Good riddance. This place was a coke infused pretentious sh*t-hole. I’m surprised they weren’t shut down by the DEA

Most people think I am younger than I really am. I was like Bungalow 8 seriously when did you close. When Lindsay lohan stopped being relavent and stopped burning people with a lit cigarette inside a club when you are not supposed to be smoking indoors here in New York. That was a while back though, 2006. I am just glad I made it through the rope at least once. It was fun, whatever I actually remember of it. *Lindsay did not burn me personally with the lit cigarette but it was friend of mine.* I never tried to go back, didn’t wanna drop that kind of money or get rejected at the door this time… Oh well –CLOSED now.

Still going strong — Despite the mixed and often unfair press, we still come back out of loyalty to the beleagured Ms. Sacco, who still knows how to give a riotous party. I like it here and will be coming back till lights out. And we hope that’s not soon. There’s a feeling of safety once you’re in Bungalow 8’s precincts. You can relax in the certain knowledge that despite all the seeming out-of-control good time, you are protected from unwelcome anything by the vigilant bouncers and staff. The faux Florida vibe is fun in the heart of NYC. Others take pleasure in disparaging B8 now that it’s in disfavor(and how the heck did THAT happen? I’d love to hear the back story behind that one day, wouldn’t you?) and it’s ALL about the High Line now. We’ll do our bit to keeping the doors open, Amy.

Attended one of my close friend’s b-day bash last week. Luckily, I knew a few of the bouncers when I used to work in the Chelsea area. So, getting past the rope was a breeze. If you’re lucky enough to get past the cool exterior, you’ll find yourself in a company of a few warm and genuine guys. On the other hand, don’t get your hopes up too high. Tip: Remember, the bouncers are only doing their job. Don’t give them a hard time. If they tell you no, it means NO! My close friend sure knew how to celebrate at this exclusive club. It also helps with connections. The owner, Amy Sacco whom I have seen a few times keeps this place very intimate and private for a reason. It’s mostly for the likes of B list-celebrities(Blink 182, Scarlet Johansson, Paris Hilton, Leelee Sobieski, P. Diddy, Waynes brothers, athletes from time to time.). A very ritzy and beachy-keen atmosphere. Loved the stylish bar and seating. Palm trees, zebra stripes, and a very strong South Beach interior makes an ultimate presence inside the club. I was escorted to the VIP lounge where my close friend was seated with our group. There were about 50 people who attended the private event. Open bottles of Clos Du Mesnil 1995, Veuve Clicquot, and of course Cristal. ;). Hors D’ Oeuvres were served by waitstaff. Trays of seafood ceviche, lobster and mango rice paper salad rolls, tuna tartar, Moroccan Chicken skewers, creamy caviar spread, crostini with herbed goat cheese were offered in abundance. Courtesy of NYC Caterers. And his birthday cake was made and delivered by Sylvia Weinstock Cakes. FYI: Sylvia Weinstock is the Leonardo Di Vinci of wedding cakes. Her clients include Catherine Zeta Jones, Oprah Winfrey, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, etc. The party ended around 3−4am. I called it quits at 2am. I suspect, I’m getting a bit too old. It can get a bit overwhelming. Exciting in the first few hours. However, you’re quickly reminded you are no longer a B-list celebrity when the music and lights dim. It’s still nice to be swooned and pampered by a members-only club for a few hours. :)

Baller. what a cool place, it’s like walking into an indoor south beach I like the scenery and the chill atmosphere. Everyone is very laid back and happy almost like they are on vacation or stoned perhaps… which may be possible. Nice looking crowd, high class, meeting packingesque They also keep it not too packed which is nice not to have your pumas smudged for a change. The door man is very strict on who he lets in. If your not with girls you will not get in… unless: TIP: say that you are meeting people inside named ___& ____, that should get you in or at least it worked for me. Prices were what an expensive club should be… expensive. Great place to impress a girl… works 60% of the time, every time. P. S. walk up stairs and check out the DJ booth, it has a cool observation area to look out on the club, also a good smoking spot.

I must say of all the places I’ve partied in the world this might be one of my favs… After hitting up several other spots in Chelsea happened upon the bungalow one friday night and was pleasantly suprised… Live palm trees… super comfy couches… super friendly bartenders(and cute)…and a great DJ… what more could a girl ask for? Nothing. No seriously… I left this place a happy camper. A couple of notes though… if you don’t know someone you won’t get in just walking off the street. The bouncer outside will make sure of this. Also go early or go after hours… makes it easier for everyone involved… Lastly…this may sound weird but the thing I recall most about my visit here were the bathrooms… they were super clean!!!(rare in NYC) and everything in the bathroom is black… sink…the loo… the floors… lit by only candles… Def a great spot to hit and do some partying for the night…

It’s been a year since I’ve been here, but I’m hoping on coming back more. This place does make u feel like ur on the A-list. Usually those who come are invited by the owner or knows someboday. I felt super lucky when I got in with my sister and BFF. We were definitely dressed up(that helped). The atmosphere is swanky and intimate. I went two times the same week because of 1) the watermelon cocktail(tasty and strong) and 2) the hot bartender from Isreal. Bartender, are u still there??? I’m coming back to find you! Don’t forget our Connect-4 Date!

Gave this place many chances to be the amazing spot it was purported to be… and it was never busy, much fun, nor was any celebrity ever spotted. Bungalow’s name still rides it’s SATC fame.

I’m definitely a fan. It was a slow night but we got to swap stories with Aloe Vera, who’s seriously amazing. And FIERCE. Decent music, small and intimate venue(I think small, intimate clubs make patrons feel like A-listers), and really cute décor. It’s supposed to resemble a southern California bungalow and it totally gives off that LA vibe, dude. Like, for sure. Drinks are strong & pricey and they WILL jack up the prices after a certain hour, so don’t be surprised.

I like that it never gets too crowded. the doormen are intimidating… but I guess that’s their job. The only thing — the music, there’d be a good song to dance to, then a good song to listen to… it’s like the dj is messing with you… playing stop-go, only dance — no dance. But man, the watermelon drinks are addictive! Love them. The crowd last night was definitely eclectic… with a few annoying guys but some fun ones too — so I guess it’s a wash.

I didn’t even know this place was still around. I know it used to be super exclusive a few years ago, thats why I was confused when my friend said he had a table at bungalow. I figured I would go and check it out just for hell of it. I must have passed by this place a dozen times and not have even known about it. its very hidden and the only thing outside the door is a neon No Vacancy sign. Getting in can be pretty tough, but since my friend had a table and I was with a few girls, we had no trouble. The inside was really cute-decorated with palm trees and cozy sofas! The place wasn’t that crowded. There were obnoxious men and poorly dressed females! The dj was awful!!! I don’t know what decade he was stuck in but it certainly wasn’t good! Everyone at our table couldn’t wait to finish the bottle and leave! Finally I couldn’t take the music and the people so I left. Maybe I went on bad night?(I went on a Thursday) *Maybe* I’d try it again on another night– but it would take alot of convincing… and alot of alcohol!

The mecca of NYC nightlife is still cool and packing page six after all these years but there are certain rules that you have to follow: 1. bring a) women b) a regular or c) alot of money for bottles 2. dress to the nines(barneys or bergdorf can help you) 3. dont show up until 1 am because that is when it gets going Once inside you will never want to leave. I cant wait to visit the one in London, Amy Sacco rules.

I wound up here accidentally this past Saturday. Thanks to the juice deciding my fate that it is… Despite my best efforts to remain non chalant about the whole thing, when I got inside I was kind of star struck. No, not because there were any celebrities there– I am a celebrity repellant; if you wanna see one dont go anywhere with me– but because of the place itself. You hear so much about it, how youll never get in, what its like etc. etc. that when you actually accomplish it(it really wasnt that hard) you feel a sense excitment. Anyone who tells you different after their first time going is lying. The ambiance is amazing. Palm trees, disco ball, polka dot couches– I felt like I was in Hollywood in the 1940s. There was a 2 bottle minimum but since that wasnt what we were told at the door(we were told only a $ 400 minimum) my boyfriend spoke to the manager and we were set with just one bottle. My boyfriend is good like that and the staff is amazing and unpretentious. The music was great– oldies, newer songs, songs you thought you’d never hear at an exclusive night club– everything. The music was at the perfect volume too. You could actually have a conversation with your friends and hear yourself think but the music was still loud enough to get you up and dancing. Good service, great staff– Just DONT take a picture! I was with a group of 5 girls and 2 guys which dwindled down to 3 girls and 2 guys. It was a little crowded with the 7 of us but when it was just 5 it was perfect. I wouldnt recommend going with more than 5 in a group as its an intimate setting. Go here with a date for drinks after dinner– very romantic spot. Love bungalow– I dont care what anyone else says but its still popular, people stil wait in line, and it still has it. Dont go bf 2am if you dont wanna be the only one in there.

A place that’s as exclusive as can be? Us girls love a good challenge! (Yes, Butter is exclusive too, but this is definitely a different breed.) Situated on what seemed to be party lane, Bungalow 8 is the most discrete of them all w/their«No Vacancy» neon sign and low key entrance. I’m glad we took on the challenge, since we ended up getting in w/no problem. The bouncers were surprisingly cool. Once we were in, we cozied up to the bar and became quick friends w/the bartender who challenged us all to a few games of Connect Four in exchange for shots. Connect Four?! I love it! No snob factor floating around. As far as their drinks went, their watermelon martinis were absolutely delicious. They tasted like pure, watermelon juice w/enough vodka to get you buzzin’ and the fresh slice of watermelon was a nice touch. Yes they cost a pretty penny, but trust me. They’re worth it. They also knew how to make a good caipirinha! The interior is pristine. Velvety couches, high-backed booths, palm trees, and candlelit tables deck out this spot. The posted photos don’t seem to do them much justice, which is most likely attributed to their No Photographing rule. Bathrooms were extra impressive with cleanliness down to a T and sleekness all around. I’m not gonna lie– it definitely calls for some naughtiness to go down in there. They were that nice. So, come Wednesday– our grand finale night in NYC, we decide to hit up Bungalow 8 for trip numero dos since we’re in the ‘hood. I was a little skeptical as to how well they’d match up w. our first experience, but everything was just as good if not better. Music was more my style, and the DJs were a friendly bunch– they even offered to mix in my favorite song! AND, our bartender friend was there, along w/the same chill bouncers. It’s a shame Bungalow 8 is cemented in NYC, otherwise I’d take it back w/me to SF! I miss it already! p. s. Just a tip for those that come through here on a weeknight, come late. And I mean late as in 2 am when it gets to be more crowded since it seems to more so be an end-up spot.

Great place to chill and relax at late night. But I wouldn’t try going unless you’re going with a) a regular B) a celebrity(that knows they can get in) C) you know Amy Wasn’t that crowded when i went. had a table to ourselves. It basicly feels like you’re in miami when your in there. and like most exclusive places. mostly anything goes. aka blazed with some gap model. and a whole lot of other shit was goin on. but any way great if you want to try and see some one famous. but if your going and are going to get in’m guessing you prob don’t care.

Boy, was I ready to hate this place. Ready to call it overrated, tired, and unworthy of all the hype. Ready to say that Amy Sacco’s reign in West Chelsea had come to an end with the demise of Sex & The City, and that like so many other places hyped on that show(Magnolia Bakery, anyone?), Bungalow 8 was o-v-e-r, over. I was wrong. Dead wrong. Bungalow 8 really is all that and a bag of chips. Getting in can definitely be tricky, even now that the whole key thing is done with. The trick, like with most exclusive clubs, is to go with a regular. I was brought by Shane H, who knows everyone, and once you get past the velvet rope, you’re family. Everyone working was sweet, attentive, and drop dead gorgeous. Crowd was an interesting mix of well heeled 30-something gentlemen, PR Pros of the gay and girl variety, models, the odd B-list celebrity(what’s up, Nate Berkus?), and the odder socialite. Ms. Sacco could be seen glamazoning around looking fabulous among the real palm trees and under the glass ceiling. After a few martinis I was dancing with a model named Amber(natch) and suddenly it was 3am… on a Wednesday. A friend once told me that the reason Bungalow 8 works so well is that Amy keeps it as just a place for her people to hang out and have a good time. Of course, getting to be one of «her people» is the hard part, but once you do, you’ll never want to hang anywhere else. Well done.

I’ll be honest, I had the most fun I’ve had in a very long time at Bungalow, and now I love it. My Bungalow cherry has been popped, and I’m totally wanting to go back. Although the drinks are quite overpriced — basically me giving the bartender a 20 for my Belvedere and Cranberry and not receiving any change back — it basically tells me that they’re most likely about $ 18 per drink. The place was super packed, but still manageable. AMAZING music. I was going nuts with the music, and totally enjoyed dancing to it. I was drunk, I was having fun, and I met some new friends and had a great time. Oh and I kissed this pretty tranny on the cheek. SHe was a hot mess.

heard so much about it and never thought i would wind up here. Someone in my group of people knew someone and thats how we arrived. At first i was like whats the big deal? But by the end of the night, as always, it was the best. I was partying with my college friends and being the loud crazy bunch we are, we were dancing and having so much fun that some of the socialite ppl actually came up and helped us fill up the dance floor. Not a place i would show up with my gf to dance and have fun. But rather a laid back lounge where i would frequent with a small group of ppl(if i ever become rich successful and well connected to be a regular at this place). Such a chill spot to be with a fun group of friends. Music: 4 Crowd: 5+ Atmosphere: 5+

One of Amy Sacco’s little gems. Über exclusive, especially on big nights, but never feels like it’s trying too hard. Really warm, wonderful atmosphere — you can either make out and talk on the soft plush sofa, or dance with beautiful people in the middle of the room. The whole space is small, so it’s always cosy. I didn’t realize that this was THE Bungalow 8 until we left, so without the pressure to be glamorous, I was happily reckless there for a few amazing hours.
