Me and the lady was walking to the stop on a frozen New York City day when we saw this delightful place and decided to stop in for coffee. Having a sweet tooth, I opted for the hot chocolate, of which I was offered the option of adding homemade whipped cream or marshmallows. I opted for the marshmallows, and the result was one of the best hot coco experiences of my life. The carrot cake was also delightful, but that hot coco was a real treat. Wow. The woman who worked there was a sweetheart. Awesome place.

First off, the prices are great for the area… Now that that is out of the way, I am slightly confused by this ‘Eatery’. Maybe as a marketer, their ambiguous brand identity made me anxious and left an awkward feeling in my stomach– I’m not sure. Their menu is limited, and when I was there they were out of several items. They have a fridge full of pre-made sandwiches that looked pretty good, 1 soup of the day, some cookies… this place is pretty sparse. Also, the people working at the counter confused me and made me feel slightly out of place. There were only two people in front of me and the man asked ‘who’s next?’ I had a bag of cookies in one hand and shyly raised the other. ‘She’ll ring you up,’ he responded, indicating the female cashier, who’s services I was already in line for. When I did get to the counter she asked me what I was getting. I showed her the cookies(2 in a bag) and she asked me if I wanted one or two. Could I open the bag? Was one even and option? I still have no idea. I had to scrummage for money due to a $ 7.50 credit card minimum. I HATE credit card minimums with a burning passion because cash is dirty and I never have any of it anyway. I will say that the place was almost as barren as the menu, which was good for me because I had a fairly large table at my disposal, from which I could sit and read during my lunch break. Despite the low cost I think I’ll stick to Café Cafè.

This place is really simple. The menu never changes — and they offer the same 4 sandwiches and 3 salads every day. The food is good though and the prices are reasonable.

Friendly Service and a good selection of homemade baked stuff. I had the mozzarella sandwich and found it to be a bit small. It was melted in the microwave and finished on the Panini press. I am not sure why they don’t just heat it on the press. The home made chips are good, but a little greasy.

Fresh, friendly, casual to-go spot/café. The prices were basically on par with the rest of the area, or even a bit more economical. The sandwich/soup combo worked well for me. Some seating, not too crowded. Great for grabbing lunch to stay or go. They’re connected to HERE theater.

Cute place to grab a quick bite while in the neighborhood. Friendly staff, nice menu. I recommend the lemon ginger tea as well as the mushroom panini. I found it to be reasonable priced, as well. Enjoy!

I work right in the area so it I just assumed it would be «gourmet’ soho expensive, but a co-worker said opposite and I went over to check it out. The people working there were extremely nice. I thought the petit cup of couscous with gooseberries and basil was going to be a rip off for 3.50 but I was wrong! Soo tasty and filling! I also had the first veggy salad on the menu, super fresh! The veggies are all chopped very differently than a normal salad bar, it is indeed gourmet and delicious and only 6 bucks– a nice serving! I haven’t tried their wraps and sandwiches but they look tempting. PS what a nice stained glass and cozy seating area they have! Couches and all. I had a lovely lunch sitting there, even if there was crazy construction outside! I hope they get more adventurous with the menu, and start offering more selection! Very affordable and fresh for trump/soho!

Have I found the affordable and quick sandwich, salad and coffee place near my work that I’ve been looking for? Seems like it!

I come here before going to intern down at Here Arts Center about twice a week. I happen to get a discount for working at Here, but otherwise I wouldn’t pay their prices. As a vegetarian, they only have one sandwich — the portobello — to offer, and I hate cooked fungi. Its a bit too hot in here as they don’t seem to have a functioning AC, and they don’t accept credit cards(they’re working on it). Its fine to sit down and buy a beverage for a few minutes but don’t come out of your way just to go here. There is PLENTY of other great restaurants in the area. Staff is very friendly though. *an update* Apparently, they now accept credit cards(yay!), the AC is fixed(also yay!) which bumps it up to 4 stars. I was commented with they do have some more vegetarian options, which I guess I just never noticed… Wish I would have noticed them to be able to try them though. Well, I will, whenever I get down to HERE… Maybe there’ll be an update with 5 stars for this cute café ;)

In Looove with the fun snacks and sweet treats(S’mores cookie!!!) at the eatery. The sandwiches are fresh and tasty. There are plenty veggie options: hummus/veggie wrap, portobello sandwich with truffled ricotta & Grilled Veggie sandwich with fresh mozzarella served hot. I recommend the homemade iced peach tea and the herb-n popcorn! Love that it is a cute spot to enjoy a refresher in an area that is mostly deli’s and fancy places. They’ve made it as comfy as possible with fresh & fun décor. All in all, you feel like you a friend when you go in and they even remember«The Regulars».

service was a bit slow and they are cash only for now. probs the squeaks of a new place just getting settled in. the italiano sandwich was great, not too filling but not too small. just right says this goldilocks. cuuuute space in an area that is sadly lacking any cuteness. good to go for wine & small bites too!

As one of the many fans of Jimmy’s #43 I had to check this place out sooner or later, and hearing that they’d gotten their beer and wine license decided the time was now. Jimmy made #43 into a mecca for the food(and beer) obsessed, so I was eager to see what his spin on the café idea would be. The narrow space is attached to a theater. The glass walls to the outside open up to give the place a sidewalk café feel, even though seating is indoors. The furnishings and décor are modern without being over slick. The servers display the scruffy warmth one has come to expect from good baristas. The menu splits the difference between coffee shop, small plates Italian joint and aspiring wine bar. Daily selections of baked goods(sweet and savory) and soups round out the set menu of panini, salads and various cold plates, everything seemingly priced between $ 4 and $ 12. What separates One Dominick Café from many similar joints is the fact that with Jimmy at the helm there are little finds on the menu to push a food enthusiast’s happy buttons. Here’s an example: a cheese plate arrives featuring buffalo milk Taleggio. Never had that before! Turns out to be much milder and fresher than the standard issue version, but with the same lingering creaminess. Lovely stuff. The wine list is currently a work in progress, but prosecco was available, and that fit the bill. If they nail the wine list the way they’ve nailed the menu and décor this will be a five star place. I’ll be back soon to see how they do.

You’ve been to Jimmy’s No. 43, right? Right.(Right is the right answer there, if you haven’t been you should go, seriously) Well I must declare, this Jimmy guy is on fire! Fiyah I say! 1 Dominick is such a keeper, a cute lil’ Italian café in South Soho that is connected with the HERE Arts Center, that has some yummy small plate food options, plus it’s really cozy & full of character. We had this watermelon, ricotta salta, cherry tomato, mint, olive oil plate of love and then we had dessert… HOLYCRAP… baked Joey’s dairy ricotta, with orange blossom honey and pine-nuts. Oh– it’s open all day too, they’ve got breakfast stuff as well. Looks good– I’ll have to try that next. Also seemed like a great spot for parties and gatherings… Word is liqueur license is on it’s way, let me at those Italian micro brews!

I met the owner J***y at the Taste of TriBeCa Volunteering Party last week. Since then I have been on the mailing list for his events. This space is situated directly east of Trump SoHo in Hudson Square and is shared with the Here Arts Center to the left. The Zippy girl behind the counter, A****s, is super nice and gives generous pours. The tasting for the evening was Sparkling Red Wine with Chocolates for $ 10. The chocolates were sponsored by J*****e of NuNu chocolates. She made the chocolates herself and was there to answer any questions i had. The two for tasting were the mezcal chocolate and a salted caramel chocolate. The two wines were from Lombardi, Italy. Not by any means a wine expert, my palate was able to distinguish the pairing fairly quickly: the mezcal with the sangue di guida(sweeter) and the caramel with the bonarda(dryer). Refills of chocolates and/or wines were generously offered but I declined. On the regular menu are paninis and light Italian ‘tapas’ such as olives. Will be back to try the famed cheeses here. I may even bring a few of my food meetups here. Names have been concealed to protect the innocent :) Tried: –Bruno Verdi Sangue Di Giuda Paradisio(2007) –Bruno Verdi Bonarda(2006) Total came out to $ 10 after everything
