Halal JFK Chicken & Pizza

Very greasy ribs and chicken and soggy onion rings. Potato salad was sour and chicken over fried. Not to be repeated.

My fiancé and I love this place waaayyy more than we should, but it’s right around the corner from our apartment. The pizza is perfect when you get a craving, and if we’re feeling extra lazy the delivery is always on point.

4 stars solely for the tastiest & crispiest fried chicken!
I bought three pieces (2 thighs and 1 breast) and took it home. I went to town with it with some sriracha and Cholula original hot sauce right in the comfort of my own home with some television. Skin is crispy and the chicken is seasoned and tender. Best $ 5 I spent on fried chicken. Yum!

Whenever I go to a Halal chicken place I usually get a salad. I always ask them to put «white sauce» on it if they have it. People often use white sauce of gyros and salads. It is famous in Afghan restaurants. It can honestly say that this place has the WORST white sauce I have ever tasted. It tastes like mayonnaise and has chunks of something in it. So I put the «white sauce» on the salad. Then after complaining ended up adding ranch dressing to it. It really tasted awful. They should have just remade the salad and given me ranch. They said no one complains. I dare anyone really taste their white sauce/​gyro sauce. It’s disgusting.

This place has very good chicken for the prices, a great value. The chicken rings are very tasty and the ribs are also good. I have had some issues with delivery in the past as mentioned in other reviews but that seems to be a non-​issue lately.

After a night of moving into my new apartment on the UES, wanted to grab something cheap and quick to eat and satisfy my hunger. Trekked all the way north to find a weird sign that says «JFK Chicken». WTF? I said and immediately walked in. They specialize in A LOT of fried comfort food and the usual sandwiches and salads. Got their Dinner Special that comes with 3 pieces of chicken, coleslaw, mashed potato, and a dinner roll for less than $ 6. I don’t know how they season their chicken but they were pretty tasty though the chicken were too small. I also got their Mozzarella Sticks and Fried Stuffed Sweet Corn which was great too (but what fried food doesnt? lol) Service is kind of weird, the guy behind the counter doesn’t speak much English and forgets my orders and asked me to repeat my order three times. He also seemed to be «daydreaming» or just has problems paying attention to customers. All in all, I was full for less than $ 15.
They don’t have a minimum for credit cards but will charge taxes if you use you card to pay instead of cash. On the bright side, they are open till like 1 – 2 a.m. so this place can be handy after a night out drinking in Midtown or Downtown.

The delivery service could use an attitude adjustment. After waiting an hour for my food I was told that it was on its way. After an hour and a half I called and was told (with an attitude) that the delivery person’s bike was stolen and he was making deliveries on foot. I watched him arrive two hours late on his bicycle.
The food itself might have been good, but it’s hard to tell when it’s soggy and ice cold.
Unacceptable, and I wish I hadn’t been lied to.

Sometimes it’s 12:30 am and you need fried chicken. Really we probably didn’t, but we were trashed and they delivered. Definitely a good late night option if you have a sudden case of the munchies once you’ve returned home from a night of debauchery.

This the kind of place you go to when you need chicken in a hurry. I ordered me a Kennedy box and the chicken was overall juicy and tender but the sides were disappointing: store-​bought mashed and the biscuit was really just a brioche out of a store-​bought package. slaw was a-​it.

Good for late night runs

This place has very tasty, well-​seasoned chicken. My boyfriend and I split the medium bucket combination meal for just $ 11. It came with 2 rather small and unexciting mashed potato sides, some run of the mill dinner rolls and ok cole slaw. I was most disappointed in the fact that there were only legs, thighs and wings in the combo. Not a breast to be found. Now I know that the breast is a pricey cut of the chicken, but not not include ONE within an eight-​piece bucket? Really, JFK? Not even one? I will say it again, the chicken was tasty, but I got what I paid for.
