need for that.) On another note, I had the white pizza and the margherita before — I wasn’t that impressed, so I think I’ll stick to my plain-jane favorite from now on: cheese.

Pizza is all it is for the most part. That’s really all you can get at this establishment. I wish they’d expand their menu a little more to be competitive with the other places in the neighborhood

I like the pizza here but the service really sucks. Their closing time is 12AM. I called them for a delivery at 11:40PM, they said they dont have any one. I said I will pick it up in 5 mins but they said that they closed the kitchen and are cleaning it right now. I dont really understand why they have to close the kitchen so early or else they should update the closing time. Never ordering from here.

I have been a repeat customer for three years now. At first, the place was amazing, and the food wasn’t terrible. You can’t beat the lunch(which consisted of two crispy slices with a drink). But today’s visit solidified my decision of taking my business elsewhere. My first gripe with Gotham Pizza are the employees. Children and young adults frequent the pizzeria, especially during lunch time. Yes, when school is out, the children are rowdy and annoying, but what’s disturbing were the employees staring at the teenage girls entering, eating, and exiting the restaurant. My second gripe concerns sanitary conditions. Ingredients, especially cooked pizza going in and out of the oven, are handled without gloves. Today, I requested a lunch special and saw the cashier grab my slice(s) with his hands and threw it into the oven to heat it up. When he took it out, he threw it into a pizza box, and again, touched it with his bare hands before cutting it in half. After closing the box, he took cash from a customer behind me and with the very same hands, he opened the register, counted the money, placed money into the register, and went about taking the next order. The icing on the cake is the rudeness. The employees, if not listening to music or texting on their phones near the fountain drinks, speak to customers without a care in the world. And finally, the taste. In the past, the pizza was always served hot, and dough crispy, and the garlic knots cooked perfectly. But, the pizza now is served lukewarm, the cheese is bland, and the garlic knots are usually burnt. Therefore, for now, Gotham Pizza has lost my business.

Just okay pizza. Sauce kind of bland, way too little cheese and the pizza from the last delivery was warm at best, plus the guys there are rude.

Ordered on seamless and had to call a couple of times because the pizza was late. The guy on the phone couldn’t have cared less and didn’t offer any explanation why the pizza hadn’t even gone out for delivery yet and hung up. Pizza finally arrived almost 40 minutes outside of the delivery window and was cold. Horrible service. Never ordering from here again.

Possibly the best pizza on the upper east side! Go or oder delivery, you wont be disappointed(although it’s always better fresh out of the oven).

I wish that I could give no stars as this place was on my way to the apartment that I lived at for 6 years. I gave them a few tries as I was really trying to like them because they were so close. No bueno, don’t waste your time.

Bad service and not an amazing pizza. This pizza place used to be one of the best in the neighborhood. The lack of good attitude to its patrons and the fact that the quality is plain standard now makes this place a no go pizza place. It appears they are short handed; and then, it is the customers and the final product that gets hurt. Do yourself a favor and look for another place for pizza.

Inexpensive, which may be because of the lack of taste. I had two slices and a drink, $ 5.00 which isn’t bad for the UES. Bland sauce, bland cheese, thin slices.

It’s a very straightforward pizzeria. It’s a tiny place with about 6 – 7 tables, 2 two sweaters and 4 – 5 four seaters The food: Grandma Slice– I thought the flavor of this was good, the sauce had a nice pop and you can see chunks of garlic and pieces of basil throughout. The bottom also had a nice crunchy bottom. Plain Slice– this was good but not as good as the grandma. The plain had a very unusual bottom to the slice, it had these mini craters on the bottom but it was nice and crunchy.

The pizza is okay here. I had a problem with service. I ordered delivery on seamless. The delivery guy made me come meet him downstairs. He said he couldn’t come up to meet me because he had other deliveries. Isn’t that his job? Just saying.

You know that song its all about dat bass no treble. Well the equivalent in pizza is the crust. And this place didn’t have it. Mushy bland crust. Bottom was like sandpaper. Look it is pizza… and all pizza created on this great green earth is delicious. But as far as pizza goes… it is mediocre. Barely warm. Rushed it a bit out of the oven. Pepperoni wasn’t even melted in. was like small discs protruding up above. not how you know its supposed to be. Yeah it is open late. Yeah it is pizza. But its not great. so don’t kid yourself

I went in for the lunch special which is two slices and a soda for five dollars. It would have been a good deal however the pizza was just OK. It was cooked correctly, there was a good sauce to cheese ratio, and it tasted the right amount of spicy, but it was nothing exceptional. Also the man at the register wasn’t memorable, he was kind of robotic. I do not think I’ll be returning as there is another pizza place nearby that to me is superior.

it’s inexplicable why i go here, but i just love their plain slices(i haven’t tried the others). i want to say they use a cornmeal on the bottom to add a crunch to the thin crust. good proportions of sauce and cheese and that’s really it. their garlic knots are really good too; garlicky without being greasy(4 for $ 1.00 too). i like the plain slices more than luigis which is only two blocks away.

Two words: grandma style Amazing Moved to the area and Gotham pizza came highly recommended by a friend. Now it’s «our pizza place» Guy that takes phone orders is hard to understand but the service is fine. The pIzza makes up any problems with service. We’ve eaten in, carry out and delivery. All good. Clean, cheap, good food.

I was making my way to a restaurant and I was extremely hungry. When I walked by gotham pizza, I thought I’d stop by and grab a quick snack to hold me over. I got one pepperoni pizza slice. I know pizza is suppose to be greasy but my pizza? I could literally hold it up and watch the grease drip down all over my plate. Clogged arteries waiting to happen! I dabbed my pizza down, no big deal. Took a bite and was an ok pizza slice without all that extra grease!

Gotham Pizza is a chain serving up the classic selection of pies as well as a some less traditional. I stopped in at Gotham when I was nearly famished post-thrifting in the area. There is a nice big dining area – although nothing fancy, it’s hard to find an affordable take-out eatery in New York that has more than a couple of tables. This place is definitely good for groups on the go. I ended up just getting a single plain slice and a soda because I got railed with the ‘credit card minimum’(always in quotations because this is illegal). I really, enjoyed the different type of crust their regular slice delivers – it’s very thin, and has this crackly texture to it. Unfortunately for the price it was not worth it. For $ 5.00 I got a small slice and a watered down fountain beverage. At other places in the area you can get two bigger slices and a soda for the same price. They indeed need a price adjustment considering their slices aren’t hefty. I’d consider ordering pies from Gotham in the future but I would definitely patronize another local establishment to get a better deal on single slices.
