I was walking around the area when this little shop caught my attention and I was just happen to be looking for a xmas gift. As soon as you walk in the heavy smell of incense will hit you right in the face lol. The cashier is soooo nice, didn’t push me to buy anything. I felt in love with one of the necklaces but I was skeptical about the authenticity of the stone, ended up not buying it even thou it was only 35 dollars. :(

Beautiful and colorful store. If I had a lot of money I would have bought several items. I ended up buying a beautiful lapis beaded necklace. The man behind the counter was very nice and as another reviewer said doesn’t try to sell you anything. You can browse the store without feeling like someone is gawking at you which happens in so many other stores. I would definitely go back when I need to get my fix of this type of jewelry.

What a charming shop with lovely people and beautiful items… The things I’ve gotten here are just one word: amazing. I’ve gotten plenty of compliments on the numerous pieces I’ve collected over the years from this shop and every one of them are enchanting in their own way. I absolutely adore the people here and it’s a treat to have a great connection with them. I have recommended my friends and family to this hidden gem so they too can experience the wonderful eye candy available here. Keep up the good work!

One of my favorite shops in the city — they have a great selection of jewelery and clothing The items ARE pricey but I was able to time one of my purchases w/a sale! Got an awesome silk wrap dress for less than $ 50 If you’re on the hunt for warm and cool looking glittens, this place has some on sale for $ 10. I swear by these and they’re cheaper than other places in the city at this point.

They have a bunch of Ganesh statues. If it was an Indian place that would be OK. A few Bön things, that would be fine. But a Tibetan place with Ganesh? I don’t know. In India sometimes the Hindus condescendingly say that Buddhism is part of Hinduism. Maybe I’m sensitive to Hinduism creeping into Buddhism. I was underwhelmed by this place. No prices on the rupas means they don’t have a fixed price. Seemed over priced, too. I wanted to like this place, but I don’t, sorry. Limited selection. The guy was friendly.

I came here looking for Mala beads and I found them. But for a lot of money. And the only reason I let myself spend that much was because of the cashier/manager/owner person who was very friendly and explained every type of bead I was looking at. He was super helpful and not pushy at all. So I felt obligated to spend $$$ on beads. Sad face. I just hope they’re authentic. I probably won’t stop by again anytime soon because I spent that much and there’s several other Tibetan gift stores in NYC I still want to check out. This is a great place to stop by and browse if you’re a fan of Tibet or Nepal culture or jewelry.

I’ve been to Himalayan Vision a few times now, to buy various things for myself and other people. This place has the same jewelry and religious artifacts that you typically find in these types of stores, so if you are addicted to jewelry from Tibet and Nepal like I am, you will like this place. The prices on the jewelry are relatively inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. I bought some silver snake earrings here a couple months ago, and because of the way the earrings were constructed, one of them fell off my ear on a Friday day when I was out and about. I was so mad! So I went back to Himalayan Visions and told the dude what happened. He would not replace my earrings for free, but he gave me a $ 5 discount on the same pair and replaced the ear hooks with ones that had a clasp. I thought this was a very nice compromise, especially because he did the work for free. Now I still have my silver snake earrings and they have MUCH better clasps so I know they are not going to fall off. I’ve purchased mala beads here several times — the cheapest ones they have here are about $ 16. They have lots of other beautiful stuff here too, like OM pendants, jewelry inlaid with turquoise, and everything else you’d expect at a store like this. Don’t walk in here if you’re a sucker for these places like I am – the guy that works there is really nice and patient and does not hard sell anything, but the stuff here is so beautiful it’s hard to keep from buying something. The only complaint I have about this place is that they still use those old school credit card machines that print your full card number on the receipt. So if you buy something from this place, rip up that receipt well before tossing it in the garbage!
