I had an awesome time here for my bday. Top 40s hip hop and pop music. Good crowd. The guy bartender was a dick. But the bouncers were cool and there’s security checking you before you go in, so that’s good… at least I know I won’t be getting shot. $ 20 cover for guys past 11… whack. and the line is sooo fracking slow!

Ill start with he pros: The music was great. I love hip hop and they played some great classics. Yes im that white girl that thinks she can get down! The crowd was fun, everybody was dancing and having a good time. No grilling or drink spilling! After reading some Unilocal reviews, I was expecting to walk into the jersey shore house, but I honestly didnt see any snooki look-a-likes, so that was a relief. The Cons: $ 20 cover?! really??? Call me cheap, but I just dont do covers. We did get there around 12:30am, I dont believe there is a cover charge before midnight. Drinks-expensive Their so called techno room was embarrassing! There were about 3 people in total, including a 70YEAROLDMAN smoking on a cig, attempting to grind on anything that moved. I think im going to need some therapy after witnessing that.

Oh Quo… The crowd kinda sucked. This place is blonde girl and meshuganah central. The females are annoying straight out of white chicks. The jewish men here were horny little bastards. There was some guy walking around with a lollipop all night(I thought it was 21+??) 90% of the people in that place has no rhythym and thought jumping up and down and flipping their hair were good dance moves. The drinks were expensive. I wasn’t drinking but it was about 16 bucks for a reg mixed drink. The DJ was alright! Some guy was giving out stupid Nicki Minaj wristbands like they were a golden ticket. The cover was $ 25 dollars before 12 on a Saturday night. I liked how it looked inside, good clubby décor. Thought it was small compared to other clubs. Ehhh…

My girlfriend and I live right around the corner and finally went to Quo for the first time for NYE. Well, we went after 12:30 to avoid having to pay $ 185. Since we walk by every night with our dog, my girlfriend has become friendly with the door staff, so they were very nice to us. They even let my girlfriend go out, run upstairs and come back, twice. We had an hour and a half of open bar, which was nice. The bar tenders though were a bit slow and seemed to have a bad attitude and near the end of the open bar, were making drinks with barely any alcohol. The crowd was fun, just partying the night away. There was no negative mood that one can feel at some places(angry drunks, stepped on toes, whatever). Although the music was mostly all techno/trance stuff that I don’t really enjoy, I still had a great time. And yes, a lot of Jersey Shore rejects, but then you can’t really expect them to ring their NYE in their mom’s basement. Although they have two separate areas, there was only one type of music playing. They had a bunch of dancers dancing behind the bar and around the main room. It was a bit funny, since for the most part, save one or two, were not incredibly good or attractive. But whatever. Surprisingly, the club was not jam packed; the second room was actually really empty. The VIP areas are a joke, mostly because those who think they are VIPs are a joke. I slipped on the steps going down to the bathroom. The bathrooms for men and women are pretty much on top of each other. I’m not a huge club fan, but this place is slick enough and the door service is friendly and we’re ten steps away, so we will likely be back.

My friend and I came here only because it was here birthday, we didn’t know many people in NYC and my one guy friend is a club promoter. We are definitely not club people but we came here anyways. We walk up to this place around midnight on a Saturday night and it had the longest line ever. I call up my friend who was already inside with a VIP table and free bottles everywhere. He comes out, takes us right in, the people in the line get all pissed off. Oh well, make connections and you get to do the same. This place was pretty damn big compared to a lot of other clubs in NYC. Huge dance floor and the circular design is pretty convenient. But, as one of the other reviewers stated, you literally have to fight your way through a giant drunken crowd of dancing belligerents just to get to the bathroom or even the bar. There’s not real way around it, it’s either you mosh through the drunken crowd, or you try to walk around it where you’re being grinded up on by people making out. Hey! This isn’t Studio54! Everyone calm the hell down! The restrooms are gross. There are men actually standing in the entrance of the ladies bathroom WATCHING these women!!! Wow! And you think some guys can’t get any lower, they need to watch women use the toilets to get off later, wow. The VIP sections were so lame. There were a few and the one next to us were a bunch of 40 year old men in suits holding bottles trying to act like«yea we got this» and the only look my friend and I could manage to give them was«wow, no you don’t!» There were A LOT of Jersey Shore types, and when I say a lot I mean about 98% of the people in here were dark orange, dipped their heads in a tub of gel, had tribal tattoos, and giant hair bumps accompanied by sluttyness. Ew. I give it one star for my promoter friend for letting us cut the incredibly long line and the bouncers for being really nice. And the other star for the free bottle service. If not for these two things, we would have never gone in. But hey, we’re broke and free stuff on a Saturday night, we weren’t going to say no. But next time, we’re going to say HELLZNO!

I had no idea QUO doubled up as Rockit on Friday nights, but definitely found out as soon as I arrived at the door with 20 amazingly dressed guys and no other girls in sight. $ 10 cover(yes, even for chicks). Door isn’t selective at all, seems like they let anyone in. Quick line, ID check, pay on the inside. The club is HUGE — this is a place you can truly call a club. A big, open space, [sexy ass] go-go dancers up on raised platforms, strobe lights, fog, lasers, all the makings of an intense night. You could tell a lot of people were coked up and on E by the countless number of people sucking on lollipops, but I guess that all just added to the club vibe. The place got super packed and the areas by the bathrooms smelled DISGUSTING. It was really awful. Bathroom attendant was nice, though, and kept an orderly and efficient line. If you go toward the back and up some stairs, there’s another room up there with more dance music than just straight trance and it’s not as crowded — we definitely had a better time up there. I can’t comment on the drinks, had a few gimlets at another spot prior. Would I go back again? Probably not. I hopped in a cab after an hour of being inside and headed over to ACE. Definitely way better parties to be at in the city, especially those with a $ 10 cover.

If you’re a Snook-alike, own a leopard print dress and/or a Bumpit, like to get sloppy drunk, and enjoy grinding on poles, Quo is your heaven. Classy people over the age of 23: stay away

Went for Rockit on Friday and it was alright. Had a nice strong vodka tonic which was surprising, since it was in a plastic cup. The performer was okay. She scored singing 1 out of 3 songs well. All-round the music and experience were fine but not great. Definitely wasn’t worth the $ 10 cover.

Shady promoters with empty promises. Expensive drinks($ 14 for a shot of shitty tequila, I can get patron for less). Went on a saturday — girls are free guys are $ 25. Would NOT recommend.

Quo is a pleasant change from it’s former space occupant Prime… The staff is likeable, the drinks are reasonale and the décor is GREAT. Sometimes I’m opposed to remodel jobs that really keep the same ambiance of the place befor but Quo out did itself really creating a whole new look and new identity leadin to better crowds and a more pleasant experience! If you can catch a great night Quo is sure to be a trendy Summer hotspot…

Trashy — Unprofessional — Horrible Sound I would never go back to this club, even if someone paid me to and for soo many reasons. Here was my experience of this place. First of all, it was a friend’s bday and he was told that his guests could pay $ 50 for an open bar until 2am. After we pay for the open bar they tell us, no– it’s really until 1am. At 12:50 when I went to get a drink at the bar the bartender told me and others, that open bar was done and that he’d have to charge me for my drinks. I kindly reminded him that it was only 12:50(and even showed him the time on my cell) and he still refused to give us another drink without charging us for it. Secondly, we were also told that there would be no entry fee before 12am for ladies and when we arrived at 11:40pm they still made us pay an entry fee. Third, the sound quality in the main room was the worst I have ever heard in my life. I couldn’t believe I was at a NYC club. I get better sound in my basement. It sounds like you are at a VFW hall. Horrible horrible sound quality — really ruined the music and the mood. Forth, the crowd was filled with 21 year olds and some creepy 50 year olds and the rest … well lets just say, not the classiest people. The staff acts like they are running an A list club when in fact, I felt like I was out in Arkansas in someones basement … I will make sure anyone who asks me about this place knows what a waste of time and money this place is. Trashy — Unprofessional — Horrible Sound

*Updated Tip ~ 5.11.10* Best to go on Saturday nights when they’re promoting a celebrity, otherwise the place is kind of quiet. I have to admit, the very first time I came(2 weekends prior to this; I never had a chance to check it out while it was«Ruby Falls»), it was dead & the music was whack. My friend later informed me that they usually have a celebrity that comes there that they publicize, but that ONE weekend, there was no one(hence why it was dead). I decided to give it another try just because of all its hype. I think I have finally found my club! The music awesome(mainly top 40’s, hip-hop with a few house tracks mixed in). The crowd isn’t bad(girls are dressed up for the most part & there were a few cute guys). And the décor is nice! For as long as I have been going out to NY for the nightlife(and trust me, it has been a LONG time), I have learned one thing: you usually have to sacrifice 1 or 2 of the above for most clubs. Either music is good but crowd is trashy/grimey and/or venue is blah. I think this place did a good job of mixing all those elements together! I definitely will be coming here more often.

This is a cool club. I went there on a Sunday and the DJ’s were ENUFF and Camillo. Two cool HOT97 nyc DJ’s. I really enjoyed the music and the man on the drums that accompanied the DJ’s. There are pole that some adventurous patrons decided to take a shot at. Personally not my thing, but more power to them. The crowd was pretty diverse, which I prefer. The door men were cool and friendly, always a plus! The décor is very nice and sexy. there are lots of areas for bottle service. The mandatory coat check was a small pain, but not that bad. The drinks were overpriced for the strength. The only real pain was the ATM that charge $ 5.25 to use! Next time I will be sure to hit the bank prior to entering Quo. Other than that small snafu Quo is a cool spot to check out.

I’m a little late on this review, but since this weekend is a long weekend, I figured to help other ppl out who are looking to party on Sunday night ^_^ Sunday nights are AWESOME!!! I went to DJ Enuff’s bday party and saw Diddy perform. In addition, I saw Jim Jones, he was standing next to me while I was waiting for the bathroom, I tapped his arm and he walked away. HaHa! Music was great, dancefloor is pretty good size, drinks are kinda pricey BUT we kept going to the same bartender and she hooked it up with the liquor. The décor looks like you’re in a music video but not in a tacky way. The people(at least that night) were mixed. Some bougie… cute little skinny urban girls with bubble butts and knowing how to show it off. Some model looking chicks, you know tall/skinny with great hair and thick lips. Some ghetto chicks, that wore clothes 5 sizes too small and their rolls busting out, backing that azz up from front to the back, always good for a chuckle. Guys were great and some cute, not very intimidating. Saw some cute Japanese guys there so that was fun! Overall very fun, everyone was there to have a fun time and not just hook-up. I got home really late and had to go to work a couple hours later… I had so much fun that I was still buzzing in the office and did not complain one bit of the 2 hours of sleep I had. HaHa!

Getting into this place even though my cousin was best friends with the promoters bro’s wife was difficult. Therefore, I shit on this place. I was drunk enough to remember there was a bottle of grey goose redbull and orange juice waiting for me in a corner. About 15 of us piled on and off one of those high tech limo trucks, and a few lines later, we were having a great night!

Due to the location, I lowered this place by one star and the music here really is a bit odd too. They played mixed 80s and some modern hip hop with techno in between. Drinks are about $ 12 for cocktails and the lighting is really dim. I probably won’t come again due to the terrible location.

Dear Quo/Retox/Mist, Make up your mind superclub. Honestly. It’s for your own good really. You are going through a major indentity crisis, which I’m sure has a lot to do with the fact that your name has been changed more than enough times, but right about now you are just pretty much ridiculous. I visited you last Saturday night and sat in the back, which used to be walled off but now, that wall is made out of glass, so you can see the rest of the club, with its fancy lights and dancing people, buying stuff from the bar then spilling it on the very next person they bump into. Your décor, I must say, is beautiful. For lack of a better way to put it, I love what you’ve done with the place. Beyond that though, what’s going on with you Quo? Samantha Ronson was guest DJ for the night(and was nothing short of metiocre) so I know that with a DJ, music playing, and drinks flowing, that you are infact a club. However, I was a bit confused as to what exactly you are trying to be. There were two scantilly-clad women on a bed on stage rubbing each other down and massaging each other. On another stage, there were pole dancers, and a very weird singer(who I’m told is from The Box) «performing» for a very perterbed crowd. Later, that same weird guy was doing another one of his songs, this time with a topless girl flanking him. I’m not sure where you’re going from here Quo, whether another name change is coming or what have you, but one thing is for certain: a night at your establishment nowadays, leaves a patron as confused as you are. Till we meet again Q… Clint ZER0

I went here last night and I’m really impressed with the changes to the club. I’ve been to the original Quo and Myst/Retox as well. I like this layout the best. They removed the wall between the two sections of the club to give it a more open feel and replaced it with glass. I love the exclusivity the back room gives you, with the energy from the front room as well. The whole venue really reminds me of Vegas. From the décor to the crowd, it has this insane party vibe. There were all these performers because it was opening weekend which was cool. There were pole dancers(one talented, one not at all!), mardi gras dancers, singers, etc. I came with a promoter so I can’t comment on service so much. We were taken care of though, and the busboy was very attentive in bringing ice, mixers, cleaning up glasses, etc. The music was good as well and had everyone off their feet and dancing. It is hard to judge a club on opening weekend, so we will have to see if they can keep it up. I will be coming back to find out!

It was the bartender that night that made me do this to you Quo. For one I know I may look young but if I was carded to get in why do I have to show you my IDAGAIN to get a drink?! And it took forever for you to even notice that I wanted to get intoxicated. I think I was looking extra sassy tonight so gay or straight the bartender should have recognized my gangster and given me more attention.(I breathe off attention) Other than that it was small but there was room for the non-VIP to sit and sip on their drinks. The DJ was pretty fire that night so even though I couldn’t get a drink, I could dance the night away.
