Terrific doctor and wonderful office. I had an emergency and they took me right away, performed retinal surgey within the hour and I was home and resting the next hour.

My optomologist had retired and I was anxious to find one as good as he was, especially as I have been diagnosed with the beginning of macular degeneration. Dr. Engel was recommended to me by my podiatrist, an equally good doctor.
I find Dr. Engel to be an excellent and knowledgeable physician. In addition, he has a way of explaining the diagnosis in a way that is easy to understand. He has a compassionate personality and a good sense of humour. He put me at ease and I am grateful to have found him.
Also, his front office people are on the ball. I’ve recently had to go to several doctors and nearly left one practice because the staff at the desk were so rude and not very engaged with the patients. The staff here reflects Dr. Engel’s professionalism.

Excellent, dedicated eye doctor Harry Engel took care of an issue I had with my eye a few years ago and I’ve been fine ever since! He is calm and efficient. As the former chief of ophthalmology at Montefiore, you can’t get any better than Dr. Harry Engel.

I have had a series of confusing symptoms over the past year, including vision disturbances. My neurologist wanted me to have my retinas checked, and I found my way to Dr Engel’s office. I’ve worn glasses since I was 7, and have seen countless ophthalmologists through the last 50 years. Dr Engel gave me the most thorough, thoughtful exam I have ever had. He diagnosed my problem, gave me a new glasses prescription, and sent me on my way. I’m seeing better than I have in years! Needless to say, I’ll be back.

On two occasions 3 years apart I went to Dr. Engel with serious vision problems (retinal tears) in one eye and then the other. His results couldn’t be better. I’m 72 and I still don’t wear glasses. He and his staff are personal, cheerful professionals. I use Unilocal all the time and this is only my second review. I’m writing this one as a public service. Nothing is more precious that your eyesight. If you have a problem don’t take a chance go directly to Dr.Engel. Better yet establish a relationship with him before you need it. MIchael Wayne
