The food was mediocre. My burger tasted like it was pre-cooked and re-heated. Overpriced in my book. Service was fine.

I WILLNEVERGOTOHENRY’S AGAIN. The service is TERRIBLE. The food is MEDIOCRE and the preparation is really INFERIOR in every way. I would be embarrassed to present what they serve to anyone. The prices are also LARCENOUS. How can a black bean burger(which comes with absolutely nothing except a piece of aging lettuce and a few pieces of dried-up raw, sliced red onion), a side garden salad(consisting only of a few pieces of lettuce with a nearly tasteless dressing), and a large bottle of Saratoga mineral water cost $ 30! I have never felt more ripped-off!!! We also had to wait over an hour for the server to bring 4 separate checks to our party of 8 people! How hard can this possibly be to calculate? They also had the nerve to include a tip!!! I think the server knew that she would not have gotten a penny from any of us after the shabby treatment we received and low quality food. I don’t blame the server as much as the management. If servers are properly trained things like this just don’t happen. THEMANAGEMENTSTINKSATHENRY’S!!! The only positive thing that can be said is that the space is very nice. There are so few good restaurants in the Upper West Side I hate to see any one of them pack up and leave, but I truly hope Henry’s does, and soon. They do not deserve to be in business.

So my bae and I are all about live jazz music. We saw a sign that they have live jazz with drink specials on Saturdays. We went in. The bartender was very cool. They only had mimosas and bloody Mary’s as their special for $ 5. The jazz music was 2 men playing instruments. The music was low and not very good. We didn’t stay long. We saw a blind man leave because his food never came out after a very long wait. I hardly can judge this place because it’s just on the music and observations, but we won’t be returning. 45 minutes was more than enough for us. Maybe if they liven up the music and have cooler drink specials-otherwise, not for us.

My fiancée and I go(used to go) to Henry’s often because it is in our neighborhood, services good if not very creative food, and has a late kitchen. However, every time we went, the service got worse and worse — and it was never good in the first place! Sitting in the bar area, it took almost an hour to be served a simple sandwich. Granted, Henry’s was crowded and the bartender was obviously very busy; however, he did have time to talk to his friends at the bar while blatantly ignoring the rest of his section. Too bad their service can’t match their atmosphere.

After stopping by several restaurants to review their dessert menus, I settled on the Henry’s. The atmosphere was warm and inviting! They had nice jazz playing on the overheads and the ambiance was West Side cool… also of a worthy shout out were the wait staff, were really friendly and accommodating :) Henry’s has a nice selection of desserts to choose from however the Warm Chocolate Cake with Pistachio Ice Cream was a true winner for me. The cake was warm and chocolate gooey inside, the pistachio ice cream was an excellent compliment. I couldn’t get enough of it… I was sooo sad to finish it. Definitely a nice place! I will stop again to taste other menu items and of course… chocolate cake :)

Ordered delivery from Henry’s. They charged my card $ 30.00 and then called me 15 minutes later to tell me that they do not deliver to my area. I live 9 blocks away. Where do they deliver? Next door! Very poor customer service. The food is just OK so now there is no compelling reason to order from them. Warning — Before ordering from them check, because you may wait a long time for inferior food or they may call you and not deliver at all. Now you know.

I ADORE this restaurant, The Food is great, but what truly makes this an outstanding dining experience is the class, gracious hospitality, and kindness of Henry’s staff.

Oh Henry my Henry. Thou’ shall not leave the Upper West Side of Manhattan without dining here. One has to order the Chilaquiles for Brunch. It is a Mexican-American fusion brunch that is savory and will still leave your mouth watering for more! The black beans was a bit soupier than I had anticipated, but paired with the cheesy tortilla chips — it was incredible. I also ordered the homemade sausage on the side and can say this was by far my favorite part of the meal. The sausage was authentic and flavorful. Plus, you get about 5 per order. That’s so many. Talk about bang for your buck! On top of the food, the service was exceptional. The waitress we had was friendly, quirky, and outgoing. She was extremely helpful when making a decision — only because I wanted to order everything on the menu. It’s okay. It’s my life. Overall, I was very pleased with this place and I’m sure you will be too!

I ADORE this restaurant and most enjoy a meal at the bar(even with a friend). Henry’s does so many things right! Yes, the Food is great! Yes, the Happy Hour Bar Food is terrific! Yes, the place is lovely and SPACIOUS, including the outdoor dining! But what truly makes this an outstanding dining experience is the class, gracious hospitality, and kindness of Henry’s staff. Last night on my birthday a girlfriend took me to Henry’s and we dined at the Bar(I think Joel and Patrick were on duty). You’d think I was being cared for by a warm family — THAT’S how great the service was(and the slice of birthday cake with the tall skinny candle was unexpected and delightful). Many fine restaurants in Manhattan nail great food but few tie it all together to create a superb dining experience — THAT requires staff who really understand HOSPITALITY — If I could give Henry’s SIXSTARS, I would!!!

The waiter was a bit forgetful, the poached eggs had a bit too much vinegar, but the rest was delightful. I would say the minor mishaps were definitely not enough to deter me from coming again. All-in-all an excellent brunch. PS the cornbread basket is to die for!

This is our go to spot for brunch. Awesome appetizers for the table to share and the food is always great. Good place to spend a few minutes by the bar– crowd is always friendly and bartenders bring complimentary snacks from the kitchen. Usually sports on the 2 tvs, never loud. Have to ding them on service as it’s always slow and there is always an excuse. Worth your time for a decent meal with friends. Updated to 5 star based on 2 flawless brunches and restaurant feedback on 4 star review. Nice knowing the management is invested in getting it right…

Henry’s is the«local» UWS spot. Being up here every day for work makes a visit to Henry’s inevitable. Not bad. At first glance, Henry’s seems like a place that would be pretentious. It is, a little bit, but in a forgiving manner. A majority of my visits have been to the bar for happy hour. This is probably the best time; the drinks are good and it’s kind of cantina style where the longer you booze the more nibblets come your way from the kitchen. Grilled peppers, olives, etc. Nice touch. Service is good, although I always seem to be there when Henry himself is around. Curious to see if the poor service reviews are accurate when he heads out.

They can’t make a grilled cheese. «It’s not on the menu» he said over and over again. You have cheese? Yup. Bread? Yes. A grill? You betcha. And you can’t make a grilled cheese? «it’s not on the.» I know, I know. Is this«Five Easy Pieces»? Am I Jack Nicholson? I’ve been going to Henry’s for years and they pride themselves on being a neighborhood restaurant. Well Hank, you just lost a neighbor.

3.5 stars rounded up for the excellent service. I have to start off by saying that my experience here may differ from other peoples’ due to the fact that I was at a holiday party here, and the entire space was rented out. So obviously my experience wouldn’t be an every day occurrence. Service here was superb. Drinks were delivered very quickly and the food service overall was excellent. The amount of time between courses was perfect. For my appetizer, I decided on the mushroom ravioli which had many different types of mushrooms and was literally soaked in truffle oil. So much truffle oil… almost too much truffle oil, if such a concept exists! The ravioli was flavorful as were the mushrooms, but I’m biased — I love all kinds of mushrooms. Would I order this as a regular entrée? Questionable. I also had one of the SO’s mushroom spring rolls with a thin hoisin sauce — the feedback all around for these was they were excellent, and I’d have to agree. For a place that isn’t «Asian» at all, these spring rolls were excellent — hot and fresh. The entrée was where it went a little bit downhill for myself and friends. We got the strip steak with brussel sprouts and french fries. We all ordered medium rare, but the steak all came out medium to well-done. Huge disappointment all aorund. Other than that, the sprouts were flavorful and the fries were pretty standard. The dessert was excellent, but you can’t really mess up molten chocolate lava cake. It was super, super«molten» — a little too much, but can’t complain too much about that. The pistachio ice cream(not sure if it is house-made) was excellent. I love a hot and cold combo! For a holiday party, Henry’s was an excellent venue — it held our party very well and the service was excellent. Food could have been better in some aspects, but for a large party like us, I think they handled it fairly well.

Service was terrible. Our waitress ignored us after we decided not to get a bottle of wine vs individual glasses. It didn’t make sense to get a bottle because the bottle was $ 51 and glasses $ 10. Bottles are about 4 glasses-you do the math. There were only 3 of us. When we mentioned the obvious price difference, she offered us a ‘special price’ of $ 44. She did not check on us once throughout the main course. The food was mediocre. The Caesar salad was watery and loaded with dressing. The pasta was bland and something I could whip up at home(and I don’t cook). Host also had an attitude and had no desire to deal with people.

Ok, the owner’s thoughtful and positive responses to my and other reviews makes me add another star which brings them up to 5 stars. It’s really rare when an owner cares and is that thoughtful an positive in response to criticism. If you go to Henry’s and are not satisfied with any part of your meal I think you should tell them then and there, which I did not do, I just saved all my bitching for my review :) My original review: Our excellent red-haired waitress bumps them up to 4 stars. They were very patient when half our party was almost an hour late. I’d describe it as American Bistro fare and they feature New York State wines etc. A complimentary hunk of bread was served with some delicious garlic infused oil. My mussels($ 19) were big and juicy and a very generous portion but also had a lot of grit in them and the sauce was a little bland. I probably should have sent them back due to the grit, but I didn’t. I also didn’t really love my overly sweet $ 11 Pimms Cup cocktail. On the plus side, the $ 12 profiterole dessert was actually 3 pieces, so that seemed generous. Espresso($ 3) was OK, but I wished it was served with some lemon or orange rind. Overall my impression of the food and drink was«meh» but the service was excellent. We enjoyed our relaxed meal and I would eat there again… I just wasn’t scheming to go back as soon as I’d left, if you known what I mean.

The inside is roomy and with tall ceilings, with lots of wooden walls surrounding the interior of the restaurant. Each table is dressed with cute blue and white gingham tablecloths, very warm and welcoming feel invites you in. Food was«ok», a bit pricey on some items, like burger for $ 16 that does not come with any side(like side salad or fries). The service was not that great either.
