wellllll me and my group got in for free, even though they were denying ppl telling them it was bottle service only, the nodded at us told us they knew we were on the list and let us in without question. that was the only plus i will say about this. The people at the door are the only nice ppl, they must have a pre-requisite of being a dou**e bag to get in. Some intelligent man who didn’t realise he was in New York lit up a cigarette in the middle of the lounge and gave me a nice present I have for the rest of my life in my arm and didn’t apologize. It’s not worth it, unless it has done a 180 since I have been there.

I would give this place 5 stars but the fact that I had myself a grand of a time with little recollection makes unfortunately impossible. What I remember is that my VIP section and bottle service was def. up to par and there seems to always be some type of celebrity inside. The outdoor deck [from the last time I went] was decent. Seems as though most club-goers prefer the indoor crowds for this place def. had that with every step I took. Had a phenomenal night & would recommend this for those visiting New York!

I also caught the Shaq sighting. We were there around midnight and I suspected he didn’t want to take pictures with girls because girls kept getting refused but a guy managed to snag a picture with him. According to Shaq’s friend, they weren’t «supposed to be there.» They were pretty lame, though, on three counts. 1. They came to this club. 2. They came early. 3. They were on their cell phones looking disinterested the whole time. This was the first time I’d been and I must’ve went on the wrong night because I was expecting Hip Hop but got an eclectic song choice mashed on top of odd techno beats that inevitably killed the original songs. Ugh. Needless to say, I didn’t stay long. And unsurprisingly, neither did Shaq & Co. We left at the same time and inadvertently ended up following them half the way to the bus stop. Oh, and the bouncers were pretentious.

This place has your typical hip/hop urban crowd, similar music, and your choice of over-priced cocktails. The place definitely gets going after midnight, making it almost impossible to move or dance – the dance floor is a hot, humid, sticky mess– I was here for a b-day party, so I def made the best of it, but then again it could’ve been a different story if I had to pay cover or for my drinks~

I only frequented home cuz I had friends who promote there. What a hassle it is to get in this average club. I have seen guys get turned away because they had no ladies with them, women getting turned back cause they didn’t look hot enough, and copples get sent away cuz they weren’t buying bottles. Ok there is no cover on most nights so they get one star. Every thing from the lighting of the place, to the lay out of the club, walking up the flight of stairs, and drinking the over priced cheep liquor, Just sucks major. Thank god I drank for free in there hehehee.

I’ve had better! No problems at the door, but neither should there be considering the venue. The music and the drinks are good. A bunch of NFL football players came in with the requisitve army of skanks and everyone was asked to move to the other side so they can have all these tables to themselves. The staff was nice about it… but it’s not cool and I didn’t appreciate being relocated. It gets ridiculously hot and crowded by midnight.

Not great. My friend loves this place, and always gets bottle service. However, this place is always crowded and expensive. Not bad.

I have been to home a few times; the times that I have been there it was ok not great nothing special. For some reason the last two times that I have been there I have had problems. first problem a friend of mine always has a party there on Wednesdays, when I got there they could not find the guestlist so they wanted me to pay to get in so I am like why so I went next door to guesthouse, I use to work for the promoters that where promoting there on Wednesdays. Second problem. I was by myself as always I was early about 10:30 on the guestlist the doorman wanted me to pay $ 50.00 in drinks :) that is stupid if I am in your club I will be using more money than that in drinks anyway, but telling me I have to do it, I do not like being told what to do. And from people you don’t consider important enough to listen to, give a small man power and they will abuse it. Besides only dogs are told what to do.

Let me preface by saying that the only good thing at HOME was the comfy couch and music… Oh wait just a second, If I recall correctly, the DJ kept interrupting the song to hear himself say«wave your hands in the air, say hell yeah» over and over and over, right in the middle of the song… Annoying much. Secondly, it was dead on a Monday night, Cinco de Mayo 2008 to be exact. However, it did start jumping right when we were leaving which was about 130AM. I guess NY does start to bounce at 1AM as my NYC pal informed me. My bad, but the DJ was killing my buzz. Finally, a group of 7HOT and SASSY girls were asked to pay a cover… a cover. The club was dead, and they wanted me to pay a cover. Hello, shouldn’t you have been paying me to get the party started. After my ranting, the cover was dropped to $ 10 and we were seated in VIP. Who am I kidding, we could have sat anywhere since all that was shaking was the speakers. No one, and I mean no one, had entered the club. Props to the cool ambiance and old school R&B that was being played. Both were the highlight of my evening… but wait… I can still hear the DJ in my ear…“wave your hands in the air like you just don’t care, shout out to LALA on her birthday…“ Should I continue…

OK let me preface my review by saying I was there on a MONDAY night. It was cinco de mayo… but this is NY(not California). I doubt very many people care. We got there around 10 and they weren’t open yet. They open at 11. No big deal… we went around the corner to a bar to continue our binge drinking. We came back after 11… and there was a LINE. For a place that wasn’t even busy. A line for a place that just opened. It wasn’t a long line… but still a line. We waited, and waited… and then finally they started letting people in. $ 20 cover charge. $ 20?!? Are you kidding? You are going to charge me $ 20 for a place with no people in it??? We complained… they lowered our cover to $ 10. We got in — there were about 5 other people in the place. What the hell was that line for? The DJSUCKED and annoyed the crap out of me. At first it sounded like he was just testing his stuff because he kept messing up and music was cutting in and out. Then when the music was playing… he kept turning it down(messing up the beat) and screaming things like«$ 150 bottles of Grey Goose!» Every single one of our group of 7 was rolling her eyes. It also made me realize how ghetto the music is I listen to. This place was playing things like TLC’s Scrubs and Destiny’s Child’s Independent Women. Really. Clubs still play that? Am I in middle school again… and is this a roller rink? Oh well… when you are with good company you can still have fun no matter what. Yes, we danced to Scrubs. Yes, we danced to Independent Women. Yes, we sang along with the songs. And yes… it did make me miss the bay!

It is SO hard to find a club with great music and strong drinks, but Home has it. I’ve only been once but it was a really great time. Not so into the $ 150 bar min but I think that was because I went with a crowd of guys. This club was the only place that had Tanqueray rangpur the first weekend it came out so that’s a plus one in my book. The bartenders were really great– unfazed and was very quick with service. Another plus one. Not sure who the DJ was that night, but he was AMAZING. IF he played a top 40 hip hop song, it was mixed extremely well.

My general thought pattern of anything on W. 27th street is these are Wal-Marts of the club going world, sans the low-prices. They are like the big box, impersonal retailers that shove as many people as possible into their establishment and just wait to be shut down for violating some type of rule or restriction. Sound familiar?! Home is no better. I went here for a private party on a Monday night – the party was great and I had an amazing time, but this didn’t have anything to do with Home. The coat check was $ 3 and the little man that grabbed my jacket had a ‘tude that was larger than life. The drinks were eh – they gave my friend a rum and pineapple juice(EW!) instead of vodka and soda with a spalsh of pj, and if you turned the lights on in this place, it would be a dirthole. I rubbed my arm against a wall and i kid you not – black soot was on my arm. GROSS. The party was great, but what I do like about HOME are the large couches that make up the parameter of the two different rooms and the terrace which is awesome and has a ton of seating and tables. I’m sure thats great in the summer time, but i’m sure it gets packed as well. All in all, unless i am going to a party with an open bar and my friends in tow, i’m not stepping into Wal-Mart.err…Home, ever again.

Used to be a popular spot I guess not anymore from all the reviews I have seen here. I came here 2 years ago but still remember how easy was it for me and Miki to get into the club just because we are girls. There was beautiful crowds, great music and atmosphere. Not much to say besides these since I don’t quite have good nor bad experience here. :)

This is the easiest club to get into on the strip. This and Guesthouse. Me and my friend might stop by here after Cain or Pink when we’re totally wasted and just wanna dance to some GOOD music. It’s def more of a hood crowd but you can rely on a very good DJ.

Ughh, where to begin. It was a struggle giving this place 2 stars, let me tell you. I came as part of a bachelorette party on a Saturday night, and we had table service. Which was the primary redeeming feature — I must say we were treated exceptionally well; the mixers, ice, limes etc were refilled rapidly, and we were able to move to a different table when we decided we didn’t like the one we originally chose. So, props for that. I dig the leather seats and matching ceiling, and the general décor, but the layout is not good for dancing. Although, I’m not sure why you would ever dance here, as the music is HORRENDOUS. They were playing some 80s/70s/RnB trainwreck; yes, amazingly, the horrific sounds blasting at headache inducing decibel levels were actually DJed. I couldn’t really believe it. To be fair, it is not the type of music I like at all; I’m an electronica girl through and through when it comes to clubs. But I was not alone in finding the music simply awful. And so, so loud. I’m still recovering, 24 hours later. There may well be permanent damage. It was also absolutely freezing inside; I never took my down jacket off, and I STILL never felt warm. Again, all of us found this to be the case. Sadly, I wasn’t drinking, so I had no wonderful booze to warm me from the inside. I found the crowd obnoxiously fake-trendy and just oddly mixed, and not in a cool eclectic manner, but in a weird awkward way. And why, why must you be SOFAR from a subway, Home? I’m pretty sure my body temperature dropped to below zero on my walk to the closest metro.

This is the go-to spot for young people in 20’s to early 30’s…sure, the guy with the white-powdered face and rouge lipstick wearing weird outfits might not let in some of the guys you’re with, but it’s totally worth going in even if you have to ditch them… they’ll eventually get in if they wait long enough :)…music is hiphop/pop … the only downside is that it gets too crowded sometimes…

This place is a hit or miss. The first time I came here I totally hated the music they were playing. The DJ sucks on the Saturday that I went. We had our own private table but the place, the music, and the scene was still irritating to me. Most recently, after finishing watching this movie with this guy that I am dating– He said we were going out to a club after wards after I complimented on his attire. I asked him where was he planning to go — he said Home! I started to complain to him how much I hated Home. After some push and shove — he got me to go to Home on a freaking WORK night. Again, I did something that I am not suppose to be doing — -PATRON SHOTS.(It makes me crazy!) I swear with Patron… everything gets better. Perhaps it was because it was a Thursday night and not a Saturday night, but Home actually played some good music. People didn’t get on my nerves and everything was gravy! But then again I had Patron… so take lots of shots and you won’t care whether you are at HOME or your own damn Home.

Yikes… I thought I was going to have a nervous breakdown. Gross 20 year olds with no manners or personality from all around the greater NYC area pulsating to terrible music was not a good way to spend 15 minutes of my Saturday night. Please avoid this area even if you decide to make the best of a night when you can’t get into Pink or Kane. There has to be a bar nearby somewhere… BTW– I think Gabriel R’s description is right on about the Blade scene…

Imagine the scene in Blade when the blood starts flowing out of the sprinkler system and the only one who isn’t a vampire and getting off on it is you! That’s how I felt when I went to this overrated pile of shit. Luckily, I happened to be with 3 gorgeous women who invited me into this place or else I’d probably be waiting outside still(I’m very uncool). Once inside, I was deafened by some of the loudest and worst music I’ve ever heard. I could feel my eardrums being destroyed each second I was bombarded by their terribly designed sound system. For this kind of volume the place should have been about 10 times the size… e.i. a real«dance club». The place is small with low ceilings… what do you think would happen? The crowd was extremely young, which is fine, and may explain the inexperience in knowing how to appreciate a good club from a bad one. The worst is hearing people talk about how they spent $ 500 for table service which translates to: ‘I just spent $ 500 for a bottle which cost $ 65 in a store and got a two bottles of juice/soda and a bucket of ice to mix with it. Aren’t I cool?’. Dumb fucks! Are you serious? The place is well decorated with what seemed to be fine leather furniture. However, every girl I saw in the place was taking turns dancing on it with their high heel shoes and spilling their drinks on it while guy after guy did stuff to them I’d rather not repeat. Can you say«self-respect»? Maybe if I was 21, had mommy and daddy’s money to burn and was a total sheep I would enjoy this place. However, that’s not my life and I’m grateful for that. Keep thinking you’re original and cool and enjoy this club as it robs you in every way imaginable.
